I'm a traveler and foodie. Always seeking the best that a city or town has to offer. Not only is Squire House the best restaurant in Bozeman, it might be the best restaurant I've ever eaten in. Upon entry we were greeted by Tanner. We asked if we could give the menu a quick scan as we weren't sure if we'd ultimately stay. The menu boasted salivating options so we were quickly sold. The owner, Michael, wound up seating us and treated us to some great conversation about life in Bozeman and all it offers. He also shared some menu tips and we'd have been remiss to ignore his suggestions! We started by sharing the Brussels Bravas and wow! Those were excellent. They utilized unique flavors instead of relying on the standard bacon trimmings and drippings. They were crispy and just full of bright flavor. It's a great app that won't overfill you. And believe me, you HAVE to save room for the entree. I ordered the scallops w risotto and my friend the salmon. If only I could experience that first bite of scallops a million times more. I know that Montana is steak country, but Michael and his team know how to prepare stellar seafood. This scallop cut like butter. And while they were perhaps the star of the dish, the risotto was just as strong. Prepared to perfection. The fragrant flavors were savored via smell before taste. As if we weren't treated to enough of a five star experience, Michael insisted that we save room for the chocolate pot de creme. I was intimidated by it because it was made with chili flakes, but, intimation quickly turned to delight. The chocolate was sweet but tamed due to the chili. It was a warm flavor, but not spicy. The actual best part though was the house made whipped cream. Cool whip has no home in this kitchen. The service from Tanner was excellent. The service from Michael, the owner, was above and beyond expectations. This man knows no strangers, only friends. I felt like more than a dining patron here. Strange to say, but I was made to feel like family. Stray from Main Street and make your way to squire house. It's the best Bozeman advice you'll get.

Ask for Jim! He's a fantastic server and a down home Montana man. The menu items are delicious! The Brussels sprouts make a great starter. The star of the show for me, though was the green bean casserole. This ain't your mamma's cream of mushroom soup y'all... it's good eats.

Any place that offers up fare from local game is a must check out. They have jazz going in the background with the Sunday night game on tv, it's a bit quiet and apparently the mussels sell out before the end of the weekend. The menu rotates frequently, the current menu shows the dates Oct 1-31. For me it was a toss up between seared scallops, seared duck (local), or elk bolognese and I opted for the elk since it's hard for me to get. It tasted a bit salty at first, maybe the pecorino or maybe the pappardelle soaked it up but the end result was fantastic, enough so that on my way east I will stop for the seared duck. I had the old fashioned for a cocktail. Other than waiting for my drink, which was not a big issue it is a fantastic place to stop on your way through or for a date night since the place has fantastic ambiance.

Free-Range Chicken French Onion Soup Tempura Green Beans

Ordered the Free Range Chicken $25, Tempura Green Beans $11, and French Onion Soup $10, all for takeout. This is how it looked. 2 stars because it was warm.

My favorite thing we had! The blue cheese arancini - YUM!

Checked out Squire House for the first time tonight. After a long day of traveling, we were stoked to find a nice restaurant on the ground floor of the Element Hotel - our go to place to stay when in Bozeman. Upon entering, we were warmly welcomed by several staff, including the proprietor himself. We were offered our pick of where to sit, and then kindly led to a table in a quiet corner of this sleek yet comfortable restaurant. The husband ordered an Old Fashioned, which was easily the best I've ever tasted. Not shockingly, I had some chardonnay. Starters included the crispy Brussels with the sauces on the side (great tip that came from a fellow Yelper - brilliant!). The lemon aioli was fairly tasty but the brava sauce was actually pretty meek - uninspired and lacking flavor, as if it came straight from a can of tomato paste. The only real disappointment in the entire meal, which in itself is the upshot. On the flip side, the blue cheese arancini were my favorite thing by far! They were perfectly prepared and that diavolo marinara packed a potent punch in just the right way. Mmmmm... For our mains, he went with the elk bolognese while I opted for the seared sea scallops over wild mushroom risotto. Both were very rich and delicious. The risotto was just a tad under, but not crunchy. The depth of flavor made up for it, as did the sweet scallops expertly cooked. My one regret was ordering so much that we were too full to order one of their dessert offerings. Next time! We enjoyed our experience here, especially the friendly service. When we departed, both our server and the owner bid us a terrific visit during our time in Montana. Thank you, Squire House, for the warm hospitality and good grub!

