I went in to purchase their clearance cottonelle toilet paper. As I was walking up, Indian associate lady came up and asked if I had coupons. I said yes, then she asked to see them because she said they don't accept copies. Then asked if they're all different or the same and I told her it was all different. After she saw them to make sure they weren't "copies" w/ different upc codes, she said they don't accept. Seriously lady? They're manufactured coupons and after you physically saw and validated they were legit you say you guys don't accept? Such bullshit. What a waste of time and gas. A few of my friends got this deal and that's why I went! On their website it says they accept coupons and nowhere does it say on non clearance items. She was literally arguing with me instead of checking with anybody or scan them. The guy working the booth had the demeanor of a regular person trying to impersonate the stereotypical DMV employee. Not friendly. Not clear in instructions. Thank god I did my application online. After all the research for a particular model we found that Staples had the best price!! We decided to go ahead and pick it up and snoop around the store. We went in shortly after they opened and no crowds to battle. Lol. So we found the printer aisle and found our model. They've got a full stock and test models for us to try out the printer. Brandon in TSA pre check knew he was wrong and admitted his fault. There was myself and one other gentlemen about 9:47AM. He came out and wrote both our names on the clipboard to check us in. The man's appointment was at 9:50 and mines was at 10:00. He proceeds to go through the process with him and while he's back there a lady rushes and barges all over and says I'm next right, I had an appointment but I was late because of traffic meanwhile she sits down and I tell her no your not next because my appointment is at 10:00 and I'm on time you can't just cut in front of people. She hovered over his desk area until he finished and he took her in. A male of color arrives and sits in the waiting area and 10 minutes later another man came over. After he finished the lady guess what he didn't go to the male of color first to check in his name but the other guy. When it was my turn I told him you know your wrong right because if it was me a woman of color who did that I would have been told to wait this person was here first, you guys always wonder why race gets brought up and that is why. Please think twice to do business with Staples located at 9146 Stockton Blvd, Elk Grove, Ca. I would give them zero star including Staples leadership to respond back to us. We recently had the unfortunate experience of participating in a flyer ad campaign that left me utterly disappointed and dissatisfied Staples at 9146 Stockton Blvd, Elk Grove CA 95624. The campaign for our business at the Elk Grove location, which promised to deliver a compelling and widespread promotion for my business, fell significantly short of expectations, leaving me questioning the effectiveness of the entire endeavor. We paid $3000 for Ad campaign on April 11, 2023 to distribute flyers on third week of April on Zip code 95757 & 95758 zip codes but no one received any flyer until today. Firstly, the distribution promised in the initial agreement was far from fulfilled. The flyers were supposed to reach a wide and diverse audience, but it seemed like they barely made it to any targeted locations for zip code 95757 & 95758. This lackluster distribution not only undermined the campaign's potential impact but also raised serious doubts about the sincerity of the service provider. As per our conversation with Annette requested 10 addresses that did not receive the mail. I provided 20+ addresses and there are plenty more outside of those addresses provided that have still not received it. The zip codes 95757 and a portion of 95758 were the zip codes we selected for the mail to go out when placing the order at the staples location in Elk Grove. However, Annette from the corporate office from Staples stated these zip codes were not present after the order was placed by Heather at the Elk Grove staples location. Since our business is located in the 95757 zip code it wouldn't make sense to pick any other zip code to send mail to. Initially I was offered a full amount of $3000 from the manager (Jason) for their mistake since he was the one to approve the order. Then I got offered a refund of only $332.00 from Annette and I requested Annette if she could provide a detail on how you have come to the conclusion of providing a refund of $332 when our initial order cost almost $3000. The refund of $332 is unacceptable without stating how you have come to that offer. We have communicated via email so many times since the last 6 months but have not come to any conclusion. Annette is stop responding to our emails or phone calls to resolve this matter. I am requesting a full refund which was promised by Jason as well or a thorough investigation of this issue as we are not satisfied with the result. Moreover, the promised follow-up and tracking mechanisms to gauge the campaign's success were nonexistent. I received no feedback on how many flyers were distributed, how many people engaged with them, or any other relevant metrics. This lack of transparency and accountability only added to the frustration and disappointment. Communication with the campaign organizers was also a major issue. When I attempted to address my concerns and seek clarification on the subpar performance, I was met with evasive responses and vague explanations. It seemed as though they were more interested in deflecting blame than addressing the legitimate grievances of a paying customer. In conclusion, my experience with this flyer ad campaign was nothing short of a letdown. From unfulfilled distribution promises to lackluster design and poor communication, the overall execution was riddled with shortcomings. As a business owner, I had expected a strategic and impactful marketing effort, but what I received was a subpar service that failed to deliver on its commitments. I would strongly caution others considering this service to think twice and explore alternative options with a more reliable track record. read more

