It's one of my favorite AYCE Hotpot/Shabu Shabu places in Flushing! This restaurant is located in the busy area of Flushing, Queens and is easily accessible by public transportation. They used to offer $5 parking after getting your ticket validated. However, this is not available anymore. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of Queens Crossing. When you enter after using the elevator, you'll have to make your way across the restaurant to reach the front desk. After being seated, you can proceed to look at the menu by using the QR code provided to you. My go-to broth is the Spicy Mala one. There is no need to add salt to it it as it is already seasoned. Each person has their own soup, so you do not have to worry about any cross contamination. After ordering your a la carte items (meat/seafood/etc), you can proceed to go get your vegetables, sauces, noodles, and sides. I love how they offer a wide variety of vegetables for you to choose from. I do think that those who are not able to have meat will be pleasantly surprised with the options that are available here. Their sauce option is pretty diverse, with them offering their own pre-made sauce. I personally like using their Sweet & Spicy Sauce as a base for my sauce. After you have your meal, you can get ice cream! Their green tea ice cream is something I always need to get whenever I come here. It's super creamy! Their price is pretty affordable, especially during lunch on the weekdays 11:30am - 3pm), as it's under $20. Staff is also attentive, and you can always out to them if you need something. It is one of the coldest day this winter so nothing is better than hotpot. Since I'm just eating veggies, we decided that Spring may be the best option for hotpot. We arrived around 6pm and the place was starting to get busy. We were quickly seated and scammed QR coffee to see the menu. The place is large, clean & spacious. The waitress came by to take order of our drinks and the type of broth and meat we want to order. After that, it's on your own to go to the veggie, noodle, fish ball, sauce bar to get all the raw ingredients you would cook to eat. Overall there was a variety and fair selection of items. For $24, it's great for vegetarian or healthy eaters. They also have soft serve ice cream & Dole whip to end the meal. The waitress came by a few times to check on us to make sure everything was ok and refill our water & tea. I've been to Spring Shabu Shabu's Cambridge location, and their Flushing outpost has been on my list for a long time. If you're a vegetarian, this is definitely the best hotpot option in the city. Here, vegetables and a wide selection of noodles take precedence over the meat options. You'll find everything from Korean sujebi, traditionally often served with clam soup, to pumpkin noodles, udon and ramen. I do wish they had a few more tofu options - many hotpot places in the city now regularly carry more obscure tofu options like bai-ye and black sesame tofu. read more

We came in a group of 8, there wasn't a big enough of a table to seat all of us, but we were able to get tables next to each other. I ordered the mala broth, it had a nice balance of spiciness but keep in mind it's on the oilier side. I wish I got a photo of the bar, there is a LOT of selections of veggies, fish/meat balls, mushrooms, noodles, etc. to choose from. The raw meats are at an additional cost, I remember a plate each was maybe around 3-5ish dollars. Don't forget to finish off your meal with soft-serve, they have vanilla or matcha at the station. Gloves are provided but no one I saw used them. Two things I don't like: first, the seating is congested. Very crowded and feeling no space to walk around the tables. We arrived around 8:30pm and were told the food would be put away at 9pm. That seemed reasonable - we confirmed with the hostess we could grab everything we needed before 9 and take our time eating. Despite a large dining room with many open tables (including several for four or more), we were seated at an extremely small two-person table, which immediately felt cramped and unnecessary. We rushed to get food and sauces. The sauce was being restocked as we went to get it. At ~8:50pm, we went back for a quick final round, mostly for sauce - only to discover that all food and sauces had already been put away, well before the stated 9pm cutoff. When we asked for something as simple as soy sauce since one of us ran out of sauce, the waitress went to the back and returned saying it was "already put away," refusing to provide even a small amount. Service throughout was not just inattentive but unpleasant. One waitress assured us the tomato broth was "clear" and not oily before ordering - it turned out to be extremely greasy. Not to mention her own hair and face were extremely oily and dirty. Meanwhile, staff were loudly