    Mini fish

Super disappointing. I called there first to discuss because I prefer to do that than write a negative review. That was a waste of my time. I ordered fish only, two cod, one halibut =$41.00. The hard, dark brown thin block of halibut for $18.00 was unrecognizable as halibut, so thin and overcooked it will be thrown away. The two orders of cod came in one tiny sleeve, one half the size of the other (both petite). I'm not sure what I expected from the individual on the phone but what I got wasn't acceptable, not was the food.

Spuds Fish & Chips clips their receipt to the bag without staples. It instead perforates both leaf and folds them under each other.

They've a great location and nearly captive customers, directly across the road from Juanita Beach, which accounts for their formula with four locations all across from destination or scenic waterfronts. This tells me folks go not for the food--unlike the gimmick of Michelin guides to sell more tires--though as comfort food, it serves, recalling scenes of seagulls pecking for vittles in the parking lot on a hot sunny day. It's purely a money-making machine, evident as 80¢ for a plastic ramekin of tartar sauce and $3.50 for a tiny dollop of vanilla soft-serve. At least though, the breaded cod and British chips come up piping hot, fried in not-too-old fry oil. No condiments come standard, nor even napkins, so you'll need to ask. That comports with their trash-minimizing ethos. Even their stapler uses no staples--to litter the beach--and instead perforates both the receipt and the bag, creasing and folding the perforations under each other.

Cannot believe I've lived in the area and just now trying Spuds, man oh man am I impressed!? The fish tacos were super filling and tasty! Definitely going to come back and order the clam strips, my favorite! The cocktail sauce is drinkable--so good. You can't go wrong with any of the items, we had the shrimp and rockfish, both delicious.

Such a great spot for a piping hot bowl of chowder and some fresh fish and chips near the water! Parking was easy to find. We didn't see the parking in front, so we parked in the back and saw their beautiful mural! Indoor and outdoor seating is available. We came on a pretty stormy day so we ate indoors. It's a cute little spot with history. The staff were all very friendly! Food: + vanilla milkshake - soo good and pefect with fries + cod fish and chips - very fresh and has a nice crisp outside, paired well with the vinegar and aiolis + fish tacos - very flavorful and so tasty! + crab chowder - yummy! my husband really liked this! + clam chowder - this was my favorite! Overall, a really nice spot! Especially because it's steps away from the water and Juanita beach park.

Used to love spuds back in the day and visited the kirkland location based on that lasting experience. We ordered the regular fish and chips, coleslaw, kids basket with chicken and fries, bag of their house made potato chips, ding dong like dessert and of course fried clams. Though they took our order correctly, they gave us fish and chips for the kids basket, and forgot our coleslaw. It was no big deal, as they quickly remedied the situation but only due to us having kept our receipt, which is totally understandable during the times we live in. Overall the seating was clean, service decent and food decent. Fried clams and coleslaw were my favorite. The ding dong like dessert they have wrapped in foil, was too sweet, dry and too dense. The mod pizza has the best version of this which is called the no name cake.

Lovely Sunday for fish and chips!

We came here this past weekend since the weather was so nice and it's right by Juanita Beach. It was busy but we were able to sit outside. Overall the food was tasty and I for sure want to go back to try other menu items.

Omg this place is incredible, the staff was great and my family felt very welcomed here. The clam chowder was very good. I also got their chicken burger and the flavor was very unique, sweet and savory at the same time. The 3 piece fish and chips was very fulfilling, each piece was huge

Fish and chips place in Juanita, across the street from Juanita Beach Park. Small interior with some picnic tables out front for outdoors seating. Can see a bit of the lake and the park if you sit outside. Menu is various fried fish and other seafood. Got the two piece cod fish and chips which $16. Additional $3.50 ish for a fountain drink (with refills) and one tartar sauce. Actually ended up with 3 pieces of fish (not sure if intentional). Decent amount of fish. Classic fried fish taste without much flavoring. Probably should have added a little salt on my own. Batter is crisp and a little hard on the first chew, but fine after that. Decent amount of fries, but they weren't crispy and not quite as good as McDs. Overall, alright fish and chips for the price.

High prices for super average fish n chips, not worth it. Location is nice, but the interior is mediocre.

Fish breading was lousy. Popcorn shrimp tasted fine, but was $8 for literally 12 tiny shrimp. 60¢ for tartar sauce?!? Fries were fine.

The food is a bit of a mixed bag, but the cod is a must-try. It was packed with flavor, beautifully complemented by a unique mix of nuts, dried grapes, and pineapple. The salmon was also well-cooked, though its sides and toppings fell a little bland. For dessert, we tried the chocolate lava cake. We've spend around $150 for two. While we appreciated the staff letting us know it would take 15 minutes to prepare, the flavor itself was fairly standard--just a classic lava cake with raspberry sauce and a truffle filling that felt a bit too rich to finish. A huge perk of dining here is the parking situation. They offer complimentary valet as well as two hours of free parking in the P2 garage, which is an absolute lifesaver during busy weekend rushes.