After a horrible experience with a manager and 2 cashiers, I will never return to this location. I would rather buy my office stuff online than come here from now on. Sadly, I was coming here for about 6 years for the same printer ink package. I came in recently and could not find the printer ink package that I usually buy. They did have the same ink package with photo paper though. I asked if they had any without photo paper since it was more expensive. Both cashiers told me that they don't carry that printer ink. One, that's a lie since I've been only buying it here for years. And two, they weren't anywhere near the printer ink section or looking through a book of items they do carry. And three, I was holding the package with the printer ink with photo paper. So I don't think it's farfetched that they would carry just the ink. So I asked if they could check for me, and the manager just so happen to overhear the conversation and also said they've "never carried that printer ink". Again, he wasn't anywhere near the printer ink section or on a computer or flipping through a book of stock items they have. I patiently and calmly told him I've been coming here for years buying the printer ink and he then said "are you sure you went to a Staples?"....Game...on....I unleashed the dragon and basically showed him his own stock he clearly does not know he has. His response? He walked away without saying a word. What kind of printer do I have? It's a Canon. If you've ever been to Staples, they have their own section of printer ink. I'm Not happy with this store. Went to buy one of the items in their weekly ad after calling to make sure it was in stock. (it was a 4G flash drive) When I arrived, there were none on the shelf so I asked the cashier if they had any in the back, "I'll ask my manager", and quickly replied, "no, we don't have any". I asked if they could do a rain check. "No." Can I order them on-line? I asked. They said it was in store only. At that point, another associate walked up and said that they might be able to substitute a "similar" item and went to the back. He came out with about 15 of the exact item I was asking for! They said that it wasn't the item they have in the ad but they would adjust the price for me. BS!! It was exactly the same item. Geez. I really hate to leave a negative response and it really wasn't necessary but the so-called Manager??? Insisted on being rude and yelling at me in front of other customers. I was an employer for 28 years, a managers job is to manage, hence the term , manager. If the title was, rude-crude-and socially unacceptable, then I could understand Diana's job title better but manager she is not. It certainly is not a title that was earned for professional behavior to customers. On 01/10/2016 I called Staples for a quote to transfer data from 3 pcs. DVD to a USB. I was quoted .25 cents. I asked, are you sure? I am Looking at the data on 1 DVD right now and it reads 4.13gb. I was assured that the most the service would cost would be $1.00 but they were closing in 30 minutes so I should bring the dvds in the morning on 01/11/2016, which I did. Upon doing so I was told by Christine, a different salesperson that the quoted price was wrong and the cost would be a little more than $2.00. That was fine, it was actually twice the initial quote but still a good deal. I was told to leave the dvds as it would take several hours. Ok, I continued to shop at staples for other electronic devices while I waited then after about an hour, she had not yet had an opportunity to start my project so I just left. About an hour later I received a call stating there were a lot of files on the dvds I said , I know I told you they were over 4gb each when I left them with you. She said the price may be more than what I as quoted but she had to ask her manager. This would then be the 3rd change to a quote that each time I asked I was assured would not change. Later in the day I had received a voicemail with a quote of $100.00 dollars, yes! now it was $100.00!!! I returned to the store with yet another employee who had no idea what was going on. I merely asked, "how could this be?, how could we go from $1.00 to $100.00?" She asked the manager to handle the issue where I merely asked, how can this be? how can a price increase so much? That was a big deal, instead of MANAGING Diana Terry became very irate and started yelling at me in front of the other customers. I was very embarrassed, not just for myself but for them as well. We all had to go through this and it was unwarranted, it is not proper management. I am writing a letter to corporate, the BBB and probably small claims court Because this is just NOT how business should be conducted and definitely not how a manager should manage a situation. I am an office supply/stationery addict, therefore I usually spend a lot of time just window shopping after I have found everything. That being said, I have been to this store twice in one month and both times, I was disappointed. Either with the product (Staples brand) and or the lack of people working the floor. It's okay when you go here and you know what you're gonna buy, pay then leave. But if you saw a certain item for $9 online, then it's $40 in-store, and then there's a slight difference in the naming of the item, but the serial numbers are exactly the same, then you'll give it a shot that when you order online for store pickup, they'll give you the $40 one. I'm also aware that it's usually 2 hours for a pickup and they're slightly busy because of the current cashier customers, but I'm also a customer and I'm right there just waiting for my order to process. My supposed-to-be 30 min trip became 2 hours. I appreciate the guy who helped me though. But as for the other ones, they just ignore you OR don't give you excellent customer service INCLUDING the manager. I asked where I can pick up my online order, then she just pointed the corner. When the associate was trying to help me, he tried talking to the manager via their mic. I saw the manager's face reactions because