One beignet (Order comes with five)

I only had dessert & a glass of wine here, but the customer service and apple & gruyere turnover were both fantastic! I was torn between the turnover (not a standard dessert choice) or the beignets. The employee I asked for help with deciding must have seen how torn I was about it he offered me the option of bringing just one beignet out with my turnover Both desserts were fantastic though I still wouldn't be able to pick which one to order! Next time I'm in town, I'll have to check out their regular menu, but this was a great nightcap.

This place is hands down one of the best restaurants in Bozeman. The cocktails are phenomenal, appetizers were delicious, and the food was Devine. It is a must if you want great food with an excellent atmosphere!! Highly recommend!

Amazing food all around. Brussels bravas were crispy. Elk bolognese was served with the perfect pappardelle. Cocktails were delish. Staff was warm and friendly. Michael the owner even came to our table and chatted with us for a while.

I walked in the back and saw a cat throwing up on my food, best cat throw up I've had both sides of the Mississippi.

it used to be such good food, now the food is horrible, the portions are almost worse, and the service was embarrassing as a bozeman local.

Great food Great…read morevibes Good service This place can be girls night out, dude meet up, family gatherings or date night. The wait is not that long.. we came here as walk in's 2x on our 1week stay that started in Bozeman, went down to Yellowstone, then to Idaho for UTV riding and then to Jackson Hole WY to go see the Teton National Park. It was nice to walk around the local shops while we waited and then afterwards to work off those delicious carbs. Thin crust pizzas clean, fresh, not heavy and seasonal ingredients. The crust is soooo good. Chewy and some char. We had: Montana Burger Royale My teen son dreams about this. Yes its 27.00 and he said its the BEST burger he's ever had. I would have to agree (and we live in Austin TX where there's great cow) -the burger meat melted in your mouth -the egg dripping as you break the yolk was perfection. The bacon so juicy, the brioche bun (that was the winning touch) We shared: Hot Honey Pizza- so good 9/10 Spicy Burrata- also great. 8/10 Mac n cheese- that was the only miss. Way under seasoned and the white sauce seemed to get sucked up by the pasta so the dish was super dry. 3/10 Frites and Fondue- fries were great. Thick cut with finely shaved pecorino. Could have used a heaping more of the shaved cheese. -the fondue was ok, seemed still under seasoned or just not creamy enough? I'd swap that for some roasted garlic with the truffle oil. 6/10 Local brews and ciders were great! 9/10 Huckleberry Cheesecake 9/10 save room for this bad boy. We split it between 4 people. Not too sweet. Tart and delightful! The world cup was on the TV so it was a hopping place even as it rained during a late June evening. Parking garage nearby is free for 2hrs so thats cool! Come DT BZN and support local!

Wasn't sure if we should order one or two because the sizing wasn't clear, but a lot of reviews mentioned the pizzas are more around the personal size. I'd say two people could probably share a pizza no problem. We got the vodka pizza, added Italian sausage, as well as the pepperoni. The three of us nearly polished off both pizzas. The pizzas were good, but the undercarriage was pretty floppy, which made me think it probably could have cooked maybe a tad bit longer. They have some good looking pasta dishes as well!

This is another restaurant that would do well with a cocktail menu but they do have a good natural wine selection. We didn't partake but it looked pretty diverse and well selected. They provide a carafe of water on the table, which was good given the service. Service was a bit spotty and kind of slow. We didn't see our server much and the food was pretty slow to come out. However, they were extremely busy, so I can forgive it a bit. The menu was interesting and the food was pretty good when we got it. I will say there were hits and misses though. The hummus and sourdough pita was excellent. Fried delicata squash was so good, I made a roasted version for Thanksgiving. My husbands burger was excellent but the house made ketchup was borderline disgusting. It was cold, unflavored tomato sauce. Not so good. I got steak with pasta and my pasta was severely undercooked. I would have said something but our server was pretty unavailable. We didn't want to stay for dessert and I'm glad we didn't because the check took forever to get to us.