Our family went here many years ago and liked it but for some reason we never got around to returning. I'm glad we went back. We both loved reading the back of the menu and learning of the original owner's reason for opening a neighborhood grill and bar. When we were chatting with who we thought was a waiter, it turned out to be one of the new owners, Robbie. He recently purchased this place from the original owner. He also knew a family member of mine and was super nice and attentive throughout our visit. For breakfast, I had the Game Special which is a basic combo of eggs, hash browns, toast and either bacon or sausage. My daughter had the Eggs Benedict which also came with hash browns. I love this style of hash browns and they come in a close second to Beth's Cafe hash browns, which is a huge compliment. My breakfast was prepared wonderfully and everything was spot on. The coffee refills kept up with me which is rare in a breakfast place. My daughter liked her eggs benedict as well. I'll return here for the bar next time and watch a game and report back.

I saw that Hearth was having a Valentine's Day 3 course meal! I made a reservation a few weeks in advance and they messaged me a couple of days beforehand to let me know the menu offerings which I thought were really nice and showed quality impeccable preparation! We truly enjoyed the wild mushroom tartlet, both entrees (lobster saffron risotto and the chicken roulade) followed by the desserts of chocolate crème de pan and the basque cheesecake! We also loved the wine pairings with all the courses! My favorite was one of the dessert wines. Our server was fantastic and the team is so friendly! The ambiance is dim lit but very pretty inside. It was a full house by the time we were eating! It's my second time at Hearth but bf's first and he really enjoyed it :) We'd love to stay at the Heathman one day too! We will be back!

I ordered a glass of wine off the menu, and their choices of wine by the glass were not good. We also tried a few appetizers; they were okay enough that we finished them, but there was absolutely nothing memorable or worth ordering a second time. The actual setup of the place is nice, it has a beautiful bar area and an outdoor seating space for nice weather. However, the vibe just wasn't incredibly welcoming. To make matters worse, the staff was very mediocre and not super friendly, which really dragged down the whole experience. I really wanted to have a better experience here given how perfect the location is, but based on this visit, I wouldn't recommend it. With so many other welcoming spots within walking distance in Kirkland, you are better off looking elsewhere for good drinks and a friendly vibe.

I'm placing this as one of my new favorite sushi spots on the Eastside! Four of us came for an early dinner around 4:30P on a Saturday and got seating right away in a booth. The restaurant is on the smaller end with just a few tables on each side and a few seats at the sushi bar. In addition to an appetizer, two of us shared three specialty sushi rolls and the other two in our group ordered the chicken katsu meal set. Our sushi arrived beautifully all on one plate. Each specialty roll included 10 pieces and they all contained a generous amount of filling with a relatively thin rice layer, making the average price of $18 - $19 per roll worth the value. + TAKOYAKI ($7.50): These deep-fried dumplings had a soft creamy interior and housed a small piece of tender octopus. Four pieces came in an order, topped with mayo, unagi sauce and bonito flakes. I loved the crispy exterior and they were served steaming hot. I am not sure they were made in-house or frozen, but they were delicious. + KOUSHI ROLL ($17.99): A crab, avocado and cucumber roll topped with cajun seared salmon, spicy mayo, unagi sauce, green onion and fish roe. Between the crab filling and spicy mayo, this is a pretty creamy roll. The salmon on top had a very light sear, so while the smoky flavor was noticeable, I considered it closer to raw. The unagi sauce added some sweetness that offset the mild spice. + NAGOYA ROLL ($18.99): Tuna avocado roll topped with salmon, ponzu sauce, sweet sesame sauce, green onion and fish roe. The freshness of the fish especially shined here between the large cubes of tuna inside and the meaty slice of raw salmon on top. The sauce simply enhanced the roll without taking over the flavor, so it didn't distract from the purity of the ingredients. + SETO ROLL ($18.99): Spicy tuna and cucumber inside topped with tuna, ponzu sauce and green onion. This roll is HOT, like at least 3/5 stars on the spice scale! As spicy as it was, I really enjoyed it, especially since half the roll was topped with medium fatty tuna which was such a nice treat. Lean tuna draped over the other half. Chopped green onion on top added pops of freshness. The chicken katsu meal ($16.99) came with salad, rice and miso soup. I tried one piece of the chicken which was tender and had an excellent light crunch! Service was great as the two employees managing the dining room checked back a couple times and were actively watching in case any of the tables needed anything. I know I'll be back again for more sushi!
