Extremely good and fresh! I had the The Skipper and I highly recommend it, the grilled veggies amazing, the fish and shrimp were tender and juicy, and the sauce was very light but flavorful! I should start by saying that I'm appreciative that this restaurant is open later than most in Branson. It's hard to find a place for dinner after 8 PM anywhere near the strip. I had the cheesy chicken rice. It came with seasoned grilled chicken, wild rice, and vegetables, all covered in spicy queso. The queso wasn't super spicy or anything. It was all pretty good. The service was really nice. Jeremy was a great server. Our food was delivered via a robot, holding a tray, so that was a fun and unexpected treat. I'm sure we will go here again in the future. My son and husband loved their chicken strips. They were hand cut and hand breaded, and they looked delicious. Even if you don't like seafood, give this place a try. They have quite a few options for non-seafood items! The restroom is clean and well stocked. The restaurant is large enough to accommodate both small and larger parties. Had seen this on our Table Rock Lake group they have three locations on the water and in town. We decided while we were in tow to stop by. It was early afternoon so we were seated immediately. We chose to sit in the bar. Our waiter Justin was awesome. He was funny talkative gave us lots of information on the place answered all our questions, told us about the food and the Famous Sweet Pepper Shrimp. He also suggested his great Bloody Mary he makes so I said sure. It was good.! I ordered the trio shrimp substituted the fried shrimp for blackened added a skewer of the Sweet pepper shrimp My husband ordered the burnt ends (bbq) Justin explained the process of the meat. Fast forward to the food. It had big portions fries were great as well. My food was extremely good Catfish was good real catfish the Sweet Pepper shrimp was as told award winning. My husbands burnt ends I'm not really a person who like this but I really liked it. It almost melted in your mouth it was that tender and that good. We took home left overs and even reheated it was very good. Oh and the owners son was there (helping cause they can't get enough help cause no one wants to work anymore) he was a very nice down to earth hometown young man. Enjoyed talking to him. Told him he needed a place at Indian Point. We talked briefly and He thanked us for coming in. My suggestion is don't listen to any negative post on this place it was great there was another couple in there who apparently are regulars so it can't be bad. Help will always be an issue just realize that at any business people can stay home and make more money these days and no one wants to work. So the ones working are working tons of OT and doing the best they can cut them and the business some slack. Bottom line this place is a two thumbs up. We're locals, so we've been wanting to dine here for awhile. We were greated as soon as we walked in the door & shown to our table. Very clean & laid out nicely with cool decor. Our drinks & appetizer (crab stuffed mushrooms) came out quickly & not long after that our Crab legs & Shrimp trio came out (a little robot brought it from the kitchen). Victoria was our server & she was awesome. Our drinks were HUGE, so we never needed refills, but she checked on us frequently & made sure we had everything we needed. What a great experience. Everything was on point & we'll definitely be back. We highly recommend SS Dockside to everyone. Whom ever says Branson doesn't have good seafood has obviously never eaten here. read more

So never being deterred by inane comments like there is no dock at the SS Dockside cafe (inland) and reading about the new wait staff like Amber and the long wait times AND understaffed help we rolled the dice and tried an early dinner here yesterday! There was no wait and we were seated promptly. They were certainly understaffed with wait staff! Being in the business you can't overload limited waitstaff and limited prep and back end people. People are humans not robots! We laughed when a smiling nice young lady came up to our table! Greeted us and I smiled and said you must be Amber and how is your ninth day at the dockside? She looked puzzled!? Asked us how did you know my name (no name tag!) we told her and she laughed! Learning a new computerized system called toast is hard enough but when you are new it's even harder when demanding customers don't get it! She was efficient and friendly! As for the food, we ordered the sweet pepper shrimp (8 extra large and fresh) that came with wild rice and mixed vegetables ( we substituted mashed potatoes (love the carbs) easily))! Also ordered the fried butterfly shrimp! Seven I think but I can't count anymore with the new math! Lightly breaded! Came with a ton of hot french fries , side of good coleslaw! Both came out quickly and hot! We enjoyed both dishes but especially the sweet pepper shrimp! The only blip on the day was the wild rice came out cold! Our sweet Amber quickly replaced it with a hot side order of same! Thus, the four stars! Amber must have learned a whole lot in three days! We would have hired her on the spot! For those of you out there especially the Sunday crowd, it's important for you to know that these servers are paid $2.17 an hour and depend on tips to try and make a living while the dullards and lemmings of the world expect to be waited on hand and foot and then give a worthless fiat dollar or two on a $24 dollar tab! A bigger chuckle is that only 7% of the less than ten percent goes to the server herself! Rest goes to bussers and bartenders! Try this place! We went here because the guy at the hotel suggested it. My food was okay. It was mostly fried and I enjoyed it. My wife ate healthier and she hated hers. Her baked fish was dry, the vegetables were too steamed and soggy she hated it. The service was okay. The ambience was dark. The most negative part was our bill for two meals and ice tea was $65 before a tip. Branson has great places to eat, this is not one of them. If I were you I'd avoid this overpriced place. read more

