this is consistently one of the worst starbucks in charlotte. they always mess up drinks & they close way too early.

While engaging in pointless, self-righteous conversations at hipster bars I am always that pseudo-renegade, too-cool-for-anything-mainstream sorta douche, so admitting that I not only go, but actually enjoy, Starbuck's coffee is not something I'd parade around publicly... drat! I only order one of two things at Starbucks (or any other coffee shop for that matter), a latte or coffee-flavored-coffee ("the darkest roast you have"). I'm not a big fancy, flavored coffee drinker but I am a huge coffee drinker. This Starbuck's alone doesn't have a whole lot of personality but the employees are always very friendly and engaging. I rarely go inside, unless Boy1 or 3 drags us into Game Stop next door. The drive thru, even though usually 4-5 cars deep, is very fast and the staff speaks clearly and are very thorough. During my last visit a couple of days ago the guy at the drive thru window, realizing my coffee was taking longer than usual, struck up a nice conversation about Halloween and kids and whatnot. Nice touch since I was in a hurry and was getting visibly antsy. He apologized for the delay and just made me forget that I was getting upset at the delay. That was very cool. I also really enjoy their breakfast sandwiches because they DO NOT taste processed. Not that they're the most flavorful or healthy, they just don't taste pre-made... which is odd because they are! Bottom line, it's a coffee shop but the employees' always-positive-and-cheerful attitude make it a little better than most other similar places. read more

i only give me star because i was able to get my drinks but i came at 5:45 on december 14, light tone skinny african american women with long pony tail and big feminine african american man. they were incredibly rude the entire time. i was ordering and they kept cutting me off saying "is that it" i had three drink orders and i was only on the first one, when i mentioned cold foam the woman came on the mic and said we definitely aren't doing that, and i asked if i needed to get another drink, and they said to continue with my order and they were both going back and forth complaining. i didn't even feel comfortable picking up the order in fear that they would do something with the drinks, but they were for my coworkers so i stayed and they forgot to add caramel drizzle to my drink and the man reached out and said "you didn't ask for that " and snatched the drink and handed it back to me. i am so disgusted with the service, i use to come here all the time and i will never stop again. i will drive further to a different starbucks before ever going to this location again. please fix this, im sure im not the only one who has dealt with this. i had to return to work with feeling like my day was ruined. read more

I go to this Starbucks frequently and shame on me for not posting more reviews. The staff is great and this store is managed well. This morning Keegan brought sunshine to my day. This young man was very personable and his attitude reminded me of the importance of letting people know what a great job they are doing. In the current climate of people not wanting to come back to work, it can be stressful to perform at peak, but this store finds a way to do just that. Kudos to all of you!!! I was just currently at this Starbucks location and all the doors were locked with plenty of employees inside. There was no sign on the door and no workers came out to let us know what was going on. They just ignored us all while we waited and knocked on the door. The time was 11:15 am, 5 hours after they were supposed to be open. If they were having technical difficulties or something went wrong, they should have at least let all of their waiting customers know. Terrible customer service to just ignore us all! I had to give it one star to continue with my review or else it would be zero! For a multi-billion dollar company, they should be held to exemplary customer service. I went in on my way to work one morning just after they opened ordered a smoothie, then while it was being made the other 2girls carried on a conversation about one of their moms and how controlling she was. Do I really care No then the whole time never acknowledged I was even there, contined talking to each never even looked at me when she handed me my drink, no thank, you, come again, or kiss my butt, just give me something. I frequent Starbucks all over the south east and this is probably the worst I have ever been to. The staff is friendly, yet that can't save it from the flaws. The staff's organization is awful and it is apparent that they don't work together well. The last time I went to this Starbucks I was the only customer in the store waiting for a drink yet the barrista served SIX cars in the drive-thru before even acknowledging me still waiting. I shrugged at her like "what's going on with my drink?" she came over and said "sorry I had to make 6 Frappucinos for all those cars" I responded "well I'm as much of a customer as those people and all I'm having is a basic latte and I ordered before them anyways". It sounds like a petty complaint, but this is what I mean by organizational issues. After she handed me my drink I checked the receipt and the clock. SEVEN MINUTES. I waited seven minutes for a basic latte as the ONLY customer in the store. There's no excuse for skipping my order multiple times to serve the drive-thru even if drive-thru takes priority over customers actually in the store. To make matters worse, while I was waiting the man that took my order was just standing at the cash register doing absolutely nothing. About 5 minutes into my wait I gave him the "Is someone making my drink?" look and he quickly looked away from me and started moving some things around in the back to look busy. At any other Starbucks an idle employee would jump in and help make drinks to catch the barrista up, yet there was no teamwork between these employees. It's just awful and I've had similar experiences at this location multiple times, which is the only reason I'm taking the time to even say anything about it. If the inside is busy and attention is being given to you then your experience will be fine, but if you go midday and it's slow inside may god have mercy on your thirsty soul. read more

