I'm surprised there are not more reviews for Star City Motors. I've never written a review for Yelp before, but I decided to write this after my buying experience with Chris of Star City Motors. First off, I am not an affiliate or friend of Star City Motors. I am just like any other car buyer that searched far and wide for cars at officially licensed dealers, third party dealers, and private sellers. I'm the kind of guy that likes to check and research everything. A quick Google search won't pull up much about Star City Motors or Chris aside from some presence on Dodge Viper enthusiast forums and some reviews like the ones on Yelp. So I want to share my experience from the perspective of a buyer who was cautious. I saw some pictures for a Porsche Cayman 2014 that was in beautiful condition and had everything included such as the original sticker price with options, manuals, and keys. Everything was in like new condition and the price was just what I was happy with. I was originally looking at other Porsches in the Walnut Creek area, but since Star City Motors is close enough, I decided to call Chris to schedule a test drive. He got back to me within the same day and I ended up driving from San Jose to Walnut Creek/Concord the next day (a Sunday) to test drive all the cars I was considering in the Walnut Creek/Concord area. From the first moment we met, to the test drive, the Carfax documents, to any questions I had about the buying process, Chris was attentive and made the buying process easy. The car was already in beautiful condition when I saw it. I felt bad about driving the car since it was so new, so we agreed on a price that we were both happy with before I test drove the car. Unlike other dealers which told me to try and not put as many miles on the Porsche, Chris let me take the car out on highways and streets for an extended amount of time without any issues. After the test drive, I decided to purchase the Porsche Cayman from Star City Motors instead of test driving the other cars. I asked for a day to decide on the car. In the meanwhile, he had other prospective buyers look into the car as well but kept the car until I made my decision the next day. I was very wary because of reputations of car salesmen in the industry, however, looking back, I had nothing to fear with Chris. He made this process as easy as possible. He proposed different payment plans if one financial institution didn't work out or if rates were higher. He even handled all the paperwork at the DMV for me (i.e. temp registration, transfer, registration, etc.). Throughout all of this process, I messaged Chris constantly about any questions I had. I'm willing to bet that no other client in his history has messaged him more than me, but despite all of that, Chris always got back to me and tried to cater to every request I had. Again, looking back, I had nothing to fear and Chris took care of everything. All I had to do was just make the down payment, sign the paperwork, and take the car to drive off into the sunset while he handled everything else. All of these other reviews on Yelp saying how easy the process is, how much Chris bends over backwards to get the car into the buyer's hands, how quickly he replies, and more...they are all true. I'd recommend Chris to any prospective buyer. He's honest, never pushed any unnecessary extended warranty options onto me, and gave me different suggestions based on my payment plans and needs. I'll also put this out there, I've had some dealers not take me seriously because I drove an old car. However, he never looked down on me for that and trusted me the entire way. In fact, I'm sure he trusted me more than I trust him. Again, in hindsight, I had nothing to worry about and Chris did a fantastic job making me feel more comfortable about the whole process. If anyone is considering one of the cars on Star City Motors and is forward thinking enough to check Yelp reviews like I did, I hope this review will help them consider giving Star City Motors a chance. I buy and sell cars more than I'd care to admit and I'll have to say Chris is up there with the very best. We purchased a mint BMW i3 from him for a great price, and found the description of the car to be 100% accurate. We wanted a very specific set of options so it was good to have that confidence before making the drive up from Palo Alto. The only issue with the car was that it only had one key, but Chris threw in a new replacement key and even made sure it was cut before he mailed it. Ten seconds of programming later, and we are all set. I also appreciated how good Chris was in terms of communication, always very prompt and on top of email, and we got to drive our car in a very low pressure way.
