The outdoor garden is the perfect spot for breakfast when it's warm in SF. We had no trouble grabbing a spot to sit and stayed for over an hour. You order at the bar and they make the drinks right away and give you a number for your food. The cantaloupe agua fresca was so flavorful and refreshing. We ordered the smoked salmon tartine and the friend egg sandwich. The tartine was fresh and delicious, the herbed cheese was so soft . The lemon aioli was the highlight of the fried egg sandwich. Next time I definitely want to try the hot korean sandwich. As a treat we had the choco hazelnut croissant. sooooo good! Will definitely be back! read more

A lovely coffee shop off the beaten path. If you want a day retreat and good conversation with a pal in garden experience, or upstairs in a book this is the place for you . Good for small and medium sized groups. Lots of ample seating most of it outside so perfect for a summer day . Patient staff take your order , and they give you a number for food items which get you pretty quick . On this day I ordered a chai latte with soy milk , and ban mi chicken sandwich. The chai was not too sweet and had a nice flavor, and the ban mi chicken was exceptional . read more

Great spot with an outdoor area that is dog friendly! Came here on a busy late Sunday morning. Line was out the door but wasn't too long a wait, and it wasn't hard to find a table. I had a dirty chai and my bf the matcha. As for food, I had an avocado toast and he had the salmon tartine. We both loved what we ordered. The avo toast was nicely seasoned and had a sort of cream cheese underneath the avocado, which made for a yummy pairing. Staff was nice and the outdoor area was lovely. Parking a little difficult but we found a street with plenty parking a couple blocks down. read more

me and my hubby came here during our first ever visit to san fran !!! hubby is afraid of planes so getting him out of the oc is impossible !! but i'm his queen so he did for me. anyway, we went to stable cafe bc hubby wanted a cortado ( don't talk to him before he has had his morning cup of joe) we liked ourr coffees and sweet treats however they need to work on their efficiency. why is one person taking all the orders and making all the coffee?? my husband has gout and high blood pressure and can't stand for that long !!! once they get more organized we will be back. read more

Picture: lots of plants, tons of outdoor seating, and a full food and drink menu. Stable Cafe is the place to be on a sunny day. It's a great spot to hang out and catch up with a friend or read a book. I came here on a Saturday around 9:30 am. It was fairly quiet until around 11:00 am when the morning crowd came in, but it still didn't feel too crowded or overly loud. I ordered a matcha latte with oat milk. The drink was ready within minutes and cost around $6.50. The service was efficient and the staff was helpful. read more

Nice place where to catch up with friends like my husband and I did on Saturday for lunch with another couple and their kids. They have a nice patio with a lot of tables, so the space is big enough to go with the stroller if you have kids. The food is ok...we ordered the smoked salmon tartine that was good and the chicken salad sandwich (my husband ate it, but he wasn't his favorite). Prices are a little bit high for what you get, but at least the place is nice. read more

Wow! What a great visit to the Stable Cafe. I ordered their chai, Korean hot chicken sandwich, Reuben, ham and cheese croissant and cappuccino. Their cappuccino was tasty, very excellent and to my liking. The reuben was okay, in that the meat was OK, but the kimchi was delicious. The ham and cheese croissant was also very good. In terms of the environment, the plants make the ambiance super relaxing like a great place to do work. The outdoor area is awesome with lots of seating available and many people were doing work, spending time with their dog, and engaging in conversations. Lastly, did I mention their cappuccino? There are not many places that make a great cappuccino, but they definitely won it for me! Would definitely come back again to get another chai too. It was pretty tasty! A nice oasis in the city of San Francisco. It is right on Folsom Street, but you don't feel the road is busy and loud at all. There are plenty of out side sitting for a nice weather day. You see people bring their dogs there all the time. There are many plants inside to make you feel comfy and cozy. Coffee and pastries taste good and reasonably priced for San Francisco. read more

