Got the ricotta, pesto and marinera slice... INSANE! I don't even like pesto much. The garlic knows and garlic bread looks amazing as well. The food comes out quickly and they have soft drinks. It's definitely a take out place, a counter - I'm not even sure if they have seats. I took it to go, and ate it at Donnybrook at the corner. We stopped by after a night out, so definitely a somewhat biased/not entirely right of mind review. Not the cheapest slice at 5 dollars a slice, but it was honestly pretty good in the moment. The dough was a little too crackery for my taste; had no bite or chew to it, but just cracked and crumbled. Felt as if they overbiased on the thin crust, and basically just made a cracker pizza. The toppings felt quite fresh, and had good flavors throughout. Will definitely be back if I'm in the area, craving a late night slice! read more

Had two square slices. It was chicken, broccoli, and what I can only assume was greek yogurt. It had the texture and taste of it but it also felt like ricotta? Either way, it was very very good. Was really surprised by how good. That ingredient mixed really well with the red sauce. Crust was just right: thin but not cracker thin, and it still had a crunch. Service was solid. No complaints, and the ambiance was familiar, like any pizza spot in NY. But don't let that fool you, because the pizza I had was above average. read more

Not the best NY pizza that you will find, but when you have had a few drinks and want a snack before bed, you might think it. Perfect crunch on the bottom, delicious and flavorful sauces. I'm so grateful to Square Pizza being open late into the night/morning. This has become one of my most visited pizza establishments in NYC because of its convenience, variety/ scrumptiousness of each slice, and friendliness of the staff. Let's start with the most important topic- the PIZZA! I have only arrived to this establishment after midnight and often they do not have all of the pizzas that are on the menu out for purchase- literally what you see is what you can get. However, you can't go wrong because all of their pizzas have been DELICIOUS. I love that the staff is so friendly, even in the wee hours of the morning. They have always been accommodating to my friend and I who insist on adding hot honey to whichever slice we order. This pizza establishment needs to be on your list of places to go to when it is late at night. After trying many that are open past midnight, this is the one I seek out. My new favorite pizza spot! The crust is thin and crispy, their veggie slice is loaded with lots of veggies on top - just the way I like it. The employees are always super nice as well. I've only been here twice; the second time was two days after and I came in to try the Spicy Mexican slice. As good a NY slice as I've ever had. $2.50 for a "regular" (cheese) slice. The crust was the perfect NY firm bottom and the sauce was the star. The service was fast and friendly. It's a take out place with a few seats and is bright and welcoming. read more

Needed to eat a late dinner since I just flew in. This pizza place was near where I was staying, was open and checked off the NY pizza item in the "to eat list". They're a small shop with just some bar seating and outside tables. The pizza is displayed and they have a variety. I tried the margherita, pepperoni, and sausage pizza slices. When they come out of the oven, they're hot and crispy and taste awesome. I'm not a fan of the ricotta cheese and the pizza was just ok after it cooled down. So, it's best to just eat it there. read more

I've ordered delivery twice from square pizza NYC, the first time was good, the second time was probably the worse pizza I've had in 15 years, and the first pizza where I couldn't even finish a slice. Pizza arrived cold, it was half cheese half pepperoni and the pepperoni side was covered with pepperoni's stacked on top of each other. The pizza was so greasy, and had clearly sat so long that some of the grease had congealed on the pizza, and had turned the overall texture of the pizza into mush The pizza arrived after about 45 minutes, but I'm pretty sure this was an old cheese pizza they cooked a few hours earlier, then threw a pile of pepperoni's on one half of it, and then sent off to be delivered, because the pepperoni's were just piled on one side of the pizza and it didn't look like they were cooked with it read more

Who doesn't love pizza? I would go to the ends of the world if I had to--in order to find a good pizza place. Once upon a time, good pizza places were plentiful in Lower Manhattan--not anymore--Square Pizza is among the most disappointing. To begin with, it arrived lukewarm, but I didn't mind since it was about 90 degrees outside. The crust had a weird texture. Thin crust, but it was soggy and grainy at the same time--the texture you usually get with day old pizza. Now for the taste test--mama mia--this is bad!!! Bland!!! No flavor!!! How can you possibly ruin such a simple dish! I will however give them one more try, perhaps they were having a bad day or the chef got sick! It happens to the best of us and in view of the previous positive reviews I think I owe it to myself--a real pizza lover! read more

Beautifully pillowy crust with a fiery char, and there's a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity from the tomato and savoriness from the pesto. We were curious about the white pizzas so we tried the norma and that one was nice as well with a lot of textures from the eggplant and tomato. Personally prefer the margarita as it seems to be a more well-rounded pizza and the tomato just can't be missed. It was pretty packed inside when we got there and took the bar seating, so would probably recommend a reservation for larger parties (2+) on evenings. Definitely one of my top neopolitan pizza spots in NYC!

We started with two fabulous drinks: An Espresso Martini and their signature Limoncello Margarita. We shared the Shaved Brussel Sprout Salad and it was fabulous. The bits of bacon, combined with the spiciness of the pepper spices, made this a perfect starter. The entree was also shared and it was the Spicoli 2.0 Pizza. I cannot recommend this pie, enough. You will taste flavors that you've probably never experienced before with a pizza. Also, the different textures of the arugula, creaminess of the cheese, and the perfect crust will make it a memorable selection. For dessert, we shared the Buttermilk Panna Cotta. Each spoonful of those strawberries, dancing with the firm custard and glaze, made this a stupendous cap to the meal.

At least the spaghetti is cooked to a nice al dente and mellow garlic butter flavor, but like the sauce cooked in, it is also minimal. Part of the problem I feel is they are trying to go for a vibe that has a New York and modern feel. It does not work. Stay true to one or the other. Or at least look at other business models. I will use another pizzeria in Bushwick that exemplifies it perfectly. It is a hipster pizzeria in a hipster neighborhood. Through balance, it creates an ambiance both welcoming and warm without losing any of its Bushwick character. It does this by not beating you over the head with hipster vibes, just enough to let you know that you are in Bushwick. The band Franz Ferdinand was playing as I was wrapping up.
