I really enjoyed Starbread for their fresh baked goods! Despite it being a small shop, there was a pretty good selection. I had gone to Bad Bakers the weekend before coming to Starbread, so I was able to make comparisons easily. Their señorita bread is lighter, less sweet (think less sugar and butter/greasy feeling), and has more of a bread aroma than Bad Bakers. This isn't to say Bad Bakers isn't good, because it definitely was! I'd say that Bad Bakers has more of a chewy texture, which I preferred, and Starbread has more of a crisp "shell" on the outside and less chewy on the inside. I like both places for the different qualities, but if I was craving señorita bread, I'd realistically come to Starbread because it's closer to me. In any case, I'd take these qualities to consider before deciding on which bakery to go to! We also ordered 5 turon, and 1 ensaymada. The turon was still crispy despite not being warm when I got it. It was definitely fresh, but at room temperature. They drizzled a sugar sauce (I believe) on the turon, and the filling was what seemed to be plantain rather than banana (plantain is less sweet and a bit firmer in texture). I liked that it was balanced in terms of sweetness. I really was supposed to eat just 1 but ended up eating 2...even that wasn't enough! The ensaymada was good...soft and very chewy. It was a bit messy to eat, but worth it! I can definitely understand the hype around Starbread because their baked goods are so fresh and delicious. SEÑORITA BREAD MUST TRY The location is very ideal. Just off the 99 freeway and in a big shopping center. There are only three customers allowed inside the store so liens can be big. Don't let that scare you away! It's all worth it. As soon as I stepped inside it smelled amazing. While waiting I looked at the shelves and they had various empanada treats. Nutella, mango, cream cheese and more. I ended up getting the señorita bread. Took it home to a family gathering and everyone loved it. I tried the Leche Flan and it was so delicious! You can find this in the fridge. I tried the Cinnamon Roll and warmed it up in the microwave when I got home. It was fluffy and warm. It was a little too cinnamony for my taste. I tried the Malasada and the Apple turnover. The Apple turnover was good. Starboard bakery is an OG place in Sacramento known for their senorita bread. Their other food options are really nice including lumpia and other baked good. The senorita bread here is less sweet and and ever so slightly less fluffy then Bad Bakers but still very delicious. Prices are reasonable. Check it out! read more

I used to like the location in Natomas, but it's not a Starbread anymore and the bread just doesn't taste very good either. I have to either go to Roseville or South Sac to get my Señorita bread. The service is always good a pretty darn fast even when busy and I like that I can get me some Bibingka as well, which is one of my favorites. My daughter and honey loves the hotdogs and rice balls on a stick, I forgot the name of it. I can't forget about the Lumpia either, it's so good. This Starbread location Is quite a bite out of the way, but is so worth the trip. I highly recommend getting there early as a lot of the baked selections outside of the señorita bread sell out pretty fast there have been times I've got there at 11am and many item were sold out so heads up. Nothing I've have has ever disappointed. When I need a sweet tooth fix Starbread is one of my go to spots. read more

This place is terrible! Do not ever go here! Or else, you will never leave! Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! We always come here to get the Senorita Bread whenever we have visitors in the house, or when we are planning to visit friends away from home. It's a more welcome gift than bringing a bottle of wine to a friend's place! (Of course, depending on the price of the wine, then I night make an exception...Ha-ha-ha!) They come in boxes of different quantities. We visited a friend one time and bought 100 pieces. Arrived at our friends' at lunchtime. After the coffee was served, the Senorita Bread was passed around...and none of it made it even before dinner! Next time, we'll try for 200 pieces... Starbread Bakery is the place to go for senorita/Spanish bread. They were the first in the area to have this type of bread, and still remain my favorite. I could probably eat 10 pieces in one sitting. As far as the customer service, they are always nice and helpful. I never have any issues. I've ordered ahead of time & it was ready for pickup on time. I've also ordered a large box walking in, and they are able to accommodate. The store is not too big, but they do have a sign that limits more than 3 customers inside at a time. Whenever I go to Elk Grove, I would stop by here and I went over the weekend. I was surprised at the increased cost of the senorita bread but that was to be expected. The sizes of the bread doesn't seem to have decreased. The bakery offers more options now. Before it was just senorita bread, hot pastries and pastry packets. Now they offer various fillings of malasadas, dessert drink and more. I got the 20 pieces and 40 pieces of senorita, $36. The other items I got were their cheese dog (1/2 cheese and hot dog), pretzel dog, chicken empanadas, ham and cheese roll, and dulce de leche malasadas. Total came to $82, which could have been higher if I opted to get a larger box of senorita. Inside of the bakery is small. Service is quick and staff have been nice. Make sure you know your orders ahead of time to not waste the staff's time. Every time I go here, the cashier is also the one who boxes the senorita bread from the back. The box comes out with fresh bread, warm and smelling so delicious. Great to have with coffee for breakfast or snack or whenever. read more

Who likes Starbread? I love Starbread!!! Ever since the Natoma's location is no longer a Starbread I make the trek to the South Sacramento location. They always was what I like and the service is fast and easy. I always look that the food case to see what I have a taste for. I usually order the jalapeño & cheese dog, Ham cheddar & Jalapeño roll, Cheese dog and the sesame seed dog when they aren't sold out and of course the señorita bread which my honey loves and she can eat them without worrying about her many food allergies. The staff is always friendly and efficient especially during this pandemic. I like how they are very clean and only allow 3 customers in at a time. The senorita bread here is soooo good. It may be a bit smaller than other places, but it is way superior to other bakeries. Especially because they hot.