Holy beautiful garden! Serenity in the city! Discovered this place by accident and was stunned, it's everything that's missing in SF. A beautiful garden to have a delicious brunch which is absolute heaven on a slow weekend day when you have time to enjoy it. This cafe is a rare gem in San Francisco! It has upstairs seating and a gorgeous outdoor area. I saw plenty of people studying indoors and there was coverage outdoors for rainy days. The outdoor seating is super cute with string lights, succulents, and an outdoor fire place. They have some small succulents for sale outside. I think the food and coffee were average and a bit pricey for the portion. The egg sandwich was okay but it wasn't too flavorful. I would do bacon instead of avocado for more texture. The breakfast burrito was also lacking texture but the spicy dipping sauce was perfectly paired. I would love to come back for the ambiance. read more

What a gem in the city; a cafe serving Neighbor Bakehouse pastries and simple breakfast plates with an outdoor cozy patio caught my attention and appetite. We ordered two Pistachio Berry Twice-Baked Croissants, one Lox Bagel, a cold brew, and an extra hot Oat Milk latte. Coming to a total of $31 pre-tip, pricing is typical of SF as you order at the register and in exchange receive a number for your food, however for drinks you have to wait at the counter. For drinks, they take down your name instead of the number, which could be problematic if there are two people with the same name and order. There is an upstairs area to relax and enjoy some alone time, and two bathrooms in total-one near the patio and one next to the register. Stable Cafe's saving grace is their cozy backyard patio, which can also be reserved for special events. read more

I've been to this breakfast spot twice now, and I don't know if I would go back. The egg sandwich was nasty the first time I had it because I forgot to say fried hard. The second time, it was the lemon aoli. The service was amazing. The ladies were very nice and friendly. The ambiance was amazing. Such a cute place to hang out, work, and study at! I stopped by stable cafe on a Sunday and it was busy! Not so busy that it took forever to order but the right amount of liveliness! You order your drinks and food at the counter and then it's self seating. There are seats above the counter (upstairs) and a ton of outdoor seating! There's a bathroom and also an area to grab water and stuff! The food comes to you (they give you a number) but you have to grab your coffees at the counter! The food here is so good! I was pleasantly surprised! We got the avocado toast, overnight oats, and a yogurt bowl. The toast was def the winner! Coffee was great, iced americanos for the win! I'll have to try their other options next time. This place was larger than I expected and it felt so airy and inviting. Parking is a bit difficult as it's just street parking from what I saw. read more

This is the perfect place if you are looking for a casual, delicious brunch at a beautiful cafe! The food is excellent -- we enjoyed everything we ordered from the simple & tasty breakfast burrito to the beautifully complex sweet potato tartine. This is a great choice if you need a dog-friendly spot, as they have a large garden patio with amble tables and seating. Went back during the week and am happy to report no crowds. However, I am shocked there ever are crowds because the prices are insane. I got one latte and it was over $7.00!!! That is obscene. Yes, I had to pay more because they don't have skim milk and as a woman fighting breast cancer, whole milk is poison so I had to pay more for Oat milk. So I was penalized for having breast cancer and paid more. NEVER going back! read more

Sososososo cute!!! I love coming to stable cafe not only for the beverages but also for the vibes. This is one of the nicest places to catch up with friends or have some quiet time to yourself. We got iced lattes here, which were phenomenal. The coffee is top notch -- and this is coming from a coffee snob. I've even tried the chicken sandwich here and it's bursting with flavor. We usually come for coffee, but I do think the food options are solid. What really makes this place is the kind staff. They insistent of petting our dogs and giving them treats the first time we came, and they continued to recognise us and remember our dogs' names! Stable used to be a go to for brunch for their huevos rancheros, chilaquiles and solid coffee and mimosas but the prices are really hiked up and the portions are small. I get it when the ingredients are pricy, but these dishes use really humble ingredients. You go to Stable for the outside ambiance, it's nice and relaxing even though folsom and 18th can be busy, that particular spot is nice and kind of tucked away from the traffic. read more

I'm challenging myself to try everything on this menu by the end of the year. This is now my go-to Saturday morning spot. They have a gorgeous patio tucked to the side of the cafe that adds a special charm to the music, service, yummy coffee and goodies. Warm, cold - so many bites to choose from. Went with their hot almond milk latte and a strawberry cream cheese croissant. DELICIOUS!!!!! Give the spot a try. You'll be back every weekend. read more

