We tried their rice cake things? I dont remember what it was called but it was alright, we also tried three malasadas and the bread wasnt that soft and not that much filling, would prob be better warm. Everything that we got was "cold" or room temp except the senorita bread. Pricing isnt that bad, their other goods are okay priced but i feel like their senorita bread it really cheap. Haven't been here in ages due to controlling my diabetes, but all that went out the window this morning! Was going to just pick up the standard senorita bread, but lo and behold I see new additions to the case (new to me at least)...Malasadas (strawberry, Bavarian and Dulce de Leche) and mochi donuts (coffee, taro and matcha tea) !! Ate a bit of each upon arriving at the house, and everything was fresh and flavorful. Donuts were good and Dulce de Leche was malasada was filled proportionately. Also, props goes to the cashier who multi-tasked effectively (answering phone, grabbing orders, taking orders)...and all were done in a pleasant tone and mannerisms...something not seen in retail nowadays. My stomach is content, but arteries probably clogged until meds kick in . But hey, indulging in Starbread goodies every now and then ain't bad! I recently stopped by Starbread and ordered a 5 piece Senorita bread, a Nutella malasada, and an ube ensaymada. I already knew that I loved the Senorita bread, because I had tried it before. They are small, highly addictive pieces of lightly iced bread pastries that come out to about fifty cents each, depending how many you order. The Senorita bread is very similar to the Staxx bread at (the competition), except it's a little less sweet, and way less drippy. I thought they had just enough icing, but I would have liked more. Like most bread, it's best eaten fresh and hot. (If you haven't tried it fresh and hot, then you haven't really had the full Starbread experience yet.) The ube ensaymada bread itself was not super sweet-- it was about as sweet as Mexican sweet bread, but the icing on top was a little sweeter than that. I have a mega sweet tooth, so it was barely sweet enough for me, but I liked the flavor a lot. I texted my mom a picture of it, and she texted back, "Does it taste better than it looks?" Lol... (yes). The Nutella malasada was basically just a filled donut. It was really good. I liked that there was just enough powdered sugar to coat the outside, but not enough to overpower the rest of the donut. (I mean, malasada.) The customer service was great. The girl who helped me was attentive, fast, and friendly. There are so many great bakeries in this area, and Starbread is one of the best. I highly recommend trying it at least once! read more

You know it makes me so sad. When the employees will deliberately lie to your face and tell you something that is not true, so I go in this morning on Christmas Day. Nonetheless, asking the lady for some starbread, you know, I like this place yell. I asked for the glaze on top. The lady turned me down. She says that we do not do that. I told her that's not true. While I was checking out seafood city, I also checked out Starbread. My family have been talking about it but I've never been. So I finally was able to visit. I wasn't really sure what a starbread was or tasted like. Only what people were describing as. I wasn't sure if I should get a bunch of them or just a few. They sell them in packs of 10,15,20,25 and so on. One of the ladies working there gave me a sample. It was warm, fresh out of the oven it seemed like. It was good. It's like a mini roll with some kind of sweet filling inside and some butter and sugar sprinkled around it. They weren't very expensive so I got a 20 pack, which I really shouldn't be eating by myself. I thanked them for the sample. If I'm ever in that area of Sacramento again, I'll stop by and try the other bakery items on the shelf . They looked good. read more

During the early hours of trying to wake up to prep for a car show, the signage of 'STARBREAD' shook me out of my daze... I definitely made a beeline to get some Señorita bread. Having some Señorita bread fresh really hits the spot with some coffee. There are quite a lot of other options available here as well as Filipino desserts, they all look quite delicious- maybe another time for me to try as I was only here for Señorita bread this time. This shop is small, but you're hit with the delicious smell as soon as you come in. In the morning, it looks quite busy as there isn't anyone in the front and a lady scrambling around. The line does build up, but if you're just here for Señorita bread bread, it seems to go pretty quick; just give them the amount you want (would probably be better to call ahead if you're getting a large order). Ordering is kind of curt and rushed, the lady will rush you (but understandable with a line building up and only her running the foh). Final Thoughts: Simple, no nonsense in and out to get Señorita bread. I would be back to check out other items if I'm in the area. First timer and was told this is a local favorite -- I could see why. This family owned business has a super small store front which is literally big enough for customers to walk in to order, and then be on their merry way. My girlfriend and I stopped by on Saturday afternoon and there was a line. With social distancing guidelines, the store only allowed three people inside at a time. We picked up a couple boxes of senorita bread which is what these guys are known for and a bunch of other sweet snacks. Desserts were great, prices are awesome, and the selection offers something for everyone. If you're in the area, treat yourself to some home style baked goods while supporting a family owned and operated business. Ordered 5 ube hopia and three bags of pandesal (bread buns) and total was $10! They have Apple Pay which is convenient. Ube hopia was good obviously since there are 3 missing from the picture attached lol... it was flaky and the soft because of the ube paste. It wasn't an overpowering ube flavor but just subtle.
