Mike and his team performed an abbreviated diagnostic test for FREE. These guys are not out here trying to nickel-and-dime people. That company failed to show up within the service window, and too late in the day to do any diagnostic testing to find the leak. The next available appointment would have been the following week. I called up APB and got a same day appointment. Trent showed up promptly. He pressurized the system and within 30 minutes found the leak in the indoor evaporator coil. He was very informative. APB will charge $200 for the service call, whereas the other company quoted me up to $970 to do the same task.

It was feeling not quite as cold and the fan seemed like it was working a little harder, so I wanted to get it cleaned before the hot summer months hit! I *hate* making phone calls, but the receptionist was SUPER nice, so that immediately put me at ease. Their quote was flat rate and very reasonable so I was happy I wouldn't be guessing how much it would come to at the end. She apologized for not being able to get me in the week I called but was able to fit me in the next week - which was faster than I had expected! The technician came at the quoted time and took about an hour, which is how long they had told me on the phone. It says something about other companies on island that this is a noteworthy comment! He was very friendly and worked quickly and efficiently. He showed me the visible spots he had cleaned, but the best thing is now our AC is back to being icy cold - I had to bump it up to make it warmer! - and it smells nice and clean. I paid in cash (there is a fee if you use card. You can also write a check if you prefer). We will definitely be happy to use this company again in the future!

Two techs showed up, a little early which was perfect, they got right to it. Super polite, took their shoes off. My AC's were filthy and gross. They cleaned and sanitized without leaving any mess behind. My refrigerant was low with a suspected leak, however that will have to be a next month problem. They urged me to top off and fix the leak as soon as possible and let me know what would happen if I didn't fix it soon. Message received and understood. Thank you Ultimate Air Conditioning! He had a contractor here locally that installed it for us in about 3 hours. Our house is cool at night, and we don't have to have our A/C on. The cool ambient air from outside blows in and the warm air in the house gets sucked into the attic and out the vents. The fan uses minimal power, saves us on electricity and very efficient. The fan is quiet on the low setting. We do keep the fan on high (little loud) as soon as we get home but it's only on for an hour to cool the inside of the house faster. We are very satisfied with our fan!

The Standard Air Team is awesome, especially Daniel who really took care of our problem and even scheduled appointments during off hours just to accommodate us, which was really appreciated since our AC was leaking and was just barely cooling our house, we live in Ewa Beach so AC is life! Quick back story, our AC motor was running constantly but not cooling our house which happened on a Friday night before the weekend of course. We called around a bunch of companies and got ahold of one that starts with "S" and ends in "teve's", let's just say that they were a total rip off and horrible, horrible service. Typical mainland money grabbing business model. They basically said yup, your unit is leaking, you're gonna have to replace it. The tech never even went up to my attic coil cabinet and He didn't even show me what was wrong. So, Ok, how much? don't know, about $ X,xxx.00 but you'll have to schedule an estimator who's booked for the next week. Yeah, right, no AC in Ewa for 2 - 4 weeks! thanks. The service call alone was almost 30% of the quote to replace my coil. Again "S" is a total rip off! Standard Air called me back from the original message I left them and I explained the situation to them, they were able to come out, on a Saturday to check out my system. First, Daniel, did a THOROUGH exam of my system and actually showed me what was wrong. He gave a rough quote but needed to check parts and availability. He also was able to temporarily get my system up to cool our house until they could come and replace the coil in our attic. He called back with a much more reasonable quote than "S" gave me and would be much sooner to come back and replace my coil. I can't say enough about how great the Daniel and the Standard Air Team were getting our AC repaired and caring enough to get our AC good enough until they were able to fix it. A great local company, reasonable rates and they provide great service. Thank you! read more

