This place is a true gem in Islamorada Florida. We have been here many times and we have never been disappointed in anyway shape or form. The employees, extremely friendly and helpful getting you checked in at the hostess stand and when seated welcomed by the waiter or waitress, and the number of runners to make sure that you always have water, silverware, additional plates and napkins. Upon sitting down, we each ordered a cocktail, (three old Fashioned) and one of us ordered a glass (California cab) of wine. We also ordered the days special appetizer which was a mac & cheese that contained pork belly, you can't go wrong, It was extremely delicious and flavorful I ordered the tilefish, which was the special also for the entrées, it came lightly breaded and perfectly cooked. I really liked this place; they were able to accommodate our group of 8 upstairs on a Friday evening when the restaurant below had an hour and a half wait. Upstairs they have tables and bar seating so we ordered a bunch of appetizers for our group to share for dinner. My favorites were the Brussel sprouts which were flavored with a sweet sauce and super crispy and the giant pretzel which was served a a charcuterie board, (great display,) and had 2 dipping sauces in addition to the chunks of meats snd cheeses. I don't eat seafood; but my friends all commented that the fish dip was really tasty. It came with some flat crackers and veggie sticks. We also had the spinach/artichoke dip which was good and the chicken lollipop skewers which were just o.k. They had lots of other appetizers to choose from as well. Who needs a dinner menu when you have so many appetizer options? The place is decorated with a "square grouper" theme which is what the bales of marijuana dropped in the ocean were cleverly nicknamed. A square grouper is a slang term for a bale of marijuana that drug smugglers would drop into the ocean current from a plane to be carried to the Keys and be picked up there. There are pictures of such in the restaurant as well as funky and cool lighting fixtures. The vibe is relaxed and has an upstairs lounge as well as seating on the patio that overlooks the water. We not only saw a manatee but a shooting star while waiting for our table. And while the decor and ambiance is outstanding, my favorite part was the food. Our server was also excellent. We shared the cauliflower and I had the scallops as my entree. They are served over a bed of corn and lima bean hash and so delicious! My husband had the Jasmine rice bowl and was really excited about it. One of our friends had the filet sliders and he said they were great! Even the bread is super tasty. There was a wait for a table about 20-40 minutes , but thankfully there was a cocktail service waitress , and we had drinks meanwhile we waited. I had a aperol spritz , my partner had a gin and tonic. About 10-15 mins there was some seats that became available at the bar , and we decided to sit there as it was first come first sever and no wait. BEST DECISION EVER . Your bartender is one of the best ! Spectacular hospitality and service. Gave great recommendations for entrees , and appetizers. The sweet potato fries were amazing super crunchy and flavorful, a must have. We came here last year and they said it was a two hour wait so we left.... I should have waited the two hours at the bar. First service is amazing these people have a line outside when you arrive and sit everyone at the same time. The servers never look over whelmed and drinks come with in 3 minutes of sitting down. The interior of the restaurant is well designed and casual comfortable. Food selection has something for everyone but we focused on seafood. Oyster Rockefeller and Conch Chowder were the starters, but the fun continued with an almond crusted grouper and ahi tuna quinoa salad. Now I can understand why people go thru a line to wait to get to this restaurant. I had a wonderful experience, all in one , everything was perfect. We could not go to the 3th floor because our young daughter was with us so we had to wait for them to open the restaurant but was so worthy! Our waiter was super attentive and professional. I always liked eating here in the past. Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. It was packed! The ambiance is beachy and artsy. I ordered mahi tacos, portabello fries and Cole slaw. All of the food was just ok. The fries were burnt and tasteless, the fish tacos just had no real flavor. The only redemption was the coleslaw. It was good and a generous portion. Love this little spot. It's got a great keys atmosphere and the food is good and different than what you would see at other restaurants down here. They bring different flavors and styles of cooking fish and a wide variety of options but not so much that it's overwhelming. I recommend the grouper; both the piccata and almond crusted were very tasty. If you are looking for a lounge with some great cocktails and fresh oysters, check out the upstairs lounge. Great vibe. It is 21 and over so not a good option for the kids. I give this place 4 stars because it's super hard to get parking and the wait time is always super long. We have been here a few times but we would come more if the wait wasn't so long each time. This time, we got there early (around 5:30) and we still had to wait an hour. They don't take reservations so first come first serve. Overall, a place that's worth trying. You can't leave without trying the classic key lime pie; not too tart or too sweet just the right creamy texture. Enjoy! read more

Buffalo shrimp with house made blue-cheese dressing to start, I ordered the blackened scallops Caesar salad, he ordered blackened local fish (yellowtail snapper) with fries and cole slaw and shared keylime pie for dessert.
