This place is amazing. I've been here twice. The first time, my parents and I got the Tex Mex Nachos and the brownie dessert. I had ordered the Strawberry Hibiscus Tea, but our waiter forgot. No worries, I had water, it was busy; I was fine. Our waiter, Patrick, apologized and took the dessert off our bill. The second time I came with my friend. She ordered the Tejas Bowl and I got the sushi bowl. We also got the cheese fries for an appetizer. Our waiter DJ was very nice and since it was chilly, brought us heaters. An affiliate or owned by HG SUPPLY Co., Standard Service is a gem in the Rockwall area. I am a health nut and found it hard to find good sit down healthy food in Rockwall. Fortunately, someone recommended this spot, after I told them how big of an HG fan I was and how I ate. The menu is interesting, though a vegan or vegetarian may find it a more limited than HG of course due to this being in the Rockwall area, or a branch of HG that offers their good food to the more typical population that eats burgers, steaks, chicken, etc.; but they do have options on their menu for everyone! I am really sorry that I forgot what I ordered, but know that it was delicious and worth writing a review on. Check the pic also! The staff was very helpful and attitude-free. The place is clean, though a little crowded. I would recommend Standard Service for watching the game of the night, a date, or casual dining. read more

Ordered the bird sandwich and the meat was dry and for 15 bucks it's not worth it. They don't pass out stuff like chips and salsa and bread etc so everything on the menu is overpriced. The place itself is very cool. HUGE outdoor seating area, with games, and a play area for kids. Mostly they just run around - not many kid activities. They have a stage for live events although I haven't heard or seen any events here. Big screen up there too for watching games. Food is really good. Service is pretty slow. Food is a little pricier than most but worth it. Drinks however, are pretty expensive. Enjoy the place but know that if you're bringing kids or hanging out a bit, it is going to have a bit of a tab. read more

Found this place on a whim. Food is a little overpriced for what you get (both portion and flavor), but it's good. The large footprint of this place is what makes it awesome. Tried this place out since I'll be moving to the area. Absolutely loved the outdoor setting!! Love the diverse playlist, drinks were great and the food was great! Well, first off there was a huge black strand of hair in my drink when it was delivered and as I poked it out in front or our server, she simply said "oh, sorry". Didn't offer to get me another nor did she comp the drink. When my friend ordered a single mimosa, she brought her a double and apologized for putting in the order wrong. Again, didn't fix it and she charged her for the double. When the check came, each drink was charged with a donation that I was not aware of. I missed that somewhere and sure didn't want to be that person that demanded a donation be given back to me. On the fence of going back. Loved everything except the service. Maybe a different server will be more accommodating and communicate the donations ahead of time. read more

This is the first night at the new location in Heath and the place is packed. The service is great and the food is amazing. Beer selection is great as well. I would've loved to had Boochcraft on tap and/or Truly cans but the selection is still top notch. Bar staff was on point despite being slammed. My wife, friends and I will be regulars here. First dinner ever in Rockwall and it left an amazing taste in my mouth. The food was great. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich, without the blue cheese coleslaw and it was very, very tasty! The drinks here are also very delicious and I love that all of the signature cocktails' revenue goes to a different charity. I love that this restaurant gives back. The only reason that I am not giving this place 5 stars is because the waitress was not very friendly. Service and ambiance were good. Fajita chicken tacos were subpar unless you like chickenless tacos. I found a few tiny pieces of burnt crispy fajita chicken under the slaw. Not sure why they pair French fries as the side for tacos? We also ordered the kale dip because it was on the happy hour menu. It might be worth the happy hour price but not the full price, which we were charged for some reason. My husband enjoyed his patty melt. We don't plan to return to this restaurant. read more