Palani and crew did an amazing job and I give them my highest recommendation. I own a small business here in Hawaii and understand what it takes to get your business going. Palani was always very responsive to calls and emails and always followed up when he said he was going to. Initially, Palani came to access our old Sanyo air conditioners from back in 1996-1997 that were on their last legs. He tried to clean them but one of them was broken. He did not charge us for the visit because he could not fix them. I reached out to him a few days later and we worked on the phone and text to figure out new air conditioning for the whole house (we only had two in both the kids rooms; but none in our master bedroom or kitchen). They were very knowledgeable about the different types of air conditioners and models and the positives and negatives about each one. More importantly, he took the time to listen to what was important to us and our family. I had a good feeling about Palani because the other air conditioning places never even bothered to call back and when they did they did not seem to care about earning more business or our situation. During installation they took time to figure out the details and were even careful not to let our cats outside - basically they just truly cared. Toward the end of the installation they accidentally put the condenser outside the window and not to the side of the window - mistakes can happen with every job but it was how they handled the mistake. Palani caught the mistake and apologized. With a brief conversation with my wife we asked them to fix it and they started working on it right away...no gripes, no complaining just apologies and hard work to stay and make it right. Go with Standard Air or at least give them a chance to earn your business! read more

I need to install an air conditioning unit and have a small window of time in which to complete. So I looked on Yelp for a reliable, personable and respected company, and lo and behold, I see Standard Air with consistent 5 star ratings. SUCCESS!! I called mid morning, explained that I'm looking for a quote but unfortunately I only have this one particular day in which all parties involved would be home. The person replied that he would try to get the estimator out to my house that afternoon but he wasn't sure if he would be available. I thanked him and said I would really appreciate it if would be anyway possible. SURPRISE!! I receive a call from Spencer, he said he could be at my house by 6 pm and if it was ok and not too late. Of course it's not too late!! I'm asking for this huge inconvenience, I would wait till... So Spencer calls when he's on his way, he comes, he looks it over, asks questions, takes measurements, asks what we want, gives suggestions, determines what size we need to cool the room, etc, etc. It's Friday night, worse yet, Valentine's night and Spencer is at my house talking business. SOLD!! NO wonder the 5 stars and now I'm adding to it. Spencer has been very courteous, professional, reliable, and patient for which I am truly grateful! It was a pleasure working with Palani and the Standard Air team, Ashley, Kelsey and Scott! We inquired about the Mitsubishi and Fujitsu split A/C units and opted for Mitsubishi. We were concerned about the potential installation challenges since our home is older and single-walled construction. We opted to place split A/C units in our bedroom with one compressor. Palani and Scott did an excellent job in piping the unit drainage thru the closets to the exterior wall with covers. The entire installation was efficient, clean and unobtrusive. Our home in Kailua single-walled so we were pleasantly surprised that the end-result looked a lot better than we expected. Palani and Scott did an outstanding job in keeping the work area clean and tidy. They removed all their rubbish through the process of installation. They wore shoe booties when entering the house and removed when outside. Kyle their contracted electrician did a fantastic job as well. We're 10 days in from install and are amazed at the quietness of the split a/c units. We're finally able to enjoy comfortable sleeping temps! Thanks again Standard Air! I contacted Standard Air to obtain a quote for installation of a split air system. They responded promptly and scheduled a time for Palani to visit. Palani discussed options with me and took indoor and outdoor photos to reference where all of the components would be situated. The next day, he emailed a quote for a Daikin system. He then, at my request, sent me a quote for a Mitsubishi system for comparison. As improvements to my townhouse are subject to approval by the AOAO, I was required to submit a bunch of different docs and information for their review. Palani was so very helpful in pulling all of the information together as well as modifying the layout to reflect minor changes. He put the equipment I selected on hold while the AOAO reviewed my submission. As soon as I received approval, I sent in my deposit to Standard and scheduled the install which was 2-3 wks away. On install day, their team worked like clockwork - everything completed in a day. They were professional and accommodated all of my preferences. It was nice to find a company who was dedicated to taking care of us. They are a family business, so they were quite personable on the phone and you could tell they cared about their customers. Our technician was sent out in a timely manner with to the minute updates on when he would be arriving so we weren't just sitting around and waiting for him. We searched Yelp for contractors to service our central air conditioning systems. Of the three who responded within 24 hours, we booked an appointment with Standard Air based on their high customer satisfaction ratings and reviews, participation in the Hawaii Energy rebate program, and Palani's explanation that an initial assessment of our installation would be made with a subsequent visit to perform the maintenance work. The cost estimate for the assessment was reasonable. We did not obtain other price quotes for the actual maintenance service because we felt that we could trust Standard Air based on conversations with Palani and Ashley Chang. Daniel and Casey made both service calls and were respectful, thorough, tidy, and willing to explain the work performed. Palani Chang provided great service from beginning to end. I requested an estimate to install 4 Mitsubishi split AC and Palani scheduled a survey immediately. Installation was smooth, easy and quick. Installation took only half a day. A licensed electrician was also on site to change out our old electrical panel. Ashley at the business office also provided excellent service keeping me updated with scheduling and answering any questions I had. Best of all was the price. Standard Air estimate was the cheapest compared to 3 others and their quality of work is excellent. Their customer service is excellent, no having to call mainland and they come out asap to check any problems. I highly recommend Standard Air if you're looking to install air conditioning. I had read all the 5-star reviews on these guys and was a bit skeptical. But guess what, it's true. I called their office early one morning before they opened and left a message. Palani called me back within 5 minutes and said he had come to the office early. Quick response... check. Palani then walked me through some different considerations to see if i could maybe fix it myself (the cold air had stopped blowing from our A/C). Helpful and solution oriented... check. We scheduled a visit for only a few days later. Timely...check. Palani showed up right on time. A bit early actually. He was friendly, courteous, efficient and obviously knowledgeable. We had Palani and his crew install 3 split systems in the bedrooms of our new home. From the initial phone call to final clean up, Palani and his crew were responsive, polite, and hard working. We received several estimates before selecting Standard Air. Their pricing is competitive but it's the responsiveness and Palani's knowledge that won us over. We didn't feel comfortable making such a large investment in our home from some of the other companies we received estimates from. No one wants to deal with late or missed appointments or estimators who forget to send you the estimate. We had none of those issues with Palani and now we're all sleeping cool at night! read more

