Oh Starbucks, you had me at Grande Blonde drip. First you took my lunch money, then you took my happy hour drinks. The deeper I get into this relationship, the longer I have to work for retirement! Ok enough with the drama... This store is my favorite because Augie is an angel. On the mornings when he's here, I don't need to say a word and he will already have grabbed the cup and made my special drink. I'm sure that there are baristas like Augie in other Starbucks stores. This is actually one of the better Starbucks I've been to! I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly and speedy service and the just-right amount of Classic in my sweetened green tea lemonade. There was a huge table in the middle where 4-5 people can sit at once and study! I sprawled out my books and laptop and wasn't in anyone's way! They even played great classical music that didn't distract me while I was studying! I believe listening to Debussy's "Arabesque" actually helped me memorize my notes even better! :) The only thing that sucks is there's no free wi-fi. I used to come to this starbucks before, it's a little out of the way for me but it's on the way to my job. I stopped coming only because I became a loyal customer of a starbucks closer to my job. Since leaving that job, I still go out of my way to go to this starbucks every morning, granted it add's time to my commute. The beta mobile ordering system has made my life worlds easier, it saves me 20 minutes a day and this particular location seems to have the smoothest system so far for it. No awkwardly having to come in and stare at the super busy barista asking if they can pass you your drink. Just walk right in out of the way of everyone else and grab your drink. Me being a huge introvert and claustrophobic in a crowd of humans , this is like off the charts for me. I make small talk with the staff, and though almost all of them know my name or are surprised when I order a different drink I regret the fact I don't know all of their names. I definitely will be better about that in the future, these folks take such great care of me amidst what most usual consumers have to say about most starbucks. I'm a self-professed Starbucks hater. I'm not a fan of their coffee and I think they are overpriced. I'd much rather spend my duckets on homey mom & pop coffee shops. Or even Coffee Bean (a local LA company). BUT..... And this is a big but. I somehow found the CINNAMON DULCE LATTE at Starbucks. I think it was meant to be a seasonal thing last fall...but they still have it. Even better, this particular SB location has the sugar free version. It is heaven in a cup...warm, spicy, sweet, caffeinated. I mean, it's such silk on my tongue. I can't get enough of it. It's hard to find the sugar free but I scoped it out and they have it here. Also, I cannot tell you how nice the employees at this SB are. So nice and sweet and smiley. You don't always get that from coffee places in general. So I put my loathing for STarbucks aside and I recommend this ONE Starbucks. read more

I ordered a pumpkin and cocoa cold brew with cold foam two days in a row. Both days it's been basic flat iced coffee, NO FOAM. I've ordered here before and it's never been an issue. I'm not sure why the baristas at this location suddenly can't make a cold foam drink. read more

While I realize this is a Starbucks, I've been going to this location since I was in high school, and didn't even drink coffee yet! All the employees that I've had encounters with are nice, and even the less-enthusiastic cashiers and baristas have been at least civil. I've heard horror stories from friends about local Starbucks baristas' crazy antics. There's none of that here, thank goodness. A lot of students and professionals spend time here, so while the seating is filled, coming in for something to- go will not usually be a hassle. My mobile order food was ready when I arrived but my beverage took another 20 minutes. People who walked in and ordered at the counter were getting their drinks before me. While I was waiting I saw about 5-7 drinks made incorrectly that had to be re-made. No one seemed to be making any effort to speed up the drink making process or make it more accurate. I live in S. Pas, and I'm sad to say that this Starbucks has one of the least friendliest staff all around. People working here are not pleasant, and they are outright unprofessional and discourteous. I ordered a sandwich, and I asked for it to get heated. Another person came and put it in the oven. As I waited in the "pickup" area, that person lays down two bags and calls our two different items. One of the items was my order, and so I approached the counter and asked if this one was the chicken sandwich (pointing to one of the bags). That staff, walking away, didn't even look back and answered yes. Really? I should've had her return to the counter, but I didn't want to waste my time. My message to Starbucks manager: Please teach some customer service and teach some manners to your staff! read more

My absolute favorite location. I always order a venti pink drink in my personal cup and I can sit outside and just relax, it's on the border of South Pasadena and LA, very sentimental location for me. The staff (as said in a previous review) is a hit or miss!! Most of the time I've came they are all very sweet but those are the long time employees! Very polite people & they work hard to get your beverage to you quickly. Other days I've had some employees give dirty looks or are just not as enthusiastic and polite when they converse. They are usually the newer people but I can totally understand that they just might be adjusting to the job. But nonetheless, I LOVE THIS LOCATION. read more