Starbucks basically has 2 types of stores: one for loiterers and one for commuters. Loitering Starbucks have spacious dining areas, but no driv-thru. This is definitely a 'commuter' Starbucks; smallish interior but with a drive-thru. Now, I'm a fan a Starbucks much like I am any other coffeehouse. My caffeine tooth (or perhaps nerve ending) doesn't discriminate. This particular Starbucks is probably not the best place to set up a laptop (no reading nooks, just a hallway really), but it is somewhere to get a quick cup of java. The staff are really funny and talkative if you give them a chance. I had this barista chat me up about how she wouldn't watch New Moon but she loved the soundtrack. And she wasn't even taking my order! The cashier had plenty of pep as well. I guess then that it begs to reason that you should go inside and talk to the baristas...you be the judge. read more

This is the closest Starbucks to Whitehall Business Park in Charlotte, NC. They have a drive through that I've visited on various days and times that's pretty easy to get through. The parking lot it's in is kind of tight and the outdoor seating area is not very inviting, but the service is quick. read more

Let me start off by saying that I have been to this Starbucks before and haven't ever had a problem...but my last visit was not what I was expecting. I was over on this side of town and remembered that Starbucks was have a customer appreciation day today between 2PM and 5PM where you could get a BOGO Carmel Cream Latte, Peppermint Mocha Latte, or a Gingerbread man Latte. I thought this would be a perfect time to utilize my gift card that I received from my Secret Santa so me and bf merrily go into the store. Everyone knows that when Starbucks throws deals like this then there is going to be a crowd...this was expected. We placed our orders (mine a Peppermint Moca and his the Carmel Cream Latte) and I used my gift card. So we have a few people in line and I hear one of the women who work there tell another, "Don't do it like that b/c you'll have cups lined up and just sitting here" then she walks to the back to wash some of the utensils. Well she must didn't care what she told her b/c she must have kept doing exactly what she was doing before...making drinks out of order. There was a couple in front of us and she handed the female her coffee and instead of making the one for the man she was with she makes my bf his coffee. Well quite naturally the man picks up the coffee thinking it's his, even went so far as to place a cozy on the cup, and once he had turned the coffee several times and read what it was he then realized that it wasn't his. By this time she had made mine (still the guy is waiting on his drink). I took mine, picked up the one that the guy had and asked her to remake this one. "Why" she says with a slight attitude. I gave it right back to her and if you have read any of my other reviews you will know that I do not like my food or drink to be breathed over/picked up by strangers...and this is what I told her. So she starts making another coffee (I'm thinking she's remaking the bf) but she's making a drink for someone who is farther down the line (still the guy in front of us is waiting and he's getting pissed off). Then she makes my bf (so he gets his before the guy in front of us) and kinda shoves it to him. Starbucks - Peppermint mocha latte - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Charlotte, North Carolina

This has to be the worst Starbucks I have ever visited. I made the mistake of going here last Friday (2/12), and with only 3 cars ahead of me in the drive-thru line, it took 14 minutes to get to the window. They are so slow and make so many mistakes at this location that it takes forever to get anything. My chai latte, which I ordered extra-hot, was barely lukewarm when they handed it to me. The time on the sticker was 14 minutes prior to me getting it. I had ordered two breakfast sandwiches, and the idiot at the window waited until I pull up to her to tell me that they are out of that particular sandwich, and ask me if I want a different one. There's another 3-5 minutes waiting. Two drinks, two sandwiches, $20. Who else is that expensive? Then, for the service and quality of the items to be THAT bad is a complete slap in the face. I'm done with this location - I will never go back there. Too many decent places in the area to waste my time there. read more

Lately, I've had to leave the drive thru a couple of times --- before and after I've placed an order --- because it takes way too long. On this occasion, I went inside instead of going down the drive thru. If this is the kind of thing that's going on inside while people are waiting, then that just explains everything. Came in on the way out of town, not our usual bux. Used the bathroom, it was so dirty, no soap, paper towels falling out of the dispenser bc they were the wrong size. Waited over 10 minutes for a white mocha even though our food came about 5 minutes prior. I got a tall brew and about 2 inches short of the top. Horrible experience. read more

