Chicken fried steak was amazing! Home fries were crispy and salted just right! Pancakes were delicious.....the basic buttermilk were great but my sister's banana pancakes were out of this world. At first she ordered some weird waffle covered in bacon and hot cheese. It was a total gut buster. One bite and it wasn't terrible but I didn't want to wreck the rest of my day. Drip coffee was BAD! We came in with a party of 10 and although the line was super long, the wait staff made sure to get a few tables together for us. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food with no complaints (that's rare!) Everything looked and tasted delicious. The portions were substantial and we left satisfied. Found this place today and fell in love with it! At first there was a line and it seemed like it would take forever but it didn't! It moved really fast and our food was brought out to us, piping hot, within minutes of ordering. The pancakes are divine and very spongey/fluffy/soft; they're definitely one of my new favorites! The sun dried tomato/pesto scramble (pictured) was on the "Today's Special" menu and was hella good. My mom got the Florentine scramble (not pictured) had spinach/peppers/cheese/bacon and was devoured. The workers were very sweet and attentive too. One word: RIDICULOUS! Although they were very busy, we found a table right away and ordered. The waitresses brought over the food right away and were attentive throughout our stay. The Florentine scramble was very yummy and comes with perfect home fries and 2 pancakes. For $1 more you can add fruit, I opted for blue berries, so good! My husband ordered the spicy chicken and waffles. Again, fantastic! The chicken appeared and tasted like Chicken Katsu covered in spicy dynamite sauce ( yes, the kind you get on sushi!) Although this sounds a little odd it all makes sense on your pallet. We paid under $24 for all this glorious food. Will make the trip up again and definitely stop by to stack up. Stacks has delicious food. I love their Mac'nut banana pancakes. The one thing I don't like is how hard it is to get a table when it is busy. You have to order at a counter and find a table after. I've been here around 3 times now and I must get a bad batch of pancakes/french toast. I usually order a fruit pancake and the last few times they've been extremely dry. Only a couple pieces of blueberries, or a few pieces of strawberries here and there. I see other plates getting more than I, but they're always so busy they forget that I ask for extra fruit or to refill a certain syrup. The atmosphere is pretty good here. They got a nice staff and a lively location. They do extremely well so I don't doubt pancake enthusiasts love this place. I may just not be one for the type of mix they use. I hope they can get an extra food runner, cashier, busser, or someone that's able to walk around and ask how the food is/needs any adjustments. That'd help a lot. My boyfriend and I were stuck on the 5 freeway so we exited and found this crowded breakfast place in Dana Point. The line at first seems overwhelming, but it ended up being about a 15min-20min wait to get to the cash register, not that bad considering how crazy this place is with people. We ordered the oreo pancakes, loco moco, and clubhouse benedict with a strawberry lemonade. I'm not a big fan of pancakes, but these are definitely my favorite pancakes. The oreos make it less plain and gives it a nice sweet crunch. Whip cream is put on top but I didn't think that was necessary. Just a little bit of syrup and that is a great breakfast (and sugar rush) in itself. I had a the clubhouse benedict and it was good. It is standard to your usual eggs benedict. I was hoping for the english muffin to be a little crispier and my potatoes were a little cold. My bf ordered the loco moco which ended up being too salty. It came with friend rice, portuguese sausage, and an over easy egg. The gravy made everything quite saltier and a little difficult to eat. I would recommend getting it with plain white rice. I was recently in Dana Point for a wedding, and this place was on the top of my list of things to do while there! Boy was I excited when I realized it was a 2 minute walk from our hotel! It was easy to decide what I wanted: Captain Crunch Peanut Butter French toast--I had been drooling over this ever since I read the yelp reviews. Option to add banana for $1? YES please!!! This was probably one of the best French toasts I've ever had. Perfectly crispy with the captain crunch, and utterly delicious with the peanut butter and banana inside. (rivals the captain crunch French toast at Frank's Diner in Kenosha, WI, and this is only a car ride away!) The other people dining with me didn't seem as excited about their meals, but they got eggs and some other boring stuff-- if you come here the FRENCH TOAST is the way to go!!!! read more

A great cheap eat! I got the light breakfast, which consists of your choice of bacon, turkey sausage, or sausage, two pancakes, and two eggs. I sprang for 1.50 extra to make it a blueberry - it was sweet but not too sweet, and super fresh tasting. My parents got the veggie omelet, which was enormous and loaded with all sorts of vegz! Love that the waitresses scope out tables for you before you order - makes the process very fast and you don't feel like you need to grab a table and wait in loneliness while your eating buddies (aka my parents) wait in line. Waitresses are a little brusque but understandably so, as the restaurant was hopping with families and couples waiting in line for fresh, hot pancakes.
