Yummy warm bread that melts in your mouth but I had a bad experience! Poor customer service. I pre-ordered desserts days in advance. Got a call the day before the event they had to cancel my order! Getting the refund was challenging. They were supposed to give the cash to my sister-in-law at pick up and they "forgot"When I called to ask about my refund they changed their story and made it very hard for me to get my refund even though it was their error. I really have to downgrade Starbread Bakery on Mack Road. Don't get me wrong, the seniorita bread is still delicious and the best, WHEN THEY AREN'T BURNT! Is anyone else having this issue with this location? The last 4-6 times I been there, the top layers are perfect. But the layers towards the bottom are so over baked/burnt that it is brown, does not melt in your mouth, and is more like a cracker. Unfortunately, my sons love this place, and I order the bigger box lately just so I actually get 25 pieces that are delicious, but 15 of them on the bottom are horrible and tossed. read more

Starbread Bakery is the best bakery in the plaza! Don't go to Valerio's or Red Ribbon. Just go here if you want warm, sweet buttery bread. Starbread Bakery is famous for their senorita bread, and I 100% recommend it. Senorita bread is tiny, but it's is well worth the price ($0.40 per piece). I can literally eat 10s of these at a time, especially when you first buy them. As soon as you order them, they come out warm, brushed with butter and topped with a little sugar. The bread is so light and fluffy. I've never encountered bread like this anywhere else! I also like how the price of the bread has not changed over the past 6 plus years. The prices are still the same for as long as I can remember! The only downfall with this place is how many people there can be. On a few occasions, there are lines outside of the door! So I would recommend going early in the morning or after lunch/before dinner for shorter lines. Overall, I would definitely recommend this bakery! Starbread Bakery has been on my list of places to visit, and I finally made the time to visit before work this weekend. My husband came with me because he was dropping me off for wok. I picked up some breads for my dinner (at work) and for the following day. THE GOODS - I purchased a bag of pan de ube (4 pcs/bag) and a bag of pan de sal (didn't count how many pieces for this). The breads were very fresh and soft. The pan de ube had just about an equal ratio of bread to filling, so expect get some ube with each bite. The ube was not overly sweet (like I've experienced at some other Filipino bakeries). It was just the right amount of sweet and added flavor to the bread shell. The pan de sal was like your typical pan de sal, except it was nice and soft and not too dry. PRICE - The price for both of these was $4.50. Pretty reasonable given the freshness, taste, and quality of the breads. CUSTOMER SERVICE - Upon entering, I was greeted by a staff member. I wandered about the small bakery looking at everything. There was so much I wanted to try, but I didn't want to buy too much because my husband and I were in town for just the weekend. At that point, I had a bag of pan de ube in my hand and my husband had a bag of pan de sal in his. A different staff member came out from the back. I didn't know what the senorita bread (that was advertised throughout the bakery) was, so I asked the second staff member while pointing at one of the signs for the senorita bread. She said that it was the senorita bread. I tried to clarify and asked more specifically if it had filling, and if so, what filling. The same staff member got annoyed and replied, "Cheese and sugar." Then she immediately asked if we were ready to check out. I was still debating whether or not to buy a senorita bread to try, but okay, I guess it was time to check out? This entire time, my husband and I were the only customers there, so I didn't understand what the rush was about. ENVIRONMENT - Clean and neat little bakery. Everything was organized and labeled. Although the shelf with the breads was filled with many bags, it was easy to distinguish which bread was which. Overall, I'd give this place a 4 out of 5 stars (1 star down because of the service). The next time I'm back, I'll be trying their famous senorita bread, flan, and hopya ube. read more

Fresh little bakery spot I like to hit up from time to time when my brain craves this little dessert Kutsinta, I luv these little things topped with some shredded coconuts which they give you on the side. Addicted to fresh Señorita aka fluffy fresh out the oven buttery pastry! Vibe It was just one of those days, its unplanned and so random, yet with a adventurous tastebud. I was in the area craving for some sweet stuff after my lunch. Since i have heard about this place, but never come to visit since i got friends who usually buy it and delivers it to me. lol yea fancy like that. Well i figure i come in here and experience it myself. Layout It is hot inside, with blowing fans to cool you down. There is no indoor seating at all. Once you walk in, you will eye on the wall full of white boxes, waiting for you ti fill up with señoritas. Next is the display case with the other delicious ube, and sticky rice balls, and etc. Next is a prices for the señorita. PRICE / Señorita The least amount you can get is 5 pcs for $2 or up to 55 pcs for like $20 i think. Anyways the more the better! Of course i was on some what of a control, so i limit myself 5 pcs and guess what? it was so good they were gone in 5 mins. I timed myself one per minute ha. Anyways omg, soft and fluffy and buttery and sugary, just major foodgasm! Definitely worth a visit and you won't be disappointed. It does remind me of pig in a blanket, but nothing in the middle, but on the bottom is a shiny coating like sugar, or honey, but it is not too sweet. i wish i can just get less than 5 pcs, but that the least amount.