(No Yelp rating needed because they ABSOLUTELY deserved it= NARI) I had a FRIED French Toast BECAUSE it cannot sit waiting to be served. My daughter had Eggs Benedict and the granddaughter had fresh fruit, fresh squeezed OJ in an ADULT glass (because she is a Big Girl now). While we paid our tab we heard a woman scream "I'm giving this restaurant a ONE STAARR REVIEW on YELP because of this WAIT!!!" OMG I thought someone had been ROBBED--but..on THIS Mother's DAY..it was only a spoiled young lady with poor manners. Later, another server took the same order without any issues, and the dish arrived exactly as written in the menu. Since it was clearly available, I never understood why I was told otherwise in the first place. As for the food, it was good, but it didn't quite live up to our expectations. Having experienced Creole food in New Orleans, we felt the flavors there were more balanced and memorable. Here, our main dishes were a bit saltier than we would have liked, and overall the food didn't stand out enough to make us want to return. The atmosphere was pleasant, and I can understand why the restaurant is so popular. However, after visiting, I felt that some of the hype may be bigger than the actual experience. I'm glad we tried it, but if you're already familiar with Creole food from New Orleans, you may find it less impressive than expected.

I actually don't mind that- almost half the people were not around and it made the wait go faster. But I was a bit annoyed they sat us at a counter without asking- it was fine but we were expecting a table and would have probably rather wait a little longer for one. They only asked about inside vs outside and we said either was fine but no indication that we needed to mention we wanted a table. Most places seem to give you the heads up and make sure it was fine. Oh well. Everything sounded great and "The Plow" included 2 lemon ricotta pancakes, 2 eggs, pork sausage (you can also get chicken apple sausage links or bacon), and potatoes. The one nice thing of the counter is you get to watch them make everything and it is so organized and efficient. Food was solid. The wait went by pretty quick and wasn't a factor for me. I thought the pancakes were just okay- with all the hype I guess I expected them to be amazing but I honestly make better lemon ricotta pancakes (LOL). I think they needed a lot more lemon zest, maybe a touch of sugar, and the salted butter sounds great but added literally nothing. Maybe it was an off day and they weren't bad my any means but definitely nothing special. Similar thoughts on the pork sausage which was maybe slightly overcooked and the eggs which were a little under seasoned and I prefer mine a bit runnier. The potatoes were excellent, I liked those a lot and their hot sauce is very good too. $27 for the plate which seems a bit high but it's brunch in SF and it's nice they have the option to get the savory stuff but also a couple pancakes. And considering a single pancake is $7.50 it seems like a much better option to get the plate (overall all their sides are almost laughably priced ordered a la carte). I will say they use nice ingredients and a lot of the same producers I try to support in my own shopping/cooking as well as the same type of practice like pasture raised eggs. That in itself makes me feel good supporting them. I'd consider coming back but would request to sit outside and enjoy the vibes, definitely get something with potatoes, and maybe some hot sauce to go. Three and a half stars, I rounded up for now and will re-evaluate after another visit.

Be prepared for soup explosion with every bite! The pan-fried dumplings were probably the best we've ever had. Not only were they delicious, but their unique shape made them stand out from the usual versions we've tried elsewhere. The steamed dumplings were equally impressive, soft, tender, and just as juicy. You'll want to bite into them carefully, unless you're like my husband and decide to pop the whole thing into your mouth at once. Another surprise favorite was the dan dan noodles. We loved that the noodles were served warm. Most versions we've had elsewhere are closer to room temperature, so this was a very nice surprise. Once mixed together, the dish was so flavorful. Our food arrived quickly, but midway through the meal we realized we had forgotten to order a vegetable dish. We added the stir-fried eggplant which unfortunately seemed to throw off the timing a bit and didn't arrive until near the end of our meal. By then, we were already stuffed, and the eggplant was a little too salty on its own. I think it would have paired much better with rice or noodles. Lesson learned for next time! We visited on a Thursday evening and were lucky enough to find street parking shortly after 6 p.m. We were seated immediately, but a line started forming not long after. So definitely come early!

The pigs ear dish doesn't taste properly cooked, it has a bit more funk than I liked, plus it was cut really sloppily. Overall was not a bad experience, but for the price and the waiting you could really get better dumplings at one of their other locations. You'll find better restaurant ambiance than this one which is usually super busy and majority outside seating.
