It was not busy on a weekday at 3pm but lady at the register was unfriendly and rude. We were waiting to order and she came up to the register but just stared at us.. Didnt greet us or ask if we were ready to order. We got the roast beef panini which was okay I noticed they have WiFi available as well as both indoor/outdoor seating so it could be a place for people to do some work but only within certain hours

Lynn F's love for Tarragon Cafe sent me in, finally! Tarragon Cafe has a very sweet collection of menu items to satisfy a diverse mood and taste: Soup and salad, frittatas, paninis, chicken Caesar, nachos, avocado toast, hummus plates, pain au chocolat, ham & cheese croissant, biscotti and all sorts of specialty coffees and teas. I enjoyed their New England Clam Chowder and salad, it was excellent. Their soup of the day- and I was torn between choosing- was Thai red curry. Service was warm and personal, ambiance was calm and welcoming. SFFD stopped in to pick up lunch and I thought that was another absolute vote of confidence in Tarragon Cafe. I love my neighborhood!

Every time I come here I am delighted with the vibes and food. The Caesar chicken wrap is a must try from the menu! There is loads of seating both inside and outside to enjoy your drink or meal.

The banh mi was delicious! I've had it twice and I can say it's delicious! It might not be an authentic one since this is a panini and not on a baguette but the pickled vegetables, and pork belly was delicious. I had a kale quinoa salad once and I do not enjoy it. It had lettuce in it and that was not appreciated by me. The service is quick and I love the location. Dogs are allowed outside but not indoor so I would call it dog friendly!

This place is great! The food is always tasty, always fresh. The service actually feels welcoming, and there's plenty of seating - indoors and outdoors. I stopped by today and tried the new breakfast tacos - YUM! I didn't expect such a treat on a random Wednesday morning, and it started to turn my day around for the better.

Decided to walk into this place because it smelled really good! I noticed a sign that there's no laptops on the weekend so I assume lots of people come here to work/study on the weekday. Walked up to the cashier and ordered an almond croissant and a chai latte. She rung me up. I was waiting for the croissant but it didn't seem like she was getting it for me. Also it wasn't busy, there wasn't a line forming behind me. Then people started rolling in when I was waiting. I asked the cashier that rung me up if she got the croissant I asked for and she flat out said no and proceeded to do what she was doing.. She barely even acknowledged me... Chai latte was ok. It's house made but too spicy(cinnamon) for my taste.

Such a good Chicken Caesar wrap. Everything you look for in a CCW. Tortilla was nice and warm, great wrap job, tons of chicken, croutons were crunchy until the end, lettuce very fresh and crunchy and perfect amount of dressing. Also comes with chips as a bonus. 9.6/10 wrap, I like it better than Mama's. If you're craving a CCW look no further than Tarragon.

Very cute and quick sit down lunch or just to sit and work! Plenty of seating indoors and some two person tables outdoors. On a sunny day, it's a lovely cafe to sit in and have a coffee chat. It's super close to Duboce Park too, so you can easily meander over there and dog watch after; people often bring their dogs to the cafe and sit outside as well. There's also live jazz on on Thursdays(?) at 5:30pm. I got the Caprese Panini ($14 + tax). The bread was super crispy and the pesto inside was delicious. There was a good ratio of mozzarella and tomato for me. Paninis come with a side of potato chips.

Great caesar wrap from a small, community cafe! Love stopping by to support their business when I can.

Came in around 1pm and there was a pretty big rush! We ordered quite a lot to try a bunch of different things. 1. Pork Belly Banh Mi Panini 2. Chinese Chicken Salad 3. Clam Chowder 4. Eggs and Bacon Everything tasted very fresh and very tasty! Interior was clean and I liked the open kitchen. Dog friendly with outdoor seating! Will be back~

I would classify coffee shop as your neighborhood cafe that is great to get some work done and not necessarily a spot with unique drinks. They do have a good selection of pastries for you to try from (unfortunately I was too full prior to try!) I do appreciate that they did have samples for you to try out. Something cool I noticed is that they did have individual mini water pitchers with mini cups for you to take from their sugar/milk station. It's very thoughtful and I appreciate the attention to detail. Not a spot to drive to or add to the list as a must try but if you need a spot to lock in, this is a good choice if you're in the area :)

I have gone to Blackbird a handful of times and have enjoyed the experience each time. Blackbird is primarily a bookstore, but they do have an outdoor window where you can order drinks ranging from matcha (Rocky's Matcha, if you're curious about which brand they use), lattes, and tea. They also carry a good amount of pastries (even mid-day, they have a lot of goodies), which I really appreciated. When you order your drink, you have to enter inside the bookstore to wait for your drink to be called, but you can take the time to stroll around and look at their book selection and trinkets. Heads up: the seating here is limited but very lovely. Inside, there are a couple of community tables, but their outdoor area is absolutely magical, with lush greenery and benches for you to enjoy your drinks. This time around, I got one of their seasonal drinks, a honey lavender vanilla latte, and I paired it with an Earl Grey olive oil loaf. The portion of the pastry was generous and moist, while the icing was not too sweet. Overall, a great pick for a cafe if you're in the area.

Matcha latte with whole milk : It's very savory which is great, unsweetened by default. I thought this was one of the better matchas I've had if you want to be able to taste the matcha strongly. Olive oil spelt cake: It reminds me of pound cake. Not that sweet except the frosting/icing. It was okay but as someone who's not as fond of that kind of cakey texture, I'd probably not get it again. They have a really lovely garden and patio in the back. There is also a bathroom. The acoustics and set up for events isn't great, though. It was hard for me to concentrate on the speaker for the book talk since you can hear the noises from the cafe behind and also the sounds of other store customers all around you. That was the only downside, but I think it's a very charming bookstore otherwise.

The matcha foam that goes on top is also not excessive while providing a more deep flavor profile that the actual drink lacks a little in. They do also have lids on a side table to allow for you to take your drink on the go with both a straw option and sip lid built into the same top.
