Nothing screams picnic quite like an iced latte and panini pairing. I ordered the chicken pesto panini, apple chai kombucha, and a mushroom iced latte. This latte did loads for my social meter. Giving me the extra pep to talk all things books. The sandwich was stacked with thick pieces of avocado, jalapeños, and sliced chicken. A very filling meal that definitely caught everyone's eye. Would love to return and explore more of their food menu.

Since it was already afternoon, I wanted something decaf, so I asked if they roast their own decaf coffee. They told me that they roast everything themselves, which immediately gave me more confidence in the coffee. I ordered a flat white and sat down, but then I realized I had completely forgotten to say "iced." Sure enough, I saw the employee making a hot drink. Well... that's totally on me! Soon my coffee came out with a beautiful latte art on top. And then I took my first sip... Oh my goodness. This is GOOD coffee! There was a slight acidity at first, but as I kept drinking, the acidity faded and I was left with a smooth, nutty, creamy latte flavor. I personally prefer medium roasts over dark roasts, and this roast was exactly my kind of coffee. Now I'm suddenly very curious about their matcha, too. I also liked that the overall pricing wasn't too expensive. The Wi-Fi did seem a little slow at times, but it wasn't slow enough to really bother me. I come here often as I live around the corner. In the mornings, I like to sit here cause of the view. Staff in the AM are nice and welcoming. It's also a nice place to spend your afternoon. ON THE OTHER HAND, I'm very very disappointed with one of the staff here. He is a younger kid who looks like Jorma Taccone of The Lonely Island who makes THE WORST DRINKS. I've had this kid make my drink and it's been super weak. I'm f*cking pissed that I have spend $5 cause this kid is an idiot and too lazy to make a proper drink. Stopped by Starbucks on my way to work, hoping for a quick caffeine fix. The line was long, but I figured it would move fast. It didn't. Took about 15 minutes to get my caramel macchiato. Luckily, the drink was made just right--smooth, not too sweet, and still hot. The barista was friendly, but they seemed a little overwhelmed. This location has a drive-thru that one can use to pick up online orders. However, my tourist friend had ordered a drink and wanted me to walk inside to get water for them (and didn't want to do it personally because she wasn't familiar with the parking lot). It was also because they did not offer water on the app. Seeing as her drink was not done yet I tried to nonverbally indicate to a staff member that I needed attention but they seemed too busy, so I decided to wait at the pickup area for the drink. In doing so, a random customer tried to strike up vigorous conversation with me about my belongings, which startled me and made me even more mute than I wanted to be before I came inside. He effectively put words in my mouth by asking me if I understood English, but I couldn't do anything other than mutter quietly since this was not an interaction I was prepared for. After a short time the cashier finally asked me if I was waiting for something so I flashed the order on the phone to nonverbally dictate that I was waiting for an order. I finally calmed down enough to be able to verbally ask for water, and they said it was $0.25, so I didn't want that, so I decided to ask for an empty cup instead to go to the Grocery Outlet in the plaza to buy water, and they said "the cup itself is $0.25". I declined, seeing as that I knew how to origami a cup out of a piece of paper already. After this I went back to waiting, and during this, the customer that tried to strike up conversation with me said to his companion "he's faking it". The drink was prepared shortly afterwards, so I collected it and left to get away from him and not have to engage in further verbal interaction with anyone. As a result of this experience I have decided to avoid physically entering this branch and I will only use the drive thru when possible, as I do not want to encounter randos that force interaction on me or have to ask for something that is not available on the app and is not on the menu as a dictated upgrade. I would not recommend this location--or anywhere in Lake Forest for that matter-- for anyone introverted or with mutism from social anxiety, since randos talking to me for no good reason occurs too frequently in this area. I never get interacted with randomly in the Coffee Bean branch in Irvine and I would prefer an identical experience here.

My orders are ready quickly no matter when I place them using the mobile app. The inside of the store has numerous seating spaces. There are some tables outside one can also congregate with fellow gym goers and Pilates devotee. My problem with this store location is the actual drink quality itself. My drinks are either so overfilled to the point that once I stick the straw in, it turns into a fountain. One of the times that happened, the employees completely ignored me and kept talking about which line they really should be filling in the drinks to. No offers of napkins or anything to help clean up. Other times this happened, I ended up with a lid that busted open while en route to my car because the liquid got under the lid and the cup itself. That was a different kind of unnecessary mess. And it was entirely avoidable if the drink itself wasn't overfilled. The cups actually has a max fill line etched into it believe it or not. So if you fill in more or less past certain lines on the cups of anything, such as ice, milk, etc, the drinks won't taste right and/or it will create a mess. But the worst part? An unhappy customer with a coffee stained white linen pants and shirt. And that was me a few days ago. Anyway, the other half a dozen times I have ordered, the opposite happened as you can see in the picture. The drinks are nowhere near filled to the top fill line and the syrup never mixed all the way. So this causes the first 3-4 sips with intense flavors of the syrup and the rest of the drink as bland unflavored milk. So, as much as I appreciate the speed of order fulfillment and spacious interior seating inside and outside, I prefer to get my drinks elsewhere. And yes, that includes the god forsaken Starbucks down the street that's not any better drinks or service wise.

I think Peet's does tea and coffee very well. A friend of mine who is a connoisseur of all things good was with me. She ordered and enjoyed her holiday spice latte. I was attracted to Krispy Kreme for their limited time Pokemon donuts. They were so so cute and…read morenicely decorated. I bought a few and of course I was eyeing their Pokemon cups. Sadly they only had one cup left. Was hoping to collect a few more. Open ordering staff offered me a fresh warm donut on the house. What a way to start a conversation. I felt very welcomed. My donut holes in the cup didn't seem as fresh. Tasted stale but all other donuts were great. But on the bright side I did get my collectors cup.

Came recently for a few donuts and a box of donut holes. Was going to get 10 of those little dots but the gal behind the counter told me for $1 more, we can get 24 . So I got them 24 because I like to scrape off the thick layer if sugar and pop them in the microwave and they're so good.l and chewy. But yeah, 24 is way too many to eat. Just the smell of them only makes me feel like gaining 10 pounds. :)