This is such a cool spot, it is definitely the "hot spot" for Rockwall area & is always packed. The food is absolutely amazing & so fresh. Took my mother in law for Mother's Day & she loved it! Server we had was super nice & very attentive. We got 4 different items & each were so yummy. Nashville Hot brunch item was super good, the grilled chicken sandwich was by far the best, queso & chips appetizer so yummy, loaded grilled cheese is just YUM, Ruben isn't my personal style but my father in law loved it, & the loaded tots sooo good! Ok so wow! The friends and I decided to short trip out of Dallas to Rockwall this weekend, and our trusty Yelp led us to Standard Service for Sunday brunch. If you're familiar with HG SPLY and Remedy in Dallas, well same restaurant group. Walking in to the restaurant, the hostess stand kinda threw me off, but once I got past it the space is pretty cool. Love the HUGE, Extensive bar area stocked full of bottles, and the indoor seating area with garage-type (think firehouse) roll up doors that open out onto a pretty wide patio. So, cool industrial type decor. The wall on the left features a Scrabble-type list of special drinks which you can prob get your own unique drink recipe added to their repertoire. When they bring your check there is a card that you can fill out your drink recipe, and if chosen they will feature it with $1 from the sale of each drink going to a charity of your choice! Drink a little, give a little! Works for me! But let's get back to the food! I will just say the Specialty Bowls are AWESOME! I tried the Tejas Bowl - a delightful concoction of ranchero style pinto beans, brown rice, sautéed red onions, red bell & poblanos, cheddar cheese, pico, lime crema, guacamole, shredded lettuce & crispy tortilla strips. Amazing flavors! No one flavor overpowering the others. You have a choice of proteins you can add. I opted for the chicken, and it had the most deliciously "fresh-off-the-grill smoked with the lightest blend of fresh herbs" taste! Absolutely loved it! Pretty decent portion. The friends tried the breakfast tacos, which were chock full of bacon, scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, herb roasted potatoes, lime crema & green goddess with pico on the side. Again very healthy portions ... they could barely finish the 2nd one and they also loved the flavors. Another friend "built her own meal" with a combo of the sides - Toast with Salted Butter & Strawberry Preserves, Herb Roasted Potatoes, Scrambled Eggs, and Bacon (cooked just short of crisp but Delish, I was told!). $2 mimosas complemented our meals. After 2 of those I had a nice buzz going! They literally have a huge bar of bottles that take up the whole wall area, so lots of specialty drinks as well. Standard Service is solidly fine, leaning towards good. I wavered between 3 and 4 stars, but felt that I had to round down. I was just outside the city limits for an event on a cold spring day. Needing some warmth and nourishment, I found Standard Supply on Yelp. Parking can be difficult on a busy weekend, but since it's in a shopping center near Lowe's, there are options, but it may be a tiny walk. Walking inside, you can definitely tell the place is developed by the same group behind HG Supply Co in Dallas. Industrial, but cozy. Very hip, with a staff full of 20 somethings. Since I was by myself, I sat at the bar in the corner, which unfortunately was not really able to view her TVs from my angle. All good, this is why I have books on my phone! The bartender was pretty attentive, sharing that they have $2 mimosas on the weekends, either either orange juice or cranberry juice. I opted for the latter and it was quickly made and served. Since it was later in the day, while the breakfast options sounded delicious, I'm a sucker for a old fashioned grilled cheese made with solid ingredients and theirs was promising. Since I'm a vegetarian, I requested it without bacon, and there's where I went wrong. The food did take a while to arrive; the kitchen runs along the opposite wall of the bar so you can see people coming and going and some servers seemed flustered through the afternoon. Someone finally brings me my grilled cheese...topped with thick bacon. I sat and stared at it for a few minutes before the bartender finally checked on me and I told him the mistake. He immediately was apologetic and took full responsibility. The replacement sandwich did come out quickly, and it tasted pretty good, but it still just added to the wait time. Not the best grilled cheese, but a solid fast-casual restaurant option. Fries were just okay as well. Brunch was being served around me and it looked good, so I would be willing to give it another shot. While I didn't ever see many people waiting, the restaurant was steadily busy the entire late morning. Decent option for a younger or more adventurous vibe in Rockwall! read more

WEIRD THING to me was they took my ID..scanned it...and then gave me a document to sign??? Ok what are u doing now with my address and other personal info printed on a piece of paper??? All I wanted was a drink not to sign my life away. Also the service is definitely lacking. After sitting inside for dinner we decided we wanted to move outside and continue to have drinks and dessert which our first waitress said we could do. But I didn't know that would come with SO many rules!!! U can't order food when on the green space....the large open space where everyone wants to sit? Another area was available and open for seating and eating but the waitress said they would not be serving there tonight. They also had several large tables outside where you could eat but they had reservation signs on them-but no one was ever seated there? A picnic table had 1 guy sitting there and we asked him if it was ok if we could sit there and he said yes. Several minutes later a waitress came up to us and told us we could not sit there because the whole large picnic table was for the gentleman. Still kicked us out even though he said it was ok and we were distanced from him. They claimed a reservation had just arrived but later we saw it was still empty. All we wanted to do was have dessert but it became such a hassle, so many rules and restrictions, we decided to leave. I had the chicken stir fry bowl.... I could barely finish half of it. It was HUGE, filling and light all at the same time. Perfectly seasoned and veggies were tender but not mooshy. Hubby had the cheese ravioli with chicken Alfredo and it was so creamy and rich. Even the toast was the bomb. vlad was our waiter. Friendly, attentive, full of welcomed advice and great at his job. We expected something better. Instead, we spent $170 for drinks, 1 appetizer and 2 chicken breast meals split between 4 people. My $15 "martini" amounted to a half shot of Bombay Sapphire gin. I was charged more for a shot of olive juice. Chicken was overdone, 1 small scoop of mashed potatoes, and a tablespoon of gravy. Booths on both sides of us were jungle gyms for children. I love this place!! The best thing, to start with, is the manager CARLOS. He is friendly, charming, helpful, a jump-in-and-help manager - and gives the place a warm hospitable environment!! He welcomes clientele with a big smile and makes you feel at home at Standard Service. The food is great! Fresh, healthy and unhealthy options. My favorite is the chopped salad with salmon.