I had the Skipper, a grouper dinner, and it was so very tasty and superb in comparison to fish meals that I've ate throughout traveling to different states and coasts! My husband loved and enjoyed the seafood boil! He couldn't eat it all! The restaurant had a nice blue light, calm, and relaxing ambience. The employees, manager, and robot that delivered our food was top-notch and just super friendly and welcoming! The manager even treated us with a complimentary chilled shrimp cocktail! Horrible service. Not great food. Certainly severely overpriced. Anywhere else in Branson would be better. We just wanted a nice, quiet meal after a show. The waiter was rude, the food was not great and made us ill. Our server, Jeremy, immediately got off on the wrong foot when he approached our young son for his order without acknowledging the rest of our group. When my wife informed him she would handle our son's order, Jeremy ignored her. Our appetizers came out at different times. The nachos had not been heated at all. The ground beef in the nachos was rancid. Jeremy finally brought out plates for the appetizers a few minutes before the main dishes arrived. The only good thing I can say is the waiter was very nice. We got there at 6 PM on a Thursday in the summer. The restaurant was half empty. The silverware was dirty. I ordered a Sprite and it had a lemon seed in it. We ordered fried pickles, and they were cold when they came out. We ordered crab dip and it had no crab in it. It tasted like cheese and mayonnaise. Even the tortilla chips tasted stale and oily. Our silverware was dirty. We ordered crab legs, but they were so watery and falling apart. It was clear they had been frozen for a while. And the dipping butter was in no way clarified butter. The floors were sticky. We waited almost an hour for our food, and when we threatened to leave, it magically appeared. I almost warned the people walking into the restaurant from the parking lot to leave. Do not eat here. Feels like a tourist trap from 30 year ago on its last legs. We came to SS Dockside for a late night meal in Branson and they did NOT disappoint! Staff was friendly, decor/atmosphere was cool... they followed the seafood theme but didn't go too hard into kitschy. Our server Victoria was super sweet and easy to talk to. This was the first time I'd ever been served by a robot server too! (Our human server still took the orders and did most of the work but the robot delivers the meals to the table.) Food came out really fast, almost too fast but it was all really good! ALSO... There was a cute older fella walking around taking photos of each group in their booth to give them a little Branson memory to take home... he was so sweet and when he brought back the finished product he'd even put a little seaside background on it, you can tell he really put a lot of effort into it! Our first visit to Dockside and we were pleasantly surprised. We were seated right away on Friday evening around 4:30 PM and ordered the coconut shrimp with potato salad and cole slaw. Another ordered the Atlantic Salmon with green beans and rice. Our meals came out in less than 10 minutes and were hot and tasted very good. There was a large tour group that came in after us, so I was glad we got there when we did. But, it looked like there were several servers taking care of them. Started off with getting our drinks, I got a lemonade that was super sweet you couldn't even drink it. Then we got the Captions Boil, Crab and Shrimp boil, and the Dockside burger. My brother asked for no pickles on his burger and the waiter didn't listen and they still put pickles on it. We showed up and a male server was seating and hosting at the same time (it was 12:00PM on a Wednesday). There was one table eating and he gave us our drinks only for mine to be mostly carb water. He acted like he couldn't tell there was clearly half a cup of carb water in my clear glass. Then wouldn't you know it a bus of old people walked in. He started to basically freak out and we decided to pay for our drinks and leave. The server became very snippy with my wife when she explained we would go elsewhere. So we were seduced by simple advertising on the outside of the restaurant building that said burgers and nachos. I thought this might be a nice alternative from Chilies with a seafood slant. My kid had the kids chicken strips and fries. Its hard to screw that up so all was good. My wife had the salmon and she said hers was good. But now....downhill from 4 to 2 stars. First of all, the nachos were just....boring. I could order the same at Applebee's or maybe even Dennys. Boring canned salsa. Boring thin white chips. Ground beef. And maybe its just me, but I like my cheese yellow not white.. maybe quality Bandon Cheddar Cheese. Guacamole anyone? Not here. Do you think I'm too harsh? Well, there is more. Soon after the waiter took our order, some guy came to our table and asked if he could take our picture. Really? This is just like I'm on a cruise ship. Crass commercialism in Branson. We said "ok" just to be nice, but said "no" when he brought the framed picture to our table and wanted $30 for it. But thats not all. Next comes the balloon guy with different tiered pricing to make balloon animals for the kid. Who do these people think they are? I guess it must be working or they wouldn't be doing this stuff, which sort of indicates I'm really in the wrong town...or at least I need to get off the Branson strip. And finally, to top everything off....guilt tipping. This is where the waiter brings his portable visa machine like a Square, to our table and stands there while I decide the tip amount. (He's not going to leave, and stands at our table until I figure the tip amount) Let's see...20%? 30%? I think he came by twice to ask us if everything is ok. Once I key in a modified tip, I sign it and press the receipt button. Then he takes the visa machine from me and goes somewhere else to fetch an actual paper receipt. I will not go to any restaurant who uses guilt tipping. To sum it up...there was nothing special here. There were just 2 other customers here and it was a Friday at 2pm. read more
