The yelp photos were enough for me to drive southwest to dine at Stacked. Upon arrival we were greeted and told that the wait was around 30 minutes which was fine considering the fact that we came on an early Sunday afternoon. Stacked is small so we found a little corner to tuck into and wait. About a half hour later, we were seated and greeted by a friendly waitress who offered us beverages. We sampled the ole skillet, a southwestern montage of chorizo, hash browns, cheese, avocado, and eggs. My husband tried the stuffed French toast and the steak skillet. The presentation of the meal was beautiful, with each sizzling plate of rainbows of color brought to our table. We couldn't wait to dig in.... The Ole skillet, garnished with tortilla chips, was LOADED with hash browns. It was presented beautifully, but when I dug in, a good 90 percent of the skillet was shredded flavorless potatoes. I fished around for chorizo which was there...It was just very unbalanced. Pancakes came with the dish, but the pancakes were average at best. My husband liked the stuffed French toast and the steak skillet. I asked him if he would return and he said maybe. He said that the food was just ok. read more

I've been here a couple of times and the food and service was very good. I suggest anything in the French toast variety. The service was great and everyone was personably. The only complaint I have is about the bacon. Idk how they cook it or what brand they use but i recommend passing on that or trying the sausage. Over all I was pleased, and suggest trying them out. The owner of this restaurant is a fantastic person if you ever get an opportunity to speak to him. He previously owned the Orland Park Diner in the now defunct strip mall off of 143rd and LaGrange. I'd like to start with food is GREAT! I never have left feeling I've had a less then desirable plate. With that being said the staff is annoyed that you're there, annoyed that they're there, and annoyed that you asked for a refill on your drink. The wait can be long and that's ok but I've called ahead of time on a few occasions to ask when there least busiest time would be. I've been surprised with the response being bur-batam once "SIR HOW AM I TO PREDICT THAT!" (Accompanied with a belittling chuckle) and similar responses on other calls. Moral of the story is food is great but that won't be enough to combat the service. I can't say I'd never return but will NEVER dine in. Best breakfast place that I have been to. Too busy most of the time. They should get their crap together and buy out the place next door and expand because there is always a super long wait. The reason I gave this just four stars is that my experience is not spectacular because there is a constant wait on days where working people actually have time to go there. Regular pancakes are so awesome that I want to try the Oreo ones but don't want to give up the regular ones. Red velvet pancakes are super popular there as well. Corned beef hash is pretty decent. I don't like this place. They somehow couldn't be welcoming to my wife and me. We tried to go here twice and couldn't get seated. We were put in the waiting spot, and we watched nearly a dozen groups get seated before us. Many seemed to be family/friends/regulars. They were folks that must've been much more important than us. Finally was able to eat at this place after trying to go before work and it would always be overcrowded! I had the stuffed french toast with a side of crispy corn beef hash. It doesn't matter how good the food is, if the customer service sucks. I ordered from this place and they were missing an item from my order. I called to notify them, but they said they could only give me credit, which I wouldn't be able to use because I do not live near this place and probably wouldn't order from again. They said a manager would call me back, but no one ever did. I called every day for 4 days and still no call back. Arrived on a Friday morning at 10:30. Waited 30-45 (I didn't time it but was told it would be about that and it felt that long) until the buzzer went off. There were people waiting outside the entire time we were there and it grew as we ate. Maybe 10-15 people waiting outside. Tiny place inside but well organized. Clear pathway to the tables. My friend and I both ordered the Stacked Special. Mine with pancakes. Hers with French Toast. They came with eggs (I ordered mine scrambled), bacon and sausage.The eggs were fluffy like maybe they used milk? The bacon was very flat and had medium crispness. The sausage was plump and juicy. I definitely preferred the sausage out of everything. Waitress as well as the other employees were efficient and accommodating . Ticket times were respectable at 15-20 minutes considering how much food they gave us. The pancakes were thick and fluffy, and almost 10 inches wide. Three very perfect looking pancakes, a tad dry. Served with maple syrup and little balls of butter. The dish was nothing spectacular by any means but I enjoyed it. Overall a great experience. Stacked is a nice addition to the Oak Lawn restaurant scene. It is a little nicer than most of the Oak Lawn breakfast places and the food is very good. We went around 10 on a Saturday and it was packed. The manager was seating people as quickly as he could and kept the wait to a minimum. Very well organized. The seating is limited, it is a small space but it is worth the wait. The food came out relatively quickly and everything was served hot. They have plenty of breakfast options from waffles to skillets. The staff was busy but took time to be pleasant and helpful with the menu and kept the coffee filled. They also have a decent lunch menu and we will be back to give them a try for lunch. read more

