This Starbucks is located off Kirker Pass and Clayton or where Ynacio Valley turns into Kirker Pass. It is somewhat busy even though the shopping area that it's in is a bit older. The drinks are standard for Starbucks. I particularly like the peppermint mocha. read more

WORST STARBUCKS I'VE EVER BEEN TO!!!! This place continues to absolutely blow me away with the most ridiculous excuse for service I've ever seen!! StIll have the slowest most unhappy person in the store making drinks while the others walk around doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to help their paying customers! Somehow in this store it's always more important to clean and chit chat amongst themselves while we all wait for our drinks than to assist the slow rude and incompetent barista. I really don't know why I even subject myself to this place and PAY to be treated so poorly!! In addition to the poor service and moving at a glacial pace... They don't even make my drink correctly 99% of the time. Would be nice given that it takes so long if the drink was at least correct!! Wish someone would actually manage this store and teach them how to follow the proper instructions on how to make the drink rather than find another way to cut corners! You're slow already!! The extra 15 seconds it takes to do it right isn't going to affect your wait any and at least you'd have a customers walk out part way happy! My advise.... Avoid this place at all costs!! I go there quite often. Both to indulge in my caffeine and sugar cravings, as well as to take in the pleasant atmosphere to read a book or work from my laptop. Everyone knows me. Very friendly staff. The only thing I'd like to see change is expansion. I don't see how there would be room to, but this store is often very packed and there is nowhere to sit. So, it's usually a shoe-in to go to Starbucks anywhere in the world and get consistent service and product. USUALLY. Somehow this little spot seems to get overwhelmed while they are making coffee. Crazy, right? I thought so to. I waited for almost 30 minutes for iced coffee my first visit here, and when I asked about the whereabouts of my simple drink, was not given my coffee or a sheepish "woops, sorry..." but an explanation about what it takes to make espresso drinks to-order for such a crowd of people. Thanks. I worked for the company for four years. I am sure because of personal experience it's not all that hard thanks to modern technology, but thanks all the same for the lecture. Me and the four people standing there just waited... then I just asked for a refund and went to the Starbucks kiosk inside of Safeway just yards away and I had my coffee and shopping done in 30 minutes. I normally do not go to this Starbucks because the service is always different then other stores. It is horrible, and today I was reminded of that. What is the purpose of mobile ordering, for me it is so I can run in and grab my drink and head out. Why did the little dude working there not have my drink on the counter? After waiting patiently for 7 minutes, 5 past when it was going to ready I had to finally inquire and he tells me "oh I have it back here". Why, I don't want to have to talk to anyone I just want to grab my drink and leave. This Starbucks is one of the best in all of concord. Everyone is really friendly and actually tries to make some for of connection with their customers. One barista especially stands out. I think her name is Ashley. She's always super sweet and takes the time to make sure you are satisfied with your service. She's really friendly too and will always ask about your day while she's making your drink and you're there waiting. I think more baristas like her are what the store needs to get my 5 stars but she excels at her job and gets 6 stars from me. read more

I don't come here often only to meet up with a friend for coffee. There's a lot of regulars here and I notice that I see them whenever I come here. I came in here the other night and it was weird... maybe they were having a chess tournament, but EVERY table had a chess game going on... I ordered it for the first time today thinking they gave it to you dry and honestly not knowing any better. You would think I had ruined her day when I said I wasn't aware they put water in it and I would drive extra careful. She said she would replace it but took the one full of hot water and locked it at the garbage can like it was a damn softball. Ahhhhhhh... The silver lining to needing to drop my son off at Clayton Valley Charter HS on a Sat. am at the ungodly hour of 7:45 is a slight detour to this wonderful Starbucks location! It's my second visit for the 'SAT Run', but I have been here a number of times. It is consistent: - Baristas are friendly, professional, and efficient! Today Shawna took my order and was wonderful. Just heard her ask for patience as she announced the register was down briefly. Not a single groan from any of the TEN people in line. (Including 3 kids and a lady with a baby.) Not an optimal situation at 8:30, but she is keeping customers informed! - It's clean! Tables, (indoor and out), chairs, and the bathroom have always looked nice. Bathroom was out of TP once. I told a barista and she went in immediately. No "I'll get it in a minute." "Thanks! I will take care of it." She walked in and handled it. - Friendly customers! I had a 'comfy chair' as it was offered to me by a gentleman who was leaving. (I was sitting on a wooden chair.) Met a father/son and their dog outside and we talked 'pets' for 10 min. There are now 15 people in line and no one looks stressed or disgruntled. Some are chatting with each other. Baristas are working like crazy and people keep coming in the door! - Only downside~ it is consistently busy (at least at this hour on a Saturday morning) AND it is too far from my home to visit on a daily basis! (I live nearly 10 miles away.) But any chance I get, I will be here... at the consistently friendly, clean, homey Clayton Station Starbucks! read more

