This is one of the cutest little cafés in the mission. I've only been there in the daytime to work so I can't really comment on how busy it is on the weekends, but it's a great place to set up a computer get some coffee and enjoy the day while working, especially if the weather is good and you can sit in the gorgeous outdoor part. When they say "A WHOLE EGG" they literally cut a perfect circle in my thick slice of toast and put the egg inside (pretty cool!). It was a simple breakfast, nothing filling. I did not feel heavy after eating. HOT COCOA (~$2+) - off the caffine and had to go with a different hot beverage. cocoa was creamy and smooth. they did not and nor did i, add any sugar. servered in a glass cup with a cool crooked spoon. PELLIGRINO (~$2) - ordered me some snotty water to quench my thirst. It was lunchtime and other people around me have ordered lunch items. I am a fool, i totally should have ordered a lunch item. They looked healthy and filling and the sandwiches look great. I suggest coming here to get lunch over breakfast. Will I be back? Yes (for lunch). Really awesome breakfast! I got the Nono, which is an open-faced sandwich with eggs, cheese and tomatoes. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the cheese was melted on the baguette. I enjoyed the coffee here at well- I got a black coffee and it was delicious. The back patio to Stable is shared with a succulent nursery, and there's plenty of space inside and out. Yummy place to have brunch! I'm a sucker for eggs. I was initially going to get a plain old sandwich and add an egg but the Croque Madame was on display by the register and that beautiful sunny side up egg lured me into its grasp. My Croque Madame was yummy and very flavorful. The egg didn't disappoint however my only complaint is that it was a little too "oily" for my liking. By the end of my dish, I could see all the left over oil on my plate which kind of turned me off :/ Also the bottom layer of my bread was soaked and soggy by the end as well. It's one of those places. Have you been outside of your usual neighborhoods. You find a place to have coffee and fall in love with everything about the cafe... To the point you start to get excited every time you have an appointment in that part of town - so you can go back, try something new and love it all over again. This is that place. As a result, the street is kind of iffy, but the second you get inside, the cafe is well tended, beautiful, and airy. It seems like a mini-oasis/garden, which you never want to leave. The sandwiches took a while to come out, but they were very yummy, and came with salad on the side. We had one veggie panini (zucchini) and one roast beef with brie, home-made mustard, and portobello mushroom. I'm not sure why it should have taken so long. The tables outside have the right combination of sun, shade, and lack of wind, but they were wobbly and the one of the chairs at our table was missing a rung (complete with dangerous metal nubs sticking out). We enjoyed overhearing an animated conversation at the table next to us. On a second visit we might try sitting upstairs instead. read more

I really liked the vibe here. You order before finding a seat and you should be able to find one by the time you order. The layout is pretty cool with some tables inside (small section upstairs and a couple on the ground floor) that seem pretty nice to chill and do work at. There's also a bunch of seating outside to enjoy with your four legged friend. The eggs were pretty fluffy and if you ask for a bagel with just eggs and cream cheese in it, then they give you A LOT of eggs - overflows and drapes over the bagel like a dress. Heads up, the large yogurt bowl is pretty big with tons of fruit and good for like 2 people. Lox bagel is filled with a lot of smoked salmon and the breakfast burrito is stuffed with eggs - satisfying breafast. I wouldn't say the food stood out to me that much. Dont get me wrong though. It was solid, good food with great presentation, and I really enjoyed it, but there wasn't anything especially unique. The service was pretty good too. [saturday, August 21] The patio area has a nice ambiance surrounding with several plants. We got a lox bagel, Luna, hot chocolate, and an espresso. Everything was decent enough for the price but that was my very first time to taste a SOUR cup of espresso. Thought it was because of their bad quality coffee beans but then I looked it up and according to our friend Google the espresso was under extraction! I'm so mad that I only just found out about this place. I've been twice now, and I love it. This place has indoor (second floor and first floor) and outdoor seating. The outdoor area is BEAUTIFUL. It's like in between two buildings and you are surrounded by beautiful trees, plants, and flowers. It's very instagramable. The food/coffee here is also wonderful. Tastes good, and the latte art is so pretty! I loved my vanilla almond milk latte - amazingly delicious. Their food is plated beautifully and I honestly don't think you can go wrong with any of their options. The staff is super patient/helpful/friendly. This review is specifically for people looking to book this venue for an event. I fell in love with the space and paid the deposit. A few months later, the pandemic became really serious and it was clear between the city lockdown and limits on gathering that we could not hold our event. I emailed Minah well over 90 days prior to the date and explained that due to this unprecedented situation with COVID that there was no way to safely hold our event and we would have to cancel. She explained that because the space is hurting for business, she was reserving just under 10% for "sales tax and credit card merchant fees" that had already been paid. I understand as a fellow small business owner that times are tough, but this is not the best business practice. If you are hoping to book an event here (and the space is still beautiful), make sure you will definitely not be financially affected by the pandemic before booking, as you will not get a full refund. Luckily I got my partial refund just in time to pay my rent, but even then the check was later than promised. read more

This review is specifically for Stable Cafe as a wedding venue (though I also love their coffee & breakfast as well!). We initially reached out to Minah to plan for a 2020 wedding and she was so responsive from the start. She worked with us on a custom proposal for the number of guests we needed (around 65 for both the ceremony & reception on site) and was very thorough in explaining different ways that you can use the space. The outdoor space is so gorgeous and lush with trees & greenery which is initially what drew us to this venue. We booked the space for August 2020 but unfortunately due to the pandemic had to reschedule for 2021, which Minah worked with us on and I really appreciate how flexible and accommodating she was. In the months leading up to the event, I frantically would email Minah my questions about logistics, floorplans, etc. and she was extremely helpful and reassuring. I really felt comfortable with her and trusted that she would help us execute a great wedding, and she did! Our wedding ended up being around 45 people, and we did the ceremony & reception all in the outdoor patio space, while using the back room for food/cake, and the covered fireplace area as a lounge space. We had dancing and dinner both outside which was a good move not just because of COVID concerns, but also because the outdoor area is just so beautiful. Our guests were really blown away at how beautiful the venue was, and it really made decorating easy & minimal because there's already so many interesting details at the venue (succulents, trees, string lights, etc!) Also, the location is great and our guests were all able to find street parking easily -- I was initially concerned about this but it wasn't an issue at all! We used Nopalito for catering (one of their preferred caterers, though you can also use outside caterers I believe) and they partnered with Stable Cafe staff very well to make sure everything was set up & transitioned smoothly. Minah was super accommodating to make sure the set up was how we wanted it. I loved working with her and really can't recommend this space enough as a wedding venue! read more

They had strong relationships with some of the regulars and even cooed a baby. I had the wrap, a few mimosas, and some fruit. Everything tasted great and fresh. There is an indoor area where you order with some seating available, but the mainstay is the outdoor space just to the right. Absolutely delightful cafe. The cafe itself is lovely, with a loft overlooking the small indoor space, and a large outdoor patio that is beautifully landscaped. So serene. The staff when we were there were all exceptionally nice. All a little quirky, but it was such a welcome change to visit a SF restaurant where the staff weren't exuding hate / pretentiousness.
