This particular Starbucks earns that fifth star better than any of the surrounding locations. The good-- 1. They have an excellent manager. Her name is Susan "Susie" Reveles. It's the trickle down effect. She's warm, courteous and kind and tends to hire the same ilk of people to work in this store. 2. This location is sizable inside and offers a large center table with plug ins underneath in the center of the room. 3. They can get packed (just like every other Starbucks can) but are adept at moving along their line. 4. Lots of free parking. 5. Good air conditioning system and their music soundtrack isn't overwhelmingly loud or annoying. 6. Two bathrooms. They keep them pretty clean. 7. Their espresso machine is calibrated better than the location on Avenida Encinas. You get a better espresso pour. I would only add large shade umbrellas to cover the outside tables better. This place is like most other Starbucks. I like the refrigerated are with the sandwiches and stuff, that is different from a lot of them. There wasn't really a line when I came in, but it was after 6pm. The barista made my drink fairly quickly, and was friendly. WORST customer service. I get it it's coffee and pastries but you walk in there and it feels like a funeral home. Quiet and everyone looks like they need that extra shot of Espresso. I order my usual tea and a muffin and it took 15 minutes. 15 minutes for tea and muffin!! I had to remind them about my muffin because they forgot I ordered it. I was one of 3 people in there. When I asked where my muffin was I was given a look of "who do you think you are asking where your muffin is". This Starbucks has become my favorite. Starbucks headquarters took care of the overcharging situation. They also corrected the manager and moved her onto another location. Yikes! After reading the reviews below about the cost difference, I will have to start paying better attention. But aside from that, and since I have never personally noticed it, I love this location. They are much quicker than the location up Palomar Airport by Staples and have always been super friendly. The flow of the store is very fluid and they have a nice outside patio. I love this addition to the Costco shopping plaza, but having all these wonderful options in one location obviously congests parking. I usually go around the same time when I stop in for my morning coffee and do not have any problems with parking. I would never dare stop in on a Saturday-- no thank you! This is a Starbucks so you know what to expect. I'm a regular here on my way to work and it's very convenient with the Costco gas station and a Wells Fargo ATM within walking distance of each other. My experience has always been good in this Starbucks. Staff is very helpful and works well together. My Cold Brew has always been just right and I will continue to be a regular here! We are Starbuck fans and frequent many different Starbucks stores. This is our favorite. We've been coming since it opened. Our favorite things: Great Service especially from Melinda, Taylor, Amelia, Cameron and Eden. They treat us like old friends and have our food and drinks prepared quickly and say hello to us when we come to the store. Everyone working there seems to be very motivated, works really hard, and makes us feel welcome. Stopped here on the way home from a convention in Coronado. We needed to get some gas at the Costco and this Sbux was conveniently located next door. Got in line and the barista that just got off of work insisted I crowd her in line. Super nice and a good first impression. The drinks are fairly consistent throughout the Sbux universe, although they forgot to sweeten my drink. Added some sugar and got back on the road. Notes: 1. Coupled with the Costco Gas next door it's the perfect road trip pit stop. 2. As with all Sbux register your rewards card and take advantage of the free drinks. 3. Really disappointed with the customer service. I ordered two drinks and was waiting for a while. One of the workers (female in a tie dye shirt) knew the two customers that ordered after me and they were served first, even though I placed my order before them. Then another customer came in and he knew the Starbucks workers too so he got served before me as well. I was hoping I would get one of two drinks that I ordered next, because I did notice that my drink had already been blended and was sitting on the counter, but no. Another customer that had ordered after me got her drink. That's not cool don't do that to your customers. Came here last year while visiting Legoland I found the employee serving me rude and felt was prejudiced. I thought it was a fluke but again today this girl was the same. I think it's the culture at this Starbucks. I asked for a refill and she rudely said "you have to pay". I am a gold card member and do get free refills so a nice person could have asked if I was a member. This is my every day go to Starbucks. I always do a mobile order and pick it up before work. Well....the team now knows who I am haha. Very friendly staff for the most part. There was one girl there (I don't think I see her much anymore) who has a little bit of an attitude. I've watched here while waiting for my mobile order and she tends to say a lot under her breath. Bad way to spend your vacation... We decided to stop at Starbucks to fuel up before our trip to the outlets.. Big mistake. I noticed that my ham and Swiss sandwich tasted a little off but trying not to be too picky I ate it. Immediately felt nauseous and spent the entire day in the restroom. I guess I can thank them for not over spending at the outlets but not a fun way to spend the day. I know it was the sandwich because it was the only thing I had eaten in about 14 hours... Note food that sits around too long can make you sick. It grows Bacteria and once you reheat it the bacteria dies but the toxins live on... Be careful! read more
