This Starbucks on East 51st in Mueller is easily my favorite location, at least interior wise, it just feels more modern, open, and comfortable than most. The layout flows well, plenty of seating, good light, and it never feels chaotic even when it's busy. I also love the electronic online ordering board, it makes pickup super smooth and you are not stuck wondering where your drink is in the crowd. Service is usually quick, the team keeps things moving, and my go to, a grande Caramel Macchiato, is consistently on point, for the win every time. Only reason it is not five stars is that it can still get pretty packed at peak hours, but overall this is my top Starbucks to hang out or grab and go in Austin. read more

I came here on a Saturday afternoon, ordered two drinks and it took 20 minutes to make. Granted there was only one person, but there wasn't a lot of people inside. Working out of here is good. Music isn't too loud and there aren't a lot of people making noise, but who knows during actual peak times. Really good Starbucks! Employees helped with order as well as with offers. Good selection of unique Starbucks mugs and products. Chestnut Praline coffee was really good and you could taste all the elements perfectly. Compliments to the barista Hot chocolate wasn't hot but it tasted alright. Ambiance was perfect. I have been stopping by here while on my runs for more than 2 years and I have always been attended to perfectly until today. Came around 7:10pm on 4/4 and asked for a grande water light ice as always, and some lady with pinkish hair said I had to purchase something in order to get a WATER. I asked her since when has this rule been in place and she said since forever. There's a Hispanic gentleman that usually take care of me when I stop by and he was sweeping, I asked him if he could help me and he did immediately. The pink hair lady looked very annoyed and went to the back to hide while the gentleman helped me and got my water. Apparently she's the shift supervisor/manager and she acted very unprofessional and with a bad attitude. Horrible service by her. Great service by the gentleman! read more

Quick update but this place has the most sketchy evening characters. Now that the indoor seating is closed, I'd definitely recommend not sticking around here. In my first 30 minutes around 7pm, there were two homeless people soliciting and another guy putting on a show (of indecent exposure). I feel bad for knocking off stars because I don't know what the staff can do, but I just had to put that out there. This is my favorite Starbucks location which is why I am the Duke. Today they had a Pop-Up Cheer Party, wrapping up the Season with a free tall handcrafted Espresso beverage. Well, it's a Starbucks, but I do think it's one of the better ones - as good as they get actually. The staff is friendly, and good at what they do. The wifi is fast. The restrooms are clean. Plenty of outlets for charging your devices. Tip: look under the edge of tables, or at the foot of the seats by the Berkman side window for outlets. Cons: parking can be difficult to impossible sometimes - the slots are so narrow that a lot of times you're likely to see people park their car in two spots at once. Also, this place is WAY more architecturally appealing than most Starbucks, and also has that great Mueller vibe to it. I definitely recommend THIS location (Berkman & Barbara Jordan) over the one that's just 3 mins away (I-35 and Barbara Jordan) - a lot of Yelp reviews seems to confuse the two locations! read more

Went yesterday (9/22/2020). I ordered three drinks with the mobile app and saw the receipt count down until it was ready. I went in and it wasn't ready. Waited another 5 min. Still not ready. A customer was wearing a mask below their nose and they didn't say anything. Worst of all, a customer put their hand all over the top of their frappacino lid and and then asked for whipped cream. The employee put whipped cream on the drink through the lid of said cup, and the whipped cream nozzle was not cleaned afterwards. My local Starbuck's is just short of 5 stars. It had a great vibe inside with a lot of locals hanging out right next to 51st street and Berkman. The service is rather quick and the staff is always super nice and happy! I just wish that there was a drive through as it would make it easier especially if you're in a rush or if you have children....Then again I am starting to notice that in the ATX region that most you have to walk-in. They crank the AC / HVAC up so high, the temperatures inside of this starbucks location hovered at 63F in an summer when hot outside. You would have to wear a winter coat and beanie in the middle of summer to be inside. It's kind of crazy and seriously cold in there. I love the layout of this location next to the Mueller HEB but this Starbucks in general can be mixed on quality and cleanliness. Sadly, many Starbucks have become iffy and some I avoid altogether. If the prep area with sweeteners is consistently gross and dirty with any overflowing trash, I'd recommend finding another Starbucks. Today I was looking to get a grande sized coffee and a Sous Vide egg entree. One look at the Sous Vide offerings in the display case changed all that. They were all covered in small specks of green mold. This is a clear sign that baristas here aren't paying attention to doing their jobs properly. I passed on any of the food offerings and ordered an Anniversary blend coffee. The coffee was okay, not the freshest, but okay. The barista was a short lady who appeared to be Asian. She was nice and the service of coffee was fine. The coffee prep area needed a wipe down but it was appropriately stocked with sweeteners and all powdered flavorings. I hope this location can get better focused on quality. It's a nicely designed Starbucks. read more

I'm conflicted on this review. There are certainly a lot of positives. The space has ample seating and the windows bring in plenty of sunlight. Patio seating is ideal on a nice day. The people are AWESOME and really nice. It super-convenient to access. Grab a coffee and then do your grocery shopping at HEB! But I can't go here when I get my coffee beans ground. They can't seem to get the grind right for our coffee machine even when we're specific on what we're looking for. The other locations don't seem to have this issue. Maybe it just needs some time to workout the kinks. I get too many bags of coffee beans where this is sort of a problem. I'll still come to get regular coffees, drinks, and food. I hope the Starbucks Evenings rumors are true though. If so, then stay tuned for an updated review! read more