This Starbucks is the absolute worst. It never fails that 8/10 I go and they are out of what I order. I order the same thing every time I go. I hate to give this one star but it's time something is done about this location. On top of them being out of everything they have just gotten so slow, and it never fails I have to repeat my order 3 times or more because they didn't hear me. Aside from a busy parking lot, nothing other than a positive experience is waiting for you inside. This is my go-to location for my coffee fix. While I have been swayed by the fact that this location is planted less than a mile from my house and I know most of the baristas from my constant visits, a first time visitor should experience nothing less. Sunday seems to have a delayed crowd (I assume church-goers). Any weekday morning is your pick of an inside visit or drive-thru as your wait time will be about the same. read more

We've gone to this Starbucks 3 days in a row now because we're staying at a hotel down the street. Every single day I've been disappointed by this location. The staff is constantly chatting with each other and letting lines build up. Every time my mom and I would order tea and they would only make my tea, and my mom would have to go up and ask them where her tea is. Also we asked them to warm our pastries and they didn't. Went to this location to get some coffee and let my little guy pick a cookie. Upon walking in, there was a terrible urine smell. I was hoping it had come from outside, but it filled the entire place. It's come time that I finally write a review around this specific location (which is right by my work, so I come 3-4 times a week). I want to start by saying the customer service and friendliness of the staff at this location is a 5 star. The BIGGEST issue I have (along with many, many others) is how this place was designed. It was not thought through AT ALL. I get in traffic jams (literally trapped for 15-20 minutes at a time) all for parking to pick up my mobile order. The drive through and parking lot is so crammed that it often causes back ups and makes it impossible to get out even remotely timely. I've learned to just start parking further away to avoid this, but it's ALWAYS a mess. For what my 2 cents is worth, just take out the parking spots directly in front of the store and make this a second lane so that those not going through the drive through can get out and even those in the drive through. If the window is backed up, the entire place is. Cars are literally wrapped around to the window making it a never ending circle. If this is corrected, I'm happily coming back to correct my review to a 5 star almost immediately.. read more

I've gone to this location via their drive thru dozens of times over the past eight years and sadly it has steadily been going downhill. I don't think it's the employees' fault necessarily because I've noticed they are busier and busier with less and less help. It used to feel more personal but of late it feels more like a fast food drive thru. It's unfortunate because Starbucks is expensive and I expect the service to be better like it used to be. The corporate office needs to review it's business model. You can't keep raising prices, reducing your staff and expect people to keep coming back. I absolutely love this Starbucks, I've been ordering the same drink for roughly over fifteen years. Every time I come into this Starbucks my drink is made correctly & if something is a tad off, they always seem to fix it for me. I have hesitated in writing a review but it's absolutely time. This is the slowest, dumbest, most inconsistent Starbucks I've ever been to. I have yet to get an order that is 100% correct here. Let's be real there ARE some Starbucks orders out there that are seriously complicated, however mine isn't. The wait even if there isn't anyone in front of you is like 10 minutes. Today for example I came and got an ice hazelnut mocha no whipped cream. The girl made an iced hazelnut white mocha and couldn't remember if I wanted whipped cream. Then instead of handing me my drink she set it on the counter next to the window. The guy comes over and still doesn't hand me my drink. He's taking an order and apparently can't do both. I sat there looking at my drink for 5 minutes. Also the parking/drive through situation is idiotic. I've seen more wrecks here than in any other drive through. I can't wait for the coffee place in Ayrsley to open up because I'll be going there instead! read more

I travel to Charlotte a few times per month and stop in at this Starbucks location when I am in town. I am amazed what a difference a new manager can make. This prepubescent, witless tool is really making a difference. He identified himself as the "Store Manager", surely this feckless twit is shift manager or just left in charge while the real leader is in the bathroom or running to get supplies??? I waited over 30 minutes for my drink (run of the mill latte) and I was not alone, there was another gentleman who was also there that long. This "Manager" stood around and had a smile filled interaction through the headset with one of the young women fixing the food. I can tell him that he has no chance with her, but he'll find out soon enough when he looks around and finds himself in that, assuredly all to familiar, friend zone once again. When i ask who is in charge he takes no responsibility for ignoring the issue and gives me the "I'm sorry you had a bad experience" line, as if somehow it just happened. Own it, make it right and be accountable. This guy sucks as a leader, but i suppose when we start to reach full employment I need to dial back my expectations and realize that unqualified, weak, irresponsible individuals may be put in leadership positions that they are fundamentally unsuited for. read more