Delish!!! We picked up some friends from O'Hare at the crack of dawn yesterday and they were starving. I did a quick Yelp search of breakfast near Oak Lawn (just about half way between the airport and our home in Valpo - bam, there was Stacked. I'm familiar with the area and figured it'd be quick and easy to swing off 294 down 95th. Loved it!! Our guests were thrilled. Country skillet was great - the potatoes were crispy, scrambled eggs were done perfectly and they definitely didn't skimp on the sausage and veggies! One of our friends had the Greek omelet and said it was full of goodies - another had the veggie skillet and couldn't even finish the whole thing. My husband had some sort of combo (2 eggs, 2 toast, 2 sausage... or something along those lines) he said the food was great, but he was left a little hungry. No worries, he gladly took half my skillet! Service was great, price was reasonable. We will definitely be back next time we're in the Oak Lawn area again. read more

My boyfriend and I checked in at 11:30am. We wrote down our phone number since it was a 30 minute wait, and waited in the car. After the 30 minutes was up and we have not received a call, we decided to check in. Apparently they called us "a while ago" and said we would be called next. After this, the hostess kept calling parties in front of us, including another table for 2. We ended up waiting an extra 20 minutes. I asked to speak to a manager and she was very dismissive and said they have been calling bigger party tables even though they called a party of 2, 3, and 4. After waiting 50 minutes, a couple of the managers friends came to visit and the manager sat the friends before they sat us. The manager and hostess were extremely unprofessional and dismissive--when I was explaining the amount of time we've been waiting she kept cutting me off saying they will have a table ready for us. We would have gone somewhere else at that point if we weren't completely starved. We both have worked in the service industry and know that customers should never be treated this way. read more

There's not enough good things I can say about this place, but I'll start with a few. For one, you can't beat their breakfast menu items, as everything comes out hot, fresh and made to order. I always get their sausage and gravy skillet with the pancakes; it's amazing! Some of the best pancakes I've ever had in my life. This place has ruined IHOP for me, when it comes to breakfast joints. I would consider it blasphemy to go anywhere else besides stacked for great American breakfast food. The owner and staff is also very friendly, and the owner recognizes me and my hubby as regulars every time we come in. They greet you and make you feel right at home. I'm sitting here sharing the down home skillet and stuffed French toast with fresh fruit with my fiancée. This place was recommended to us, and we were concerned whether this place was "Oak Lawn good", or actually good. It turns out this place lives up to its reputation. That skillet has some good sausage in it and the right amount of pepperyness. The French toast has banana and cream in it, and it wasn't cold, or gooey, or any kind of gross, like anywhere else; the toast had texture and was an ideal delivery system for the creme and fruit. I was a 31 year old child. The portions are about right, at least the French toast, but you're going to want to get something solid on the side. The skillet is huge and we're taking the rest home. The coffee is crap. Not the worst I've had, by far, but don't come here for the coffee. If the coffee was good, they'd still get 4 stars because they've outgrown their space, and the wait is greater than a half hour; I'm told they're working on expanding. Dear establishment, please get some Intelligencia or Stump Town, or some local roaster, and distinguish yourself from literally the rest of the entire south side. We will love you more. read more
