Really great quality breakfast! Although breakfast seems like an easy meal to get right here are the reasons I'd give Springside a 5 rather than a 4: 1. The fruit was perfectly ripe, beautifully presented and super chilled. 2. The outdoor seating was comfortable (including plenty of shade and an area around the corner out of the wind. 3. Indoor dining is spaced very generously. 4. Waitresses were efficient and professional. 5. The size of the meals was perfect--not so huge that you wasted a lot of food. 6. This one is VERY important to me: Less wasteful packaging--sides (like salsa and sour cream) were served in small ceramic bowls, not disposable plastic cups. Well done! read more

Springside is a great low-key breakfast spot! A lot of restaurants in downtown Paso have really leaned into the fancy brunch scene, and I am so happy that we still have Springside for chill lazy Sundays. When coming to Springside I always order either a omelette or scramble. They are the best items on the menu and they never skimp out on stuffing them full of the goodies. My go-to is the Monterey scramble with green chillies, bacon, cheese, and avocado. You will leave stuffed and your wallet won't be hurting too bad either. So I asked can you please make the French toast with sourdough and the waiter turns to look at my husband and ask him if they can and he did that like three times and I asked why are you asking him? Place is about half mile from downtown park square. It's a nice walk if you're staying at the inn. Both indoor and outdoor seating available. The menu is extensive with a great variety. I had the two egg and fruit breakfast. It was good. Not superb but it basically eggs with peppers. The fruit was a tower!! It was great for healthy option. The pancake that my wife had were yummy. I've lived in town going on 7 months now but only first ate at Springside a couple weeks ago for dinner. We were so impressed by dinner that we came a week later for breakfast. The food is GOOD. For dinner we had the coconut shrimp and chicken fettuccine. Excellent. Their wines are local and well priced. The dining room was comfortable. Lots of locals. Breakfast was perfect on the patio. I had a scramble with bacon and green chiles in it. Super flavorful. Loved the salsa and the home fries. Decent cup of coffee too! Service both times was great! My lab Kayla was able to join us on the patio. Prices reasonable. Two great experiences means we'll definitely be back. read more

She proceeded to go inside without acknowledging us ... no Hello, no Good Morning,.. no Welcome.... The 2 eggs was literally like 4 bites, it looked more like they just scrambled an egg. Menu is huge, everything from omelette, pancakes, salads, sandwiches, scrambles and others. We both got coffees, I got the French toast, and my BF got t he mushroom and spinach omelette with ham added. French toast was super thicc, comes with 4 half slices, very butter and light with powdered sugar. My Bf omelette was also huge, with good balance of egg to fillings ratio, came with a side of potatoes and biscuit. This was our 2nd time here while visiting in Paso Robles. Both times the food, service and all around experience were exceptional! The pancakes here are ridiculously good. I got the Tower of London this time and it was delicious. Last time I got the eggs Benedict and it was so good. My husband got the bacon and sausage omelet and loved it. I've not ever seen this offered anywhere so had to try it. Enjoyed the crispy outside, it's a bit sweeter batter than a regular pancake, which we ordered also. But, won't be ordering it again. It wasn't a wow taste. The Danish sausage that came with the Abelskiver was delish. A much different taste; can't quite put my finger on it. The waitress staff are really fast at getting tables turned, people seated, and drinks out. The kitchen was noticeably slower at putting out food, but we didn't have to wait too long considering how busy they were. Overall great service. The food was good, in a run-of-the-mill breakfast kind of way. I had the country browns which was their potato's mixed with ham, cheese, and an egg on top (+avocado extra). I wish it had a lot more ham and a lot less potato, but it was tasty. Two people in our party enjoyed the huevos rancheros, and then the rest ordered simple eggs and potatoes. Pretty decent little brunch spot but nothing spectacular or anything I would hurry back to. I ordered the Cambrian (2 eggs, sausage, country potatoes and biscuits and gravy). It was just ok. The sausage patties were tiny, potatoes were crispy on the outside but not seasoned enough and the gravy was pretty flavorless too. Others in our group had the California omelette and the French toast, which they enjoyed. Also, none of the food was hot. Unfortunately, the service was also really off putting. I understand that places are recovering from the pandemic's effects and that longer wait times for tables or food are to be expected but there is really no excuse for rudeness.