When I worked in San Ramon I went to the Starbucks just off Crow Canyon by the See's Store. The staff knew my car (Honda S2000) and my favorite morning drink.By the time I got to the register my drink was waiting for me or they'd bring it to me in line. Well that is the best Starbucks' service I've encountered. Well this Starbucks on Kirker Pass is almost as exceptional. Any of the staff that have been working mornings on the weekends or Wednesdays for a month or more knows me and my favorite drink. My drink is started pretty much when I walk in the door. What is going on at the Clayton Station Starbucks? Way over crowded each morning and the store seems to be totally undecided as to arrange its furniture. Lately the call in orders have swamped the counter leaving those showing up to order waiting in long lines. This is by far the best Starbucks I have ever been to! The staff is professional, friendly, and welcoming. I come here regularly in the morning and it's always fun seeing everyone so cheerful. This is the Starbucks closest to my house. It's in a shopping mall, so expect shopping mall parking. It's a big parking lot, you'll never NOT be able to find parking. They did not receive 5 stars from me because every time I ordered in, instead of ordering on my phone, something went wrong. They were either SUPER slow making my drink (obviously excluding busy times from this), or they completely messed up my drink. Not a big deal, Starbucks employees are always nice, but if it's taking you a long time to make my drink because YOU won't stop talking, I'm not gunna be too happy. This Starbucks was very nice. It was very clean even though it was late in the afternoon. My drinks were made quick and they even added some extra chocolate sauce on top of them. They were also having a sale on some very cute mugs. The employees were very patient while I chose a few cups to take home. This is a great Starbucks and I will definitely be coming back. read more

BIG PROPS to the weekday 5am morning crew! Sarah and Hannah are always on the hustle and their drinks are spot on, every time. I've been to a lot of SBUXs from CA to NY, this is BY FAR the best one on soooo many levels. Parking is terrible at this location on the rare occasion I come in during the weekend, but at 5am, front parking is guaranteed and I can be in the door, out the door in under 5 mins! I used to frequent this Starbucks growing up in the area, then moved away for 6 years and have just returned. With a new, high stress position at work, mornings are not always my favorite. I'm always greeted warmly in the morning by the morning crew at this location. They know my order (not an easy feat), chat with me about my day, and I always leave feeling better about taking on whatever might happen that day. It might sound a bit corny, I know. When I move out of the area, I'm sure I'll still make trips over to Clayton just for the experience they create in the store. read more

Starbucks is Starbucks right? WRONG! I always hate it when baristas put my stevia sweetener last in my ice coffee and then it just sits there. The barista here did it right. She put it at the bottom, and then she stirred it to make sure that the stevia sweetener was totally dissolved and homogenous in my iced coffee. It's a win! read more

I went here today to get some beverages for my friends and I, and was satisfied with the way our drinks were made just to our liking. It took about 15 minutes for them to be made after we ordered, but they tasted perfect! The baristas were kind and apologetic for the wait. This is the best Starbucks in the Clayton/Concord area. I have ordered various coffees and other drinks and they have always been good. The staff are especially friendly and go out of their way to help you. If I have a choice I will usually pick this Starbucks vs. the other one on Clayton Rd. about a mile away. Definitely cheered up my day! The staff here are great. They're extremely attentive and make the best drinks! I usually like my coffee cold and Nick makes the best frapacinos. Every time I go here my drink is never watered down or has too much ice. Its always full and tastes delicious. Nick is really sweet and he goes the extra mile to make sure each customer is thoroughly satisfied. Nick is great and deserves some applause. Before Linda, I would go to Peets or drive down a ways to the Starbucks Linda used to manage because the staff was not friendly at this one. Now, it is my go-to Starbucks. I love her and her staff. The inside seems spacious, but the seating is not enough to accommodate everyone. This location is always filled with 50-yo/retired people taking up all the seats all the time - weekends as well as weekdays. Not a good place to go to study. Great if you're stopping by just to pick up a quick caffeine fix on your way to work. Staff is really nice here. read more
