If you want to feel unwelcome and not be bothered with at all with even a hello, this is THE location to get your morning coffee. I grew up in Walnut and was excited when they first turned the old Burger King to a Starbucks closer to home. It used to be so nice here when everything was so clean and the friendly baristas were happy to be working. This was one of my favorite Starbucks. I then moved to Arcadia and stopped coming here for a few years. Not sure what happened but when I had to temporarily move back to Walnut for one month and visited this location, everything seemed to have gone downhill. No one greets you here. Heck, you have to thank THEM for taking your order. I thought they didn't like me but then I noticed they treat ALL other customers the same way. The baristas seems pissed off all day, every day. I once showed up for my daily coffee and noticed a huge spill at the front entrance. It was so bad that another customer had almost slipped on her way out. As a past business owner, I know what a huge liability for the company if anyone slips and gets injured, so I went inside and tried to tell someone working behind the counter - two of them pretended not to hear me, and when one finally responded, she seemed super upset that she had to go mop the floor. Wow. Another incident was when I showed up on the day they were giving out the complimentary Red cup for the start of the holiday season. I'm a daily Starbucks drinker and have been since I was 19 in the 90s so my goal that morning was to just grab my coffee - not for the cup. I placed my mobile order for self pick but as I was approaching the counter, a female barista rudely told me "We are having a promotion today and your drink may take a while so if you don't want to wait, I can give you a refund." No hello, no apologies, just straight out didn't want my business even though I did not even complain as I had just got there and not knowing at the time they were having a promotion until she told me. This place really sucks. I've been to Starbucks all over different cities for the past 20+ years and this is the only one I really dislike. If you are unhappy, don't be in customer service where you are the FIRST face most people may see. You may ruin the rest of their day. I'm so glad I no longer live in Walnut and pretty much waited until after I moved to post this review as I will not be going back there EVER. read more

This Starbucks is easily the best in Walnut. Every time I order drinks for my morning commute they make them exceptional. I mobile order and the drinks are always ready when I get there about 10 minutes out. The drinks look fresh when I pick them up and the staff is very nice when they greet me. They have a nice inside and the drive thru is never too long of a wait. It's a great location that makes it easy to get in and out of the parking lot. I use to work at Starbucks and know what goes into making a good drink with the correct ingredients, I never had an issue with this Starbucks making the wrong drink or forgetting an ingredient. That's why this is my go to Starbucks location! read more

Still my favorite Starbucks. Now I'm into the Dragonfruit or Pineapple lemonade refreshers after a 3.5 mile hike in Walnut. Lots of seating inside and out but occasionally it's super crowded because Mt SAC students come here to study. The service is always friendly and fast. I appreciate that the bathroom is unlocked during the day unlike some other Starbucks that require a key or code. No music on today, which is unusual but there's always the low rumble of conversations going on. I like to read here while enjoying my beverage, so as long as it's not too loud, it's great. read more

The worst customer service ever! Yes, they're busy. It's STARBUCKS. Yes, it's early. You serve coffee and breakfast. It's STARBUCKS. Do I expect a bit of hospitality and courtesy? Yes--it's STARBUCKS! Four people working. One with her headset working the drive through window AND making orders. Two just puttering around looking lost. One--looked like a manager, was sweeping. I was the only one at the register. Despite all of them walking by, no one greeted me or even acknowledged I was there. No, "we'll be right with you." No, "good morning." When Deanna (sorry if I spelled it wrong--no name tag) finally stood in front of me at the register, she finally says, "Your order?" Trying to make a point and maybe evoke some humanness from her, I speak up with, "Good Morning." Deanna doesn't smile. She doesn't even say good morning back to me. She just repeats, "your order?" I refuse to let this kid who is now making $20 an hour forego the very minimal greeting for anyone--barista or not, the opportunity to greet someone properly. I again say, "good morning." She finally recognizes what I'm trying to do and replies with the most unfriendly and curt, "good morning-your order?" As she glanced at the other boy working behind the counter who also has not greeted me or feigned any effort to help the person frantically working the window by herself. After I place my order, Deanna walks away. No "thank you". No "would you like a receipt?" Heck! I would have settled for, "Receipt?" She then proceeded to whisper to the other kid who so very discreetly whips his head around to look at me. Then, another customer comes in. She's surprised that her order is two dollars more than two days ago. As she's expressing her surprise, Deanna talks over her ignoring the customer's questions and repeats the total so as to receive payment. Just wow. Starbucks has the free coffee cup today, and the store is full pack. Very efficient and organized. I'm able to get my order in 15 minutes. Do not use the drive-thru, park, and order inside the store to prevent traffic on the street; simultaneously, you will get your order much faster. read more

