Matcha Latte

This location is one of my favorites! Mars and the staff are always so polite. Also I love how they often write on the cup, too! [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you need a good study spot, there's room inside and outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Welcome to STARBUCKS.

What can I say...it's STARBUCKS, a ubiquitous coffee franchise located between Las Tunas and Rosemead blvd. Staff were bloody competent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Outdoor and indoor seats were small.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall, they royally served me well.

It was my first time at this location and we came here after the gym from across the street. I ordered the blueberry sage refresher and it tastes just as expected. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There were a lot of people in the early morning waiting for their drinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was regular and there are people enjoying sitting down.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]very nice small place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] the workers are overall nice and polite though there are only one or two on average. [[HIGHLIGHT]]not like you could fit more than that in the tiny counter they have back there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] the drinks are regular overpriced starbucks drinks. my one big nitpick is that they don't support online orders. seriously? in this age of technology? this leaves them a bit empty of customers, except even when there's three other patrons, the drinks end up taking +5 minutes to come out and the line takes an extra 5!

One of my favorite drinks. Carmel Macchiato, extra hot, extra carmel drizzle

I was driving by on 09/03/24 at 9pm. Decided to stop by and get my favorite matcha latte there. I don't even know why I didn't get it at my usual location on San Gabriel where people working there are more caring. Not only it was 50c more expensive for the same drink, but also was not filed up to and a lot of space left for whatever reason at the top. I only realized it when I drove away. It was missing about 20% from the top. Kind of disappointing. Lesson learned- never will return here.

:: Drink :: Drinks are always made correctly here. :: Service :: I usually order via the app, but the employees are pretty nice when I pick up. :: Parking :: Parking can be hard to find sometimes since they share the lot with a bunch of other shops (TJ Maxx, Banana Bay, Daiso, Chipotle, Chase Bank, and much more).

Don't mobile order your breakfast sandwich. Because they will store your order near the sink and you will get a soggy mess of "sandwich".

The shop feels very nice and clean with a simple interior design. My top drink is probably the White Peach Oolong Milk Tea, which has an oolong tea base with floral notes and a kick of sweet white peach. I like how creamy and fragrant it is. At 50% sweetness, I feel like there is the perfect balance of sugar, tea, and milk. Another solid drink is the Oops Cheese Matcha Smash, which is easily one of their best sellers. This drink is creamy, rich, and indulgent. The layer of cheese foam deepens the flavor of the matcha, making it extra creamy with an enjoyable contrast. Aside from drinks, there are also some snack food options like popcorn chicken and fries. The savory snacks would pair perfectly alongside the sweet drinks. This is for sure a boba spot I would recommend.

It's tucked away so deep in the middle of nowhere that even the locals forget it exists. You will not stumble upon it -- you will summon it. But once you've completed your side quest and arrived, the popcorn chicken is legit. Like, "grandma-would-approve" legit. And the tea? Actually tasty enough to make you forget you're drinking it in what appears to be an abandoned shed. Service is... well, let's call it leisurely. As in, you might have time to write a novel between ordering and receiving your food. But honestly? If you're not in a rush and you've accepted your fate as a hermit in the wilderness, it's totally fine.

The café features a bright, modern interior, while the back seating area is decorated with an adorable space theme that adds a fun, whimsical touch. Although there was a short line when we arrived, it moved quickly, and the staff remained warm and attentive, taking the time to recommend different blends based on our preferences. **One Tea Signature Blend Milk Tea: 4/5** Customized with housecrafted jasmine tea jelly and 50% sweetness, the milk tea showcased a bold, tea-forward profile with smoky, nutty, and lightly caramelized aromas that added remarkable depth and complexity to each sip. The jasmine tea jelly was a standout addition, featuring a delightfully jiggly texture along with delicate floral notes and subtle sweetness that complemented the drink beautifully. However, it left a slightly bitter aftertaste that wasn't quite to my personal preference. One Tea distinguishes itself in the SGV boba scene through its commitment to quality and welcoming service. While this particular drink wasn't a perfect fit for my taste, I'm looking forward to returning to explore more of the menu.