Ohmygod I absolutely detest this location. Parking is terrible since the lot is tiny, poorly designed and always crowded. The chairs and tables are tiny, cramped and sparse. But the main reason why I gave this place such a low rating is that the crowd that hangs out here is NOT friendly. I came here to do some work last week and all the tables were taken. I ended up sitting on the communal bar area since it was the only free seat. The girl across from me had to belongings spread out in a way so that I could only fit my drink on the counter. I asked if she minded making some space for me since that was the only seat available but she glared at me and said she couldn't. I understand the need for space, especially since she got there first. However, there were no other seats available in the store. I ended up taking my drink to go. I went to a different coffee shop to study and had to buy another drink. Service is friendly and the store seemed to be clean, so it's a shame that I don't feel like I can give this place more than 1 star. Sorry, Starbucks. read more

This Starbucks is so hit or miss on their drinks and service. The only constant here is how busy they really are. There are mornings where you could honestly be waiting 10-15 minutes for your drink and other mornings where there are no lines at all. I've been frequenting this Starbucks for almost 2 years now on a daily basis and there really has been no significant pattern. The morning service team here can be spectacular when there is a morning rush. They are able to keep a pretty good flow going and maintain a smile on their face. However; the afternoon staff can be a little rude at times. I've found myself having to greet them...when I'm the one who's buying the drink lol. Lastly, this Starbucks does not have a drive thru and parking can be a little difficult at times. This location is actually one of the busier Starbucks considering almost everyone on Huntington and Fair Oaks may go here. You may see people of all ages from teenagers ordering the most ridiculous custom drinks to your oldies ordering the usual pike. read more

I am never in a rush to give a review. Especially a review that is in bad favor. I am known for trying to understand situations before giving my input. I always want to make sure my critiques given are valid and reasonable. Sometimes we have bad days and it is understandable that your mood may be sour but never excusable. As a manager, if i see an employee of mine who isn't having a bad day i'd first speak to them about the situation to see if I could possibly better the situation or at least have the employee doing the least amount of work requiring them to be in front of customers/guest. Amanda, Starbucks Cashier, I said nothing in regard to your tone, slouching on the register, and the simple yet petty fact that you didn't even look at me when you greeted me. However, I expect more from this place... from Starbucks. Amanda I know it is rough and may come off as a struggle especially doing something you probably don't want to do in the first place BUT... you have to push through it. Do what it takes to come out on top. Give a smile! You have a great smile! Too bad only when turning away and talking to your peers was the only time I got to see it. Part of my wrestles with writing a good review for this place, but here's why... I like it. This place has everything I like in a Starbucks. 1) Windows. I don't like sitting in caves. 2) Parking. There's usually a space. If not, park around the corner 3) Tables. The worst thing ever is pulling into a Starbucks, taking your stuff to work out of the car, then walking in to find there are no available tables. 4) Humane temperatures. Great Starbucks location! So I had a meet up with some friends here. We talked outside my car for a while, I got in and as I was pulling out of the parking lot.. This barista with a cape on (I think it was a cape, could of been an apron) runs to my car and grabs my bible that I had left on top of my car while talking to my friends. Came here trying to find a drive through but they didn't have one unfortunately. Anyways location was nice, Barrista that attended me was very friendly, I believe her name was Ashley, and I was telling my friend that she looked like "Tracy McConnell" from the show how I met your mother, & wanted to approach her to see if she wanted to go out but any-who, she made & gave me my tea there after I paid, got the order wrong, but I didn't mind because I was just as focused on the small talk as she was lol, long story short: location is great, drinks are good, I hope to find her if I get a chance to go there again and ask her on a date, any Yelp is much appreciated!!! read more

Staff is friendly for the most part. Venue itself is clean. I always order a vanilla latte, which can be hit or miss depending on who's making my drink. Sometimes it's too sweet, sometimes too bitter, and more often just right. I come here to study, but only as a last resort...it's not as comfy as some of the other Starbucks, where there are plushy chairs and tables--there's just one long bar where a bunch of people can sit, a few small tables, and a large table where (again) you have to share space (and I'm a space hog.) Now I have lived in south pas really long, and I have been coming here since my middle school days, but unless you're a regular, you can't really get a feel of a good coffee shop. And this one is BY FAR the best starbucks (the sbux in wells fargo is also really good, but i like this one because it's bigger) I am there every morning for the rush. I have gone plenty of times between the times of 7-9am and even though there is maybe a 15 person line, I have never waited longer than 5 minutes. The baristas they have are amazing and they really have good chemistry with each other. If you are unsatisfied with your sbux, make the effort to come here. You will not regret it read more

Two times I ordered online and my order want there for over 30 minutes and keep in mind it was a work morning and I needed to get to work. Both times we told them and all they told was that the order didn't come in. They didn't even apologize or anything so I just had to leave.