Terrible service! No greetings unlike most Starbucks I go to. Try to give me a grande when I paid for a Trenta. Looked at me as I was as lying to get a bigger size. I've been a long-time customer at this specific Starbucks for as long as I can remember. Recently, new baristas have been hired and have been making these drinks horribly. What is with the lack of milk in my drink? An entire inch off of milk? This has happened multiple times and does not only occur with the iced shaken espressos. A couple days ago, my mother ordered a venti iced matcha latte that was also not filled up. This is the last straw. I am sick of recieving drinks that are poorly made. The staff here are really friendly and the service was quick. Restrooms are clean and there is a lot of seating and a decent amount of charging outlets which makes it a wonderful place to study. The Christmas decor is a nice and really gets you into the festive spirit! I ordered a venti iced espresso with oat milk and some sugar free vanilla syrup and it was delicious! The price point was fair as well. The only problem I had was the overwhelming amount of whip cream added but otherwise I had a really enjoyable experience and will be returning. read more

Woah this Starbucks Is huge! So spacious. It even has a big patio. Lots of room for those beautiful California sunny days. You can't beat their outdoor seating with cute string lights. The inside is very modern. Even looks like a gallery to a museum. It's very clean!!!! Even the service area where you add toppings to your coffee it's so organized. If you don't want to get out of your car there's a drive thru. #convenient. It's also tucked in the back corner of this little mall parking lot. This Starbucks location deserves more than five stars and I am so grateful it is located close to my work! They are located in the heart of a busy shopping center but the drive-through is easy to enter and exit. Every barista I've encountered here has been extremely friendly and is always asking how my day is going, if I'm working that day, etc. I've never had an issue with my drink orders and they are always well-stocked with their pastries and food items. I will definitely continue to return here and recommend this location to anyone seeking good coffee in this area. read more

9/22/21 @ 8am Poor customer service and very unorganized at this location. We made a mobile order for pickup at the drive thru. Arrived at the drive thru and the cashier says they don't have our order and insists that we are at the wrong location. We repeat the name on the order multiple times. We even show him the order on the phone and that we are indeed at the correct location. He barely takes a glance and clearly didnt want to help us with our order. He then tells us to come into the store and get a refund because we're at the "wrong" location. We go in and guess what? THEY ALREADY HAD OUR ORDER READY. SO, convenient. Very near Mt. SAC, any person that has lived in the Walnut area know that this used to be a Burger King for the longest time. Now that they're a Starbucks with a drive-thru (the ones on Grand don't have drive-thrus!), it's made things super convenient for hubby and I to grab a drink or two (probably for me) before we see his parents. They are still a bit new, so wait times can sometimes be a little longer than other seasoned Starbucks. Drinks have been made correctly and as requested, so I don't have any real complaints yet. I tried the sous vide egg bites the other day. They ran out of containers, so they had to put it in an oatmeal container. They apologized for the inconvenience, which I thought was cute. The egg bites were going to go straight into my belly, so I didn't completely care on what container it was in as long as I wasn't going to burn myself! Happy happy. read more

