Three stars is appropriate. Sunday morning, 8:15am. Not crowded at all. Barista was friendly, but not Starbucks friendly. My order of caramel brûlée latte extra-hot was ready pretty quickly. This is a fine Starbucks, nothing stand out but nothing overly negative. It's fairly large with lots of seating. The staff was good, nothing extraordinary. The wait for my drink was pretty average too. I used my own cup and had no issues one way or the other. The location is of course a nightmare with Costco in the same complex. It's crowded and hard to get in and out. I wouldn't go here unless I was already there for another reason. Just got for convenience if you need some generic coffee. read more

This Starbucks location is my pitstop when I'm working in Carlsbad. The location is relatively spacious with some outdoor seating. I feel like there is a 50/50 chance my order will be ready via mobile order, even with ample time. Staff for the most part is relatively friendly. I stop at this Starbucks often as it's right across the street from my job but honestly I like coming to this location due to the hospitality you receive as soon as you walk in! You are greeted as soon as you walk in, the line is never too bad, the store is clean, the customer service is impeccable and your food is literally walked out to you. This morning everyone was so kind as usual but a barista completely made my morning when he brought out my food order, he drew a Water Lily and it was such a great touch! I truly appreciate it! I don't know what is going on with this location, but I feel like I'm in a bad twilight zone episode every single time. I live for the Sbux mobile app, and every other location gets the order done quickly and just rocks it in general. Three different occasions, I've come here on my way to work (I always put my mobile order in 15 mins ahead of time when I leave the house) and two times in a row, they hadn't even started the order by the time I walked in... and each time it's been in the slower time of afternoon, with one or two other people in the lobby picking up drinks. I waited for a full 5 minutes (thinking the food was in the oven) before checking in with one of the baristas, who, without an ounce of urgency, casually let another barista know to throw my order in. I finally got my [burnt] egg bites (woohoo) but along I went. Second time, same thing happened; rather than seeing my package pleasantly decorated alongside its other friends on the counter, I knew straight away I'd have to remind the staff that I had a mobile order. Alas, I'm still trying to be laid back about it, and again, that same barista very aloofly let another barista know to put my food order in. And what do you know, they still messed up the order, even with a printed ticket and my verbal reminder... ‍ They got the burnt eggs part down, but they were the wrong type. So I get it now; don't order egg bites at this location. Now I'm not one to complain after one bad mess up, we're all human after all, but when you're a repeat offender and lack a sense of ownership for your mistake each time, something's gotta give. As a previous employee and manager, I can tell you that putting pre-packaged food in the oven and hitting a button isn't rocket science. I respect the restaurant industry hustle (as a bartender for many years too) but there's not even a hint of that here. I know from experience, typically you should do everything in your power to rectify your mess up(s). Anyway, that said, I stopped making food orders at this location, hoping that would make it easier. But low and behold, my last order there, they messed up a grande iced coffee... a legit plain ol' iced coffee... I mean, what?... How?... Why? So many questions, but until management works out the kinks, I'll just stick with the other locations. read more

Great location. Easy to grab a cup of joe before heading over to Costco... I've recently become a reluctant starbucks fan. It might have something to do with it's perks program that offers free refills and free food items after x number of purchases. I also appreciate that the coffee is brewed consistently fresh and even tasting. I've even gotten used to the semi-over roasted taste. But I do love that every Starbucks provides fast, friendly service. This place is no exception- fast, friendly service with great coffee. And it's actually reasonable- I bring in my reusable 12 oz cup and it costs $1.85. Parking is surprisingly easy. Even though the parking lot is relatively small, you can get a spot near the door. read more