Entrance can be made from the front or back. Shared community parking is available behind the shop. Street parking can be found. Please read the signages. What a cute and cozy shop! Amazing cool atmosphere with good airflow. Restrooms in the back. Plenty of tables and chairs plus bench seating in the back. Saw a lot of people with their laptops and a cup of coffee in hand. Seventeen flavors of ice cream available which is a lot more than I remembered when they first opened. Single scoop for $5. Double scoops for $8.50. Split for $0.75 (not exactly sure what this means). Extra $1 for waffe cone. They offer free samples. I tried a few flavors... Vanilla Lavender, Coconut Pandan, and Very Mango. Unfortunately, they were all very light for my taste. I prefer deeper flavors. I ended up getting double scoops... Young Coconut Ube and Japanese Okinawa Brown Sugar. I love coconut and ube in general. I didn't taste much of the coconut flavor. Ube stood out more with its smooth and intense flavor. Brown sugar wasn't super sweet. It had the perfect hint of sweetness. An amazing pair of flavors. SO DELECTABLY GOOD! I would get this combo again. Thanks Bro for the sweet treat! After an hour plus of enjoying our ice cream and chitchatting, we went for coffee and tea. Yes, we got the best of both worlds that day. I chose Affogato that came with Fika Expresso Blend and one scoop of Japanese Okinawa Brown Sugar. Expresso had a smooth and deep roasted flavor which I enjoyed very much. Each complemented the other so well. What a spectacular combo, however, it needed one more scoop of ice cream which I ended up getting... should have gotten two more scoops. Staff was super friendly and helpful plus very patient with our many sample requests. We may have tried all flavors between the 6 of us LOL. Thank you Landon (hope I spelled his name correctly) for the extra attention and service. We appreciate it. Unfortunately they have discontinued their weekday combo menu making it less worth the drive for us…read moreso we're not sure when we'll next be back. The good news is, their chicken steak is still just as yummy! We ordered: - Grilled chicken steak with black pepper sauce and spaghetti (4/5): Super crispy skin and juicy chicken. The black pepper sauce adds a fragrant touch - much better pairing than the mushroom sauce we got on a previous visit. The spaghetti portion is smaller than at most other HK cafes and isn't as good though. - Baked sole filet with rice and white sauce (3/5): Had high expectations for this dish but it didn't quite meet them. The rice used was plain white rice which isn't what I'm used to at other HK cafes and it left me a bit disappointed since it meant the dish was much more monotone in flavor and there were bites that were unflavorful. The fish itself was generously portioned and easy to eat with the warming cheese and white sauce combo. Wouldn't get again only because I know other spots that do it much better but decent overall. - Beef stew with noodle (3/5): Had expected this to be dry style with the beef stew over softened egg noodles but it came out as a soup. Beef pieces were tender and generous. Egg noodles were a bit overcooked. - Sticky Rice Dim Sum: They were massive and decent in flavor. They were a little mushy I think because it had been steaming a while (which was probably why they were quick to be served) but we didn't mind - Siumai: Generous amount of fish egg on top and was pleasantly meaty. We found parking in the front but also know there's a lot in the back. The restaurant itself is big and pretty empty and quiet. It reminded me of visiting Cafe Spot back in the day in Alhambra on Valley Blvd. We weren't too hungry, so we shared an order of fried chicken wings and a minced beef with egg over rice. Both dishes were tasty, and we even had leftovers from each. My osmanthus milk tea had a very light floral flavor, but for the price, I really can't complain. You can customize your drink, which I did with easy ice and half sugar. Since we came during off-hours, we were the only customers the entire time and basically had the place to ourselves. I'd definitely come back again!

What keeps me coming back, though, is the consistently friendly service and the outstanding quality of the drinks. **Wintermelon Green Tea with Boba: 5/5** This was an exceptionally well-balanced drink that showcased the best of both flavors. The wintermelon contributed a subtle smoky, caramelized sweetness with delicate sweet gourd notes, while the green tea balanced it beautifully with a floral, earthy finish that kept the drink light and refreshing. Soft and pleasantly chewy, the boba provided the perfect textural contrast to the fragrant tea. I also really appreciated how accommodating the staff was. They happily customized my drink by blending green tea with the wintermelon and even had me sample it beforehand to make sure the flavor was exactly what I was looking for.
