The service was slow and the food was awful. I do not however blame this on the workers. There were maybe 4 people working their butts off to get the food ready and served. Worst customer service ever. I asked for my refund after waiting for so long. They said it's finishing up with it and that it was ready. After I left with my food through the drive through I knew something wasn't right, when my bag was scrunched up like she was hiding something. Here is the thing. This place is a good place. The food is average, nice atmosphere, not bad. HOWEVER! There is a major problem with the staff. They confuse orders, and the wait time is a very long. It took me 20 minutes to get a shake in the drive thru. That was alone! With cars: about 30-45 minutes. Staff needs to either be replaced or trained well. read more

Our first visit to a Steak 'n Shake, and not disappointed. Yeah, it's fast food, but it tasted good! French fries were cooked well, as was my double-cheeseburger. My dining partner enjoyed his "original" cheeseburger too. We both had a chocolate shake, first I've had in a couple of decades. Last, I thought the service was good. Earnest was great! Poor guys was the only one working! We watched people walk out because they never even got seated! Food took forever but was good. Not only was Earnest waiting tables he was cooking too! They should be lucky to have him! There were dirty tables that stayed dirty from the time we got there till we left. I never had a problem with this Steak n Shake or any other location before. We went last night to dine in. Walking in, there were only 2 other couples inside. We were taken care of right away. Our food even came out pretty quickly & freshly made. But the other ppl were still waiting for their food. The food was good although we never received the Fresco sauce that we asked for or refill on our drinks. While waiting to pay, i noticed the kitchen was disgustingly dirty. My family and I have visited this place many times before but I must say the last couple times has been very pleasant. I came through the drive thru about 3 weeks ago on lunch break so of course I was in a hurry and out of all days my order wasn't correct but Mrs. Wadiyah Spruill jumped to the rescue. She fixed everything. She was so calm and nice she changed my whole vibe from negative to positive. She assured me that she will make it all better and she did just that. Well tonight I decided to dine in with my family and guess who was on duty "Wadiyah" and she remembered My face and out of all things crazy she also remembered exactly how I like my burgers & shakes. This is the worst place you could ever go. Wish I could leave a zero star. My school has better steak and they don't even cook steak.They took 15 minutes to "cook" our food. My friends burger bun was cold as if they forgot to toast it, he never even got the water he ordered until we asked the waiter for it again. The soda was so full of ice that there was barely any soda. My other friends burger came with everything on it even though she only asked for bacon and cheese. They gave her lettuce and tomato and onions and much more. The cookies and cream milkshake she ordered had next to no cookies in it. Overall just horrible service and horrible food. I came here yesterday, through the drive-through, and picked up breakfast, for my pup and I. It was absolutely delicious, like a homemade breakfast I would make at home. I ordered an ice water, and orange juice and ice, two bagels with egg cheese and bacon, and it came with two orders of hashbrowns, and again absolutely delicious not like your other fast food breakfasts that are good but this was superb, and I will be back. I went here with a friend of mine on a weekend around 7 PM in the evening I ordered a single burger with french fries and a Coke. I was there for about an hour when we left I started feeling sick I was throwing up on the way home and going to the bathroom at the same time I had to pull over on the side of the road I got out and could not stop throwing up I was sick for 24 hours I went to the doctor and the doctor told me I had food poisoning I heard from a coworker of mine that the meet is no good and got him sick to add a different location I wish I had known before I ate there I will never go back. read more

If I didn't like steak 'n Shake food so much and it was so late that everything else was closed I would've told her to just shove it. But a girls got to eat... So, I proceeded with my order and she spit out the total. She didn't say thank you your total is blank please pull around, she just told me my total. When I got to the window, she repeated my total. There is no hello or anything like that, just the title. I handed her my money and when she handed me my change she didn't even say a word. But here you go, kiss my ass or anything. Just handed me the money. And when she handed me my food same thing. No words exchanged know thank you have a good night or thank you come again. Nothing. As a matter of fact, I wish I can give zero stars and I'm going to take back one of the two I gave. Thank you, have a great night. AND I FOT HOME AND MY ORDER WAS WRONG!!! I don't know why but most Steak 'n Shake restaurants that we go to are super slow. Is management not getting paid enough? When we came here for a late night dinner after visiting the Fort Lauderdale Auto Show and we have to say even though it was slow service, the food was great and the waiter was prompt and on the dime. Right after we walked in we knew the service was going to be slow. Why? There were only two waiters serving the whole floor (one guy and one girl). For the waiter, we got the guy... straight off the bat he told us that it will take some time and service is slow because they only had two waiters. 2 - 5 minutes later the waiter came back with our drinks, I didn't drink my Sprite yet because I wasn't that thirsty (this fits in the story). Maybe around another 5 or so minutes later, he came back around he gave me a new Sprite... at this point I was confused. But he said their where people complaining that it tasted funny, so I tasted it and yup, oddly enough it tasted like straight water... my taste buds where truly tricked at this point. Good thing is that the new Sprite tasted like Sprite or else it was their machine that was messed up. Not many restaurants that you go to will switch your drink out within minutes probably due to that fact that the waiter probably manages more tables. In total, it took around 15 - 20 minutes just to get the food, it could also be that this Steak 'n Shake restaurant has a drive thru and that's where people get served first. After waiting, we got our food and it was great. Even though the food service was super slow from the point when we ordered to the point where we got our food on the table, the waiter service was great and the food brought the review score up a lot. read more

My wife and I had a bad experience at the Boynton Beach store, and it was not the least bit busy. First it took a long time to get our beverages. There was a table near us with four customers. They ordered after us but got their food first. After another long wait for our food it finally appeared in the window. Then it sat there for another long wait. One of Top 5 Worst Customer Service Experiences of my life. Arrived at drive-through at 8:10 to simply order two chocolate shakes. Left at 8:41 with one bad chocolate another which had a brownish color and no distinguishable taste - I thought it might have been banana. Cups were sticky. First order delivered one bad chocolate and an orange, and acted like it was my mistake. No apology. Sat and waited 10 minutes while the server delivered shakes to the car behind me and stood outside talking to another car for five minutes. Manager said lots of people were ordering shakes - and that was a surprise? Lost all my religion from having come from choir practice! If you've never been to a Steak 'n Shake before, they sell great steak cheeseburgers and milkshakes, as well as hot sandwiches and salads. It's great chain restaurant food, slower than fast food but better. This location is a good example of the chain, and I have no complaints. read more

I've been coming here for many years. Over time this place has gotten worse and worse. The parking lot is always strewn with garbage. Not a great first impression, especially when it takes away your appetite. The managers are totally lacking in social and management skills. Some of the managers are downright hostile to customers. The only saving grace has been one of the morning waitresses, Lisa. She always had a smile on her face and knew everyone by name. Now that she's gone I won't bother coming back. read more

This Steak & shk was the worst one I've been in so far. They chgd 3.70 for 3.99 fish sandwich, I had a .50 off coupon, why did I pay .21 extra? There was no receipt for purchase showing price only "order 555607, 3:51pm, seat1, 1 fish sandwich/ff, item count 2" Service was very slow & the fish was good but the lettuce was totally mush and the bun was so soggy I had to throw it out. A black lady waited on us named Tiarra. She ignored us for about 8-minutes while she was eating in the waitress area then was so rude to us none of us will EVER be back. I asked for the manager and she said she was the manager and there was nothing we could do about complaining because she said, "I be the best daay gots and I aints goings noplace."