they were talking to each other but 50 ft away. It seems like she doesn't like her job. I had originally ordered from the Natomas store and they said their business card cutter was broken and they would send my order to the Elk Grove Store. Well I get to the Elk Grove store and there are no cards. So Lindsey went out of her way to call the other stores to see if my order was there, still nothing. So she had an associate from another store find my file and send it to her. Now she's printing my order. Well, my copies came out great, but it took me several machines to find the color printer. You guys need to label the printers and copiers with what they can do. Edit: I took back a star. I should have inspected more than the first couple of pages. The others were all crooked, like at a 20 degree angle. How does that even happen? Maybe Staples needs to service their machines more often. The color was great, but it's really embarrassing to hand people copies and some folks get a crooked one. It looks very unprofessional. I do most of my Staples shopping online. But when I go, I've always been greeted and when I need help, it's more than available. I get a TON of printing done there. Both the kind that I send in via their website, the stuff I being in on a flash drive and the DIY kind. Problems are always corrected quickly. Recently, I thought I was ordering online to have the orientation be one way. It doesn't print out that way and the Copy Print supervisor caught it, double checked how I actually wanted it, confirmed it had been done wrong and re-did it while I waited. Shredding Services at Staples are a rip-off! Take it elsewhere where the price will be much better and the service too. They typically have 1 person for UPS services, shredding, copies, computer. May not need more all the time but it shouldn't take 30+ minutes to shred (you have to put the pages yourself into the locked container) 1 box of paper. The gal was new and had no idea what to do and the manager that helped her finally came to the area and quite frankly, I think he treated her rude and ignored the customer totally. For the last 2 years I've been coming to this staples for my office supplies, as well as all my copy & printing needs. Staff is usually always friendly and ready to help. But when it comes to the copy and print center I really wish they would get it together. Maybe find a new way to organize or add more employees to the department so that the wait times here to actually speak to an employee to get an order made isn't alway 30+ min, and that my orders aren't always screwed up. For the last 2 years almost every request I've put in for a print job has failed. Either I was guaranteed for it to be ready a certain day and days go by with no calls or emails stating its ready, to the order being lost. This time around I go in to this location on a Friday afternoon to place an ordered. After waiting in line for 30+ min I was finally helped by the young lady who seemed like she was overwhelmed with the amount of people waiting for her to get to them. I told her what I wanted and she said it was something they had to ship out but it would be ready by Wednesday, I was fine with that, paid and was on my way. Here it is a week and 3 days later no calls for anyone so I called to check in on the order. After being placed on hold by the manager from another department for 45 min I was finally told they could not find my order. That their records show it was shipped to the store but they are unable to find it. But many times when it says it's shipped it really hasn't yet. Huh, states shipped but hasn't, what!? I was told they could take my name and phone number down and have someone give me a call in the morning after looking into where my order could be. Really Staples. How many times has this happened? We're all so busy that we dip in and out and a lot of times lose opportunities to be patient with each other and help each other. This Elk Grove Staples store really as a model for a wonderful customer service. Every time I come here with a request they find a way to go above and beyond and make sure that I leave happy and satisfied. I will drive quite a few miles out of my way just to go to this office supply store instead of another Staples or another chain simply because the management and staff really cares. On this last visit, Ryan and Lindsay help me figure out how to use a coupon that I had forgotten to put in before my transaction closed and they did it happily and quickly. The store is fine but applying for an Rebate online is totally terrible - all for $2.80! And you have to wait 60 days to get it. They get you in there with the rebate hook and they count on people abandoning the rebate process because it is so difficult. There's no contact info on the rebate page. I did a live chat with the main customer service and they gave me the phone number link to the rebate center. They told me to skip the password. Why bother having a password field if you don't need it. I spent time resetting the password twice + the live chat + the phone call. Just eliminate the field! read more

Used their printing service for thank you cards for my guests. Ordered " same day business cards" (as i needed them small) on THURSDAY.. next day, FRIDAY, i get a call their "cutter is not working/ down and technician is unable to come through weekend". Therefore in my head Monday it will be ready. I call MONDAY, no answer, been on hold for 4 minutes and got cut off? I get busy, and call TUESDAY. Finally someone answers and confirms i can pick up WEDNESDAY afternoon, will work on it today (Tuesday). Gets there around 4pm and STILL NOT READY. Told it'll be ready by the end of the day 8:30pm. I was understanding and conveniently enough I didn't need them right away, and waited until Wednesday to pick up SAME DAY business cards. I was rudely told in store that "i don't know who told you that but they will be ready by the end of the day. We have not started on that order yet". No apologies for the inconvenience , no understanding of the concept same day. Simply tells me "you didn't call back until Tuesday so we did not start". Uhh??
