You've seen one bucks', you've seen em' all. Well this Starbucks certainly fits that profile. Just your average Starbucks with no bells and whistles, which honestly is not necessarily a bad thing. Even though this is one of many Starbucks within the city limits of 1000 Oaks, this particular location is really here to do one thing and one thing only... Serve that coffee and/or pastry and Go! Sure, before covid you would see those occasional students sit inside or outdoors in their patio section cramming for that exam, but nowadays it just seems like people want to get their cup of joe and boogie. This location seems to mainly serve the locals of the community and maybe those who are passing through town gassing up next door. Staff here have always been pleasant towards me and just seem to be doin their thing to get orders out as quickly and efficiently as possible. Thank you team Starbucks at Janns & Moorpark Rd.

First visit to this location. Somehow fitting that my 400th review is for a Starbucks. The other night, I was running errands for an event that I was doing the decorations for, and needed a break. After gassing up at USA, popped in to the java joint. So pleasant to be greeted as I stepped through the door. The employees were cleaning, yet still attentive to guests. The batista made my drink perfectly, too. While not a huge location, there is some elbow room here. I sat for a few minutes and caught up on check-ins, while enjoying the tunes they were playing. Nice respite in my busy evening. Took my beverage out in to the night to sip while touring local homes and their festive holiday lights on the way home. Thank you for the great experience.

Much to my surprise, it was about as lively as I had remembered it. The Alley was established during Covid times and offered a retreat to escape from the humdrum of the homestead. These days, its friendly vibe welcomes neighbors and visitors with a backyard setting strewn with twinkle lights and family-style tables. It's a causal scene and easy to soak in the live music, sunlight/moonlight, and neighborly banter. The layout resembles an alley with shops on either side, big open doors invite you to grab something to eat, sample a drink, or shop for handmade gifts. On one side, you've got craft brews and coffee roasters. On the other side, it's local wines and piping hot pizzas. Dogs are welcome all around. At the center of it all, there's live music on the weekends. Modeled after a Beer & Wine Garden concept, The Alley features Enegren Brewery (beer), Lucas Sellers (wine), California Coffee Republic (java), Fire & Vice (pizza), and The Craft House (non-alcoholic tchotchkes). As a self-proclaimed wino, I opted for a sampling of the Lucas Sellers Wines. Ashley, who was behind the bar and top of the pours, gave me good suggestions and offered anecdotes about each wine on tap. At the end of the night, my light pinot paired perfectly with the Mushroom Arugula pizza from Fire & Vice. And I felt right at home, surrounded by friends.

I ordered an iced café latte mocha--half white chocolate, half mocha--and from the very first sip, the coffee just spoke. It was incredibly smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. On top of that, the service was super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Small and cozy, cute cottage-core hedgehog figurines with mushrooms adorn the entrance table where all things hedgehog are displayed. It's the small touches here that show what thought was put into this place; like fresh strawberry mint water (or other fruit water offered) and always soft French jazz bossanova playing in the background. The service is amazing, despite never seeming to have a lull- there's always a good stream of people at any hr of the day filtering in. So let's get to the food. My family has been multiple times now, and Every pastry was a sheer delight. Not too sweet! Just right.