Last summer I requested quotes from two companies when I needed to install an additional mini split. No comparison in cost, responsiveness and estimated scheduling. Palani, Kasey and Scott (and Kyle the electrician) made sure everything went smoothly and it was a wonderful experience overall. Spencer Machida was able to come by to assess our problem next day. We replaced a central AC system. During the dissembling process, one of the crew discovered mold problem in the duct connection. He quickly referred me to ProAir to address the issue. Knowing his action will delay the installation process and payment, he did the right thing by putting his customer first. (Dishonest people would just cover it up as if there were no problem just to finish their work and get paid.) So, I'm very thankful for the honesty Standard Air crew demonstrated. We purchased a 50+ year old home and soon learned that the bedrooms are often stiflingly hot, upwards of 90ºF. Palani and his team installed three small split condensers in the bedrooms that bring the temp down to comfortable levels with little effort. Installed within a week of giving the quote -- quick in and out, super clean install. Unit is super quite, looks clean on the outside, put up on pedestals to keep off the ground. Will definitely keep them in mind for future projects, and would definitely recommend to anyone looking. Great quality for money spent.

I decided to contact the installer because the time from on to AC blower actually working exceeded 5 mins. I contacted KW on Aug 4th and they slow rolled me until finally showing up to look at the unit on Aug 19. The technician left saying he contacted the manufacture (Rheem) and he would get back to me. Well today, Aug 20 my system is completely down. I called KW again and they said they would order an electrical board and fan motor. Overall service response time has been POOR and now I'm out of AC for who knows how many days until the parts arrive. If they would have simply responded to my request for service at the beginning of the month I would not be without AC.

The crew came out and was incredibly friendly, efficient, and professional. They were also very neat and made sure to clean up completely after the work was done. It must be a great company to work for because all the guys were so nice, and you could tell they genuinely enjoyed working together. When I received the invoice, much to my surprise, Kristi had applied a rebate that I wasn't even aware of! If you need a reliable AC contractor, Air Source is the company you want. Be warned--they are in high demand, but this is absolutely a company you can trust. Thank you, Kristi and the gang!
