The morning crew that were here at 8:20 on Sunday, June 25th in the drive through MADE MY DAY. They were SO much fun and so personable. I expected to get my shot of energy from my coffee, but got it instead from the amazing customer service and upbeat attitude of the baristas. Literally in the parking lot outside writing this review because they effing deserve to be praised. I live near this store and usually it's a decent experience however, I just received 2 drinks from the drive thru and asked to pay separately, her tone changed and she gave me a long sigh thru the microphone . The platinum blonde girl working the window gave me a gnarly stare when I got to the window that would have been taken as aggressive if it wasn't for the half smile that threw me off long enough to drive away with my drinks that I later realized taste like crap as they are completely missing the sweetener(caramel macchiato devoid of vanilla). Passive aggressiveness has no place in hospitality. Especially a place that caters to alterations. I always have weird orders, and this time I wanted 5 shots of espresso blended with just ice and SF Vanilla/Mocha blend. Told them to do whatever they wanted with the syrups in whatever proportion they thought was good...came out great! Kept me up the whole day, 4:30am to 8:30am the next day! I visit Starbucks (not always this location), on average, 5 days per week. If I order the same drink 100 times, it should be made the same way 100 times. I think Starbucks would agree with that--for quality, customer satisfaction, inventory control, and other reasons. I'm tired of what I call Lazy Barista Syndrome (LBS), a condition whose symptoms include taking shortcuts, shortchanging the customer, and hoping hoping we won't notice. At this location, "Cam" exhibits an advanced case of LBS. She does whatever it takes to jam a cup in my hand, even if it's not quite what I ordered. When I order a black tea lemonade, Cam, pour black tea into the plastic shaker to the appropriate fill line. Then add lemonade to the appropriate fill line. Add ice, using the appropriate scoop. Shake. Serve. Don't randomly pour tea and lemonade into a cup, add some ice, swish it around one or twice, and hand me an unmixed, not-quite-chilled beverage. I returned my drink today (without asking for a replacement) and promise to return it every single time you take shortcuts. To the local store manager, it's time to remind your staff what customers are paying good money for. And maybe offer a refresher on the procedures everyone was taught when they started. I was just at the Starbucks on hwy111 in cathedral city ca. (Next to target) and my fiancé was ordering for us while I had to make a phone call to sprint. (So I knew exactly what time we walked in.) he finished ordering. Well 20 mins pass and we still don't have our drinks. So we both walk up to the counter and I say. Me: "Excuse me, we have been waiting about 20-25 mins and we still don't have our drinks" Employee responds: "Yeah! So has everyone else"!" Me: No, there were about 4 people that ordered after us that have already left. Employee: yeah we are busy. What did you order? I'll check on it. (With attitude) So I told her what we ordered and she tells me "ok" 5 mins later I hear a male voice say. "Their drinks have been sitting here. And someone forgot to give it to them" So they are remaking our drinks of course. Well another 10-15 mins pass and still NOTHING! So I finally said "can I please speak to the manager?" Employee: we don't have a manager we only have a shift lead. Me: that's fine. Shift lead: yes how can I help you. Me: look, I'm paying for good service and I'm getting really Shitty service on top of a really shitty attitude. I would like your corporate phone number on top of the name of the manager of your store" Shift lead: I apologize I'm so sorry you had bad service and I'm sorry that you've been here for 30 mins. Me: you know I work with a company where we see 100's of people a day. And in that field you learn to adjust your attitude when your busy. Some people you have working here need to learn how to adjust theirs. He ended up refunding my money of course. But I'm so upset that I had such crappy service! Reading through the comments, I don't understand why people are giving this particular Starbucks such mediocre reviews. I thought this Starbucks was absolutely incredible. They newly renovated it, the staff are always working hard and on top of it all they're extremely pleasant and efficient. Lady behind me came in and was obviously frustrated at the size of the line, but I assured her that "these guys move fast, don't worry". Sure enough in a matter of two minutes we were already next in line. I came in this morning like I normally do and ordered a somewhat annoying drink, caramel frappuccino blended three times with extra whip cream, sounds simple but for a barista it's both annoying and time-consuming when you have 12 drinks to make simultaneously... I need to shine the spotlight on one particular individual, Camilla, who I noticed smiles that every single customer she interacts with, hustles harder than any other employee, and made my drink EXACTLY the way I imagined it should be made. Every time I've come in Camilla has been the hardest working but most pleasant person on the floor and doesn't show a bleak of frustration irritation or fatigue. As a former Barista myself, this is something extremely rare to find. Camilla, if you're reading this, please know that you shine bright and your work will not go unnoticed. The barista at register was not friendly and my drink took 15-20 minutes. I've never experienced this at other Starbucks. It was not very busy inside, so maybe they were prioritizing drive up? I finally inquired to make sure it hadn't slipped through cracks. Again, rude response. When it finally did get made, customer service continued to be poor. They all acted miserable doing their job. My uncle loves going here every day for two months while on vacation but is very disappointed many mornings when they run out of papers by 7:00am and he has to go to Vons. He has inquired with the staff as to who he can chat with, like a manager, to request they order more papers. Unfortunately the staff does not seem to know who can order more or interested in trying to assist him. I went there around 1:30pm and my mother got her coffee. We left the store to do our things and I realized I didn't have my 10,000$ marriage ring. I left in their restroom and I desperately called to see if anyone had returned it and to see if it was still there. A young male answered the phone and when I told him its a platinum ring with a big amethyst diamond. He tells me hold on. I'm on hold for like a second and he notifies me that the ring isn't there. And I asked did you check the restroom? Yes and no it isn't there. Did anyone return it to you guys? He kept telling me and that he was sorry it's not found. And here is the the main issue that I had with them today, he did not take my number or name to call me if he finds it or if someone returns it in. Nor did he sound concern. The customer service is trash especially when someone is asking to thoroughly see if the ring showed up. Taking that note that he didn't get my name or number I did not believe him that he checked. I drove back took me an hour cause of traffic, I went to the restroom and I found my ring sitting there where I left it. How the hell did he not see it if it was by the sink all this time. Thank God I followed my intuition and I found my ring. I don't understand a business that tells a client oh I'm sorry it's lost oh I'm sorry I didn't find it when it was right there all that time. And did not even take my number and name. If a client loses something and they call you your priority is to see where it's at and to get their name and number if it were to showed up during your shift. I know it's a busy place but don't LIE and tell me it's LOST. Wtf! If you're NOT gonna check don't tell me a lie! NEVER coming to this Starbucks. Sadly, I will not return to this Starbucks! Renee who claims to be the manager refused service to me. I normally order a venti iced chai tea in a trenta cup so I can get extra ice. She told me she was not aloud to do that. When her staff is the one that recommended me get this size so I can get the extra ice. She didn't care that I told her this has been my signature drink for years, she still refused to make my drink this way. I called corporate and will make sure to get to the bottom of this.