complaining, cursing, and even sweeping dust and debris around our table while we were eating, which was both uncomfortable and unsanitary. The environment didn't help: a large nearby table had over ten children running, crawling, and screaming, along with equally loud adults, making it impossible to relax or enjoy the meal. We received no check-ins during the meal...no one ever came to our table. Then the same sauce waitress abruptly dropped the bill and rushed us to pay - we were never told the closing time was 10pm. After immediately paying (and still tipping ~15% despite the complete lack of service since it's literally a self-serve buffet), we were pressured to leave soon after (her exact words were "seriously, you need to leave now.") When we asked for just five more minutes to finish, the response was an eye roll, a sigh, and a reluctant, irritated agreement - while other tables were not being rushed. Standard process at restaurants is that customers have the right to finish their meals past closing time if they were offered service before then. So, we assumed we could finish up and leave, of course being considerate of the closing time. If you do not allow your customers to stay after closing time, that should've been transparent when we walked in at the same time we were told food is put away at 9pm. We would not have dined here if we had known we would be misled and rushed out constantly. Very disappointed with the horrible service. The food itself was mediocre, and the pricing feels misleading - only vegetables included, with meat at a significant extra cost. Combined with the service, atmosphere, and overall handling of the experience, it was very overpriced and poorly managed. Overall, this was one of the most uncomfortable dining experiences I've had. We left with food unfinished since the waitresses ruined our appetite. Never ever returning. read more

All the asian vegetables, a ton of mushrooms, some fish cakes/balls and an amazing row of noodles to choose from. You can load up plate after plate and get full on healthy items without breaking the bank. My fav noodle is the fresh ramen noodle. Although it does taste different (thicker and gooey this time) than in years past, still my go to. I recommend the pork bone broth- I always drink 2-3 bowls of it after cooking my food and the taste is amazing. Not too salty and the flavor is perfect. I usually add some jalapenos to it for a nice kick. Definitely need a few cups of their green tea ice cream for dessert!! As for meats and seafood, it's honestly a really good deal for their price. It's barely higher than the price you pay at the supermarket so you can feel free to order a few plates of meat without being ripped off. Service: great and attentive. Lots of waiters and bussers running around to take dirty plates and offer you more broth and tea. Cons: Avoid the white portobello mushrooms. They do not wash them and are covered in dirt. They don't have anymore japanese sweet potato and it was one of my favorite hotpot items!! A huge line for parking downstairs when we left about 6:30pm on Saturday. If you're out in Brooklyn, you know you have to leave early before rush hour traffic to make it to Flushing at a reasonable time. There's a paid parking lot across the street and there's plenty of options to park. It's worth it to save time. Then you'll will head upstairs to the hotpot place. When you arrive, it's like a buffet style for veggies, noodles, fish balls, and a make your own sauce station. Unlike a lot of hotpot places I've been to in Colorado, the selection of veggies is huge. This is a great location to bring for those who are vegetarian as well. The meat option was pretty good too with a nice selection. There are a lot of soup options to choose from. Everything that I had tasted fresh and clean. Pretty nice variety of each of those categories. Meat and seafood are additional but reasonably priced too. They have beer, wine, and soju. For beer, they have kirin on draft plus an option for frozen kirin. A glass is $5 and a pitcher is $15. Service was attentive. All the self service items were well stocked and continually being replenished. There were gendered restrooms. They no longer validate parking in the building's basement. Food: 5/5 WARNING: All food here is raw and needs to be cooked! They do not give instructions on how long to cook the food so, you cook at your own risk. They also have multiple sauces you can try or make yourself for a personalized experience. With one meat (pork belly is my favorite) at the dinner base price after tip, I spent about $35pp. Service: 3/5 My most recent visit their service was pretty lacking. I had to often signal my server to refill my pot with broth and give us napkins. They let our plate pile on our table and did not even check on us which happened every other time before.