This location is one of the hardest to get to just because right as you enter the area, it's also the same area to enter for costco and costco gas! When I came to place my order here, all the baristas really seem to care about were the mobile orders because it took about 25 minutes before I actually got my drink in hand and walked out the door. I was a little early for my hair appointment so I decided to get a drink. The store itself was empty except for 8 people standing near the pick up area. I order my drink and became the 9 person waiting. There was one poor girl making the drinks and three people standing on the other end of the counter bullshiting about nothing!! I stood there just waiting for someone to help her but no one came. Then I looked around at the store itself (I had nothing but time) and the place was a mess. Crumbs on all the tables the floor had crumbs and napkins and straws. Just a mess. While I was waiting the girl who cuts my hair came in and told me i was running late. I finally had enough. I went to the three people still talking and asked for a manager. Amazingly he was one of them!! I said that the only people in that store where people waiting for drinks,at that point the group grow to 11. Unbelievably he tells me that they were discussing what had happened that day. I let him know that I was waiting 15 minutes for my drink and the girl was not doing well with all the orders she had. He finally started helping her. I felt so bad for the girl. She was trying to get the job done but was just overwhelmed. I'll never go to this store again!!! I heard the store was going down hill and I saw for myself. Thank God I only have to go to this location once a week on Saturday's because i certainly could never be a regular. Not sure if maybe the employees are just slow, or maybe they don't care but they almost always open after 4:30am.... people have jobs and don't have time to be late because Starbucks employees can't get their opening work done by the time they OPEN. Please seriously consider new hires that have much better time management and have some kind of customer service experience. I had mobile order and expected to pick up 10 minutes after placing an order. It was kinda not busy day for them. I got there and waited for almost 10 minutes. All I saw what their staffs were busy chitchat and not even realize my order that went in more than 10 minutes ago. I asked one of them " Is my sandwich ready?" Then, they realized my order. I gave 2 stars for the barista that made my order correctly. She actually smiled after I thanked her. However I was not given a greeting by anyone upon entering the store and then was simply stared at by a bored and apparently entitled young man by the name of Cameron who felt too bothered to even smile. He didn't say a word to acknowledge that he was ready to take my order. Not a "Hi" or What would you like?" not a "How can I help you?" After I order my single drink he said, "Is that it?" Such poor manners. How about.., "Will that be all?" There is a difference! So I believe that Cameron needs a little training or re-training in the basics of polite greetings and just customer service in general. Overall it was a very unwelcoming feeling walking in to this Starbucks. This is the first Starbucks review I think I've ever written. On most visits in both the USA and in other countries I've always been impressed with Starbuck's consistent customer service and positive environment. read more

I dont know why this Starbucks has only 3 stars. I sat here for over an hour waiting for my ride and I witnessed nothing but excellent customer service. From every employee. They worked quickly doing in person and mobile orders. I was even offered samples x2 and a cup of water while I waited. They also addressed multiple people by name, yes I know it's on the cup, but they didnt have to. Asked with genuine interest how people were doing, how their weekend went. :) I accidentally made eye contact with a few of the employees and each of them asked if I had what I needed and if they could do anything else for me. I had been fed up from driving around to multiple locations and the wonderful Grace at this location made my day! She is absolutely so sweet and has amazing customer service. Starbucks is so-so. You pay for its convenience but the coffee is really nothing special so what stuck out to me this morning was the service. Meagan, who took my drink order, was extremely rude. I wanted a triple soy peppermint mocha and before I could finish my (admittedly) complicated order, Meagan rudely interrupted to ask what size I wanted. While that question is important, interrupting a customer is never okay. Had it been busy, like Starbucks usually are, maybe I would've understood her rush. But there was only one person behind me so there is no excuse. Judging by the other reviews, Meagan seems to have had terrible impressions on many other customers. read more

I come to this Starbucks regularly since I work down the street. They actually mess up my order frequently but are very quick to redeem themselves. One time I order 4 sandwiches and 4 beverages but only 2 sandwiches came out but she expedited my other 2 sandwiches and gave me a free gift card. Then today I ordered a nitro cold brew which is my regular order. The one at the register looked new because I have never seen her before. When my order came out a regular cold brew was made and I said I ordered a nitro. The Batista that I've seen there all the time didn't argue and just made my nitro with no questions asked. So instead of me complaining I left a happy camper. read more
