The tall blonde guy who works at the register cannot keep track of orders. He had a delivery sent out to the wrong house! He forgot to put in my order and had me wait over 30 minutes for fries! There were about two other customers agitated with him while they waited on their orders that were placed over the phone, in advance. Get off your phone and pay attention to paying customers! When I walked in and he was looking down on his phone and told me, "Give me two minutes" as he continued to text! My sister ordered folded Panko crusted avocado and instead received FROZEN meat tacos. She is veg and will not order from here anymore. It's a shame because I recommended the food to her. Also, the same guy insisted that I ordered sweet potato fries when he made a mistake. I brought it to his attention that I had asked for regular fries. Listen, people make mistakes but his arrogant attitude makes me want to stay clear from this place altogether. I was charged extra for something I did not order and I accused of lying about my order. I haven't seen a manager yet. Another time, he rudely told me to give him about 20 minutes to clear and separate one of the conjoined tables. There was no where to sit outside and I had to wait which I don't mind but his attitude is condescending. If you cannot keep up and provide a decent service then don't work in the food industry. I was also told he was not allowed to leave the register area to bring my food out. What?! There were two delivery boys standing behind the counter working at that time. **Edit; I recently ordered folded Panko crusted avocado and was served a forked salad. This is a great restaurant, they offer a nice variety of options and the food tastes great. I've had most of their salads and they are delicious. Customer service is good, but they don't always get the orders right. Other than that definitely give this place a try. I'm also very happy about their new Evanston location. read more

I'm giving three stars because the food is great and the owner has been so wonderful to work with when it comes to catering. (I manage a business in the area.) I placed an order online at 12:30, received an email confirmation that it would be ready at 1:01, so I get there at 1pm. The girl at the register asks for my name I give it to her and she can't locate my order and asks how I placed the order. I show her my order confirmation on the phone and she says "oh we're not taking orders through there today". Then she asks another girl and she confirms it. They tell me I can re-place the order but "it's going to be a while because they are busy". I proceeded to ask for my money back, and without flinching they said ok. No apologies, nothing. Upon realizing they needed help with the transaction they asked a gentlemen working behind them to do it for them. He asked why they were refunding me so I explained and he said they were taking orders from the portal where my order was placed. He looked over at the area where the to go orders were, and my order was there. He did apologize, I said thank you (I admit I was frustrated) and walked out. As I walked out, one of two girls loudly stated "sorry we're busy". Being busy shouldn't affect service recovery, or overall customer service. read more

I stopped in the other day and got carryout. I ordered the black bean burger with fries. It took me about a half hour to get home and it still tasted fresh and warm. Also, it was probably the most filling black bean burger that I've ever had! I had half for lunch and the other half for dinner. The cost was very reasonable, too. I've heard good things from friends and decided to try for myself. Smelled great inside. I got the short rib bahnmi w/ tater tots and it was delicious! I tried stacked & folded when it first opened and they were tweaking things a bit. sandwich selections and sweet potato fries were good then but I was really wowed on my last visit. The owner is super friendly and actually made an effort to chat & explain the new menu - they now offer stacked, folded or forked - aka on a bed of greens. I am so happy they added a salad selection & kids menu! I tried the ahi tuna poke and it was fresh, delicious and the perfect portion size. My son opted for the chicken fingers & fries - he is not the most adventurous eater but I'm hoping he will try one of the many offerings on our next visit. On our previous visit we tried the cheese steak, bahn mi and pork belly - yum! The inside is quaint but with ample seating. What a great addition to Winnetka! read more

I pull for all new restaurants to make it. Maybe because I secretly would like to own a restaurant some day. In college I worked in a few restaurants and know what it takes to succeed. Unfortunately I don't believe this restaurant will make it. What a nightmare experience. I witnessed about 10 failed customer experiences and the owner never apologized once. I try to over look things when restaurants are just getting started. The wait was very long and the food was just ok. The majority of the staff didn't speak English and the owner and the cooks were not communicating. One of the cooks was eating food while cooking ours. No thanks for coming. No nothing. When we were leaving a to-go customer was trying to communicate to one of the non-English cooks that his order was not right. I don't see this working out very well. Also, the exhaust fan didn't work very well and my entire family's cloths smell terrible. read more

Tried this place because of other Yelp reviews and so glad that we did. Large menu, lots of choices. Decided to go with the tacos; tried the chicken, the carne asada, the cajun salmon, and the fried avocado. My husband loved the carne asada and my favorite was the cajun salmon. The fried avocado was also excellent with a little bit of spice from the siracha. Didntvtey any salads or sandwiches but tacos were excellent. Great slaw complemented the amazing spices. They have a nice selection of atypical beverages as well. The only issue is seating. It is very small inside with only counter seating and two small tables. There is outdoor seating; but just a few small metal tables. Was a beautiful day so we decided to sit outside and it all worked out. Food overshadows lack of space. Definitely go try it! read more

If you are a heavy eater you might be disappointed by the serving size but I think it is perfect. Gets very crowded and seating is limited. There are some tables outside but still not too many. Found this place through Yelp, whilst staying at a nearby hotel. Being our first visit, we were a little confused and sat down, not realizing we had to order the food, then sit. The young man running the register and putting orders was delightful and polite. I ordered a lamb taco with all the trimmings and my hubby had the steak sandwich with sweet potato fries. The food was really excellent, and even though I always convince myself I'm on a diet, I really wanted to order another taco because it was absolutely delicious.
