As a response to what the owner of the business wrote to my original review... No one is expecting processed, cheap food. Who in their right mind is going out for a meal expecting that? What we are expecting is not to be price gouged for a mediocre meal. Nothing about this food was good. That's not even up for debate and what's more scary is the fact that other patrons of this place have written such good things about this restaurant. Someone would make a killing in La Verkin serving up GOOD food. I'd be okay spending $200+ on a meal had it been good. We spend 3x this price on a meal in the PHX area, but goodness gracious, the owner of this place is laughing his way to the bank. read more

This Western themed restaurant and bar seems to be a favorite watering hole for locals and travelers alike. Servers were so refreshingly hospitable, food came out quickly, and the place was comfortable and cool. They have beers on the menu though most looked to be in cans. Cocktails were ever present but are of the classic kind with fun names. The menu was vast with an array of meaty dishes, burgers, sandwiches, and seafood. We only wanted a quick cold sip and a cold entrée. Said entrée was the Ahi Ceviche Tostada ($12) which was simple although we were expecting poke I think. My cocktail was refreshing and the 8% ABV double IPA was malty and interesting. It was here where we first experienced Utah's strict drinking laws. First time in Utah and we were on our way to Zion but wanted to stop by somewhere for a quick sit and eat. Decided to stop by this little grill and Surprisingly pleased with our meal. Staff was super nice and professional. Exterior design was rustic and country and so was the interior but it was abstract too. It had a saloon type feel. There was something in the corner of the restaurant that i noticed right away and it was a bald eagle with a nest built into the corner of the wall. Super cool. I don't really talk about the Food was delicious. We ordered the stage coach breakfast burrito with salsa verde and the ground beef steak and eggs and a side of bacon. Eaten here several times. Has always been good to very good. It's a little pricey, but it's for the tourists trade. Tonight my wife had the Catfish special. We started off with Calamari appetizer. It was fast, fresh and very good. The side sauces made the dish. When our dinners came they both looked great. The Catfish was overcooked and burned. It wasn't blackened and was just very overcooked. I had the Chicken fried Chicken. Again it looked really good. It was smothered with gravy. When I cut into it I could tell it was overcooked. It was also burned. Off night here? I am not a complainer and didn't say anything. Service was slow. I really feel like our meals were overlooked and cooked to long. Not what I would expect here. Stopped here after we hiked Zion National Park! We were starving. They were busy so we sat at the bar area. We didn't mind at all. We were able to see all food leaving the kitchen from the bar. Everything looked so good! When our food came we were excited to dig in. I ordered the steak and it was cooked beautifully, so good and so tender. We're visiting Zion from Los Angeles and knew that we wanted to come here for one of our dinners. It was so easy to make a reservation online. We arrived a few minutes early and were seated immediately. We had the Rib-eye special and the new york steak. Both were incredible. The aesthetic of this place is enough to draw you in. With the massive sculptures out front and games of horse shoe. We were sat in a screened-in section and were left waiting for awhile without being seen by anyone. That is until Nicole came out in a whirlwind to tend to the three tables in our section. Nicole was so sweet, funny, and amazing. She had suggestions at the ready especially when we told her we were gluten free. Nicole was running every which way and making it look easy as pie. Amazing food right by Zion! We walked in without a reservation on a weekday and had to wait a bit for a table. It was worth it though! We ordered the pot roast (daily special) and the ribs for dinner, and shared Tiramisu for dessert (local). The owner even stopped by our table to checkin. Goofy Ah Restaurant: First and most egregious, the prices in the restaurant do not match what is online. You sit down and the menu is unbelievably high. This is way beyond inflation. Second, the food is not good. So you pay a ton for really sub par food. A $23 burger can be done, but this is not even close to it. One of the burgers that came to our party was cold. And lastly the service was unbelievably bad. They say "there is an automatic 20% charge for a party over 6" which I'm fairly understanding of, but holy crap that ruined the incentive structure for the server clearly because the service was terrible. You can't just drop the ball like that. I would've tipped 9% given the option. I don't know if this is a tourist trap or something but don't go. read more
