This pizza joint has been serving up pizza reliably for a few years, at least 8. I was so pleasantly surprised to find that the pizza I ate while living in this part of the city when I was pregnant 8 years ago is still there. Survived the pandemic, yay! After searching for food options in this area and coming up with nothing that easy or accessible, I remembered to search directly for Lunetta's, and it came up. There was crazy jack-hammering construction happening on this block, but I persevered to grab 2 pepperoni slices and a can of pop from the fridge. I forgot how large a NYC pizza slice is, and I found that I could only eat 1 at a time. The other slice I wrapped up and enjoyed the next day. I liked the delicious cheese, the grease which did not drip, the perfectly spaced pepperonis, the crust that held up properly in order to eat the slice with one hand, and the crust that was tasty enough to eat on its own. Hubby and I were in the city and had to use the bathroom badly. I don't like going into places to use their bathroom without buying something so I ordered two slices before using their bathroom. I'm glad I did. We ended up snacking on a slice while we went to our other destination. It definitely kept us satisfied for the trip. The pizza was not the best I've had. Terrible service. My order is over an hour late. No one answering phones. They seem to have outsourced delivery to uber.

We couldn't eat the eggplant parmigiana delivered to us last evening. We threw it away. When we called them to tell them how unhappy we were with it after having ordered it for many years, they showed no interest whatsoever. That's the last order they will have from us. read more

The Margherita slice is my favorite here. Jose, a server, knows that I like my slice cut into small pieces which I eat with a fork and knife. This would cause shock among New Yorkers but this is how I have eaten pizza in many countries. I find the pizza sauce a touch sweet. There I are many varieties of pizzas made here and business is always brisk. There is plenty of seating here and a fender neutral clean restroom in the back. read more

Lunetta Pizza is a favorite spot for the Epiphany School! As teachers, we frequently order from them whenever we have faculty meetings. The pizza is great quality, really fresh ingredients. The employees are so friendly and kind. They were more than willing to donate over 40 pizza boxes to our fourth grade classroom for a project we were doing on fractions. The manager let us know that they have unfortunately been grouped with 2 other Lunetta Pizza's that have the same name but they're not under the same management. This is the OG Lunetta!!!! Food was good food was not an issue at all. The men working there were very mean to a handicap man. The handicap man was sitting at the door falling asleep. This man was in a wheelchair and the gentleman that works there yelled at him For sleeping. He stated to the gentleman, "If you want to sleep you can sleep outside." An odd relation of tough and elastic, really had to pull and chew, let's face it pizza is dough and this was bad. Sauce: 6, flavorful, not much of it. Cheese: 7, plenty of cheese, good Value: with delivery fee, tip, and service fee $36.30, a bit pricy for an average pie with only cheese for a topping. One of the best slices of pizza I've ever had. The chicken vodka slice is so good I came back the next week for it. Honestly the other slices are good but not as spectacular (I also had the buffalo chicken and rainbow slice). It's great especially for before or after a night out. The staff is friendly, but it can be a little hectic because you tell one person what slice you want and they put it in the oven then you tell another person what slice you got and pay, all while you're waiting for the slice in the oven. Surprised at all the hate of this place. Sure, it's not the absolute best quality food I've ever had, but the price is more than right: a $12.50 chicken parm dinner that could easily feed 2-3 people? Unbeatable. $5 orders of mozzarella sticks, garlic knots for $2...You can feed a whole family for under $30. The chicken parm is GREAT but super saucy (for me, a good thing, but I understand it's not for everyone). Garlic knots and mozzarella sticks are delicious. The chicken piccata I had last was incredibly yummy but I have a feeling that was largely thanks to it swimming in butter. Definitely an artery-clogger. Despite numerous complaints regarding delivery reliability, I've personally ordered half a dozen or so times and have seen others order too and there has not been a single issue. The delivery always comes on time and piping hot (like...sometimes too hot. Shockingly hot. Needs a disclaimer to avoid tort hot). It started with a single plain slice, bought only because I needed change for a ten. I was going to get a candy bar or something at 7-Eleven, but the door to Lunetta was open, and the smell was so inviting... Not normally one to eat while standing on the sidewalk, I pushed back against my fear of becoming a messy spectacle just enough to introduce myself to what I think is amongst the best pies in the area. It's my favorite by far, but everyone has an opinion, and you know what they say about those. However, when that slice from the counter is reheated in the pizza oven, the bottom crust fractures in your mouth, and I find that extremely appealing. It doesn't travel as well as I would like, but few pizzas do, so ordering a whole pie isn't really the same experience. It's still very good, but reheating at home, even with convection, doesn't recreate the magic. On the other hand, you get the pleasure of trying to fit an 18" pizza box into your fridge, which for me involves some modifications. And ordering delivery does have its upsides, such as the luxury of time to explore the variety of toppings, all of which have been thus far fresh and abundant. It also must be noted that they have very good hot subs, and the absolute best cheesesteaks I've yet to eat in New York. That includes the Tony Luke's across from Barclays Center, and Fedoroff's in Williamsburg. Having lived in Philly and grown up in the more garden-y part of the Garden State, that's really the highest praise I could offer. They also do a mean Tortellini Primavera in vodka sauce, which is almost a guilty pleasure. Having only lived in the neighborhood for five months, I feel extremely fortunate to have stumbled upon this spot so soon, because it would have been easy to stay settled with slightly closer and more well known offerings. No offense, Joe, but Lunetta has it all over you in every way except location. read more