This brand new Starbucks recently opened on Friday, June 14, 2019, with a banner stating "NOW OPEN." For a few weeks/months since the construction fences went up around this former Burger King location, it got all of us curious as to what would be the future of this establishment. With each passing day when I would pass by, I would see new additions to the building. Then one day, the name "Starbucks" and "Drive-Thru" were affixed to the side of the building! My coworkers were right! Somehow they had gotten wind that it would be a Starbucks. Many years ago, the Yoshinoya in the other corner of this plaza was a Starbucks as well, with no drive-thru, until it closed down and moved to the location at Grand and Valley. Usually I do not tend to visit establishments within the first few weeks that they are open as they are trying to work out some kinks but yesterday's visit was very pleasant! The Starbucks app was offering Happy Hour and I was closer to this location than to the one on Grand and Valley. Parking turned out to be okay for the late afternoon. Parked, went in, ordered, received my drinks, and was out within minutes. I was surprised at the professionalism and the quickness with which my drinks were made. They even spelled my name right, without me spelling it for them! It's a rarity for anyone to spell my name right, but lest I digress. The very spacious interior is so shiny and new. I have a feeling that many may not know this location is open yet, so I will cherish the "emptiness" and the "newness" for now. For parking, this plaza tends to get packed during lunch time due to the businesses down the street and also from the students from nearby Mt. SAC and possibly Cal Poly (but they have their own Starbucks down the street). Overall, I feel and hope that this Starbucks thrives as it is conveniently located. read more

So as a Walnut local its funny how they opened another Starbucks since we already have two in the city. Another funny thing is the Yoshinoya around the corner was a Starbucks but it closed down. This one used to he a Burger King until it was made into a Starbucks. The other two Starbucks are great though, but this has what both needed: more space and a longer drive thru. Overall this location is clean, organized, and spacious. I wish it had opened when I was attending Mt. SAC and CPP, cuz it would have came in clutch for those late night study spots. My only wish is that it could be like the other Starbucks near colleges for it to be open til midnight or later. read more

This is a brand new Starbucks in my neighborhood. Lots of places to sit inside and a nice little gated off patio outside. Plenty of parking too since it's in a strip mall. I've been here before but didnt YELP it. The baristas are really helpful and friendly. I asked what the difference was on certain drinks because let's face it... sometimes it's a little intimidating when you hear what other people order. Today got the BOGO - I had the iced white chocolate mocha and my daughter for the iced caramel cloud macchiato as my free drink. Mine was delicious!!! Asked for 2 extra pumps of sweetener. Be aware, they close at least 30 minutes before scheduled... they absolutely refuse to take an order after 8pm, even though they say that they close at 9pm (posted on the drive thru window and front door). This is like the 10th time I've been here at around 30 min to 1 hour before closing and we have a line around the building in the drive-thru but I guess the manager doesn't want our money? Fk this moron of a manager, deserves to be fired. If you want to take the night off an hour early every single night then you should resign and allow somebody more ambitious and useful to run it properly. Furthermore, even if you come mid day, expect at least a 10 to 15 minute wait for a black iced coffee. Everyone who works here seems to be taking a lunch break between every order. Long story short: never come here if you're in any type of hurry and definitely don't come here if the sun is down, because these guys go home early every night. OMG!!! The young men at this location have the best customer service. They are so outgoing and friendly. I usually drive-thru. The young ladies on the other hand.......NOT!!! Attitude and just really not there for the customer. My adult son and I ordered drinks at the drive-thru and we did change one latte from cold to hot. When we got to the window to pick up our drinks we received a cold latte instead of the hot one. OMG!!! The girl was so confused and seemed annoyed with us. Thankfully a young man came and started chatting and apologizing. He had our hot drink made and offered us the cold one free of charge since we already touched it. We accepted and were so thankful. Well here comes Miss "Shift-Leader". She was not having it. She made sure to correct him and tell him what he did wrong. All this in front of us. The young man was so gracious and took the criticism well. He handled the situation way better than I would've.
