The food was good. The prices were great! The hamburgers and shakes were delicious. The service very little interaction as now you self order from the Kiosk and they call you to pick up your order. Don't throw away your receipts ad for drink and refills you need to scan your receipts to get the soda machines to work which they don't most of the time and you have to wait for some assistance from the staff if any available. overall its still good for a quick bit and milkshakes are still one of the best. I haven't been to a Steak 'n Shake for years and although it's far from gourmet dining it's a really good inexpensive meal. A friend of mine used to say it was great hangover food! At this location they no longer have table service, I'm not sure if that's how all Steak 'n Shakes are now. You order at a kiosk then they call you up to the counter when your food is ready. If you order a fountain drink they give you a QR code with your receipt that you use to get your drink. The shakes here are always good, today I got a child size egg nog shake and it was the perfect size and tasted great! The burgers and fries with cheese on the side were really good also. Three of us had meals with drinks plus my milk shake and it was only around $31 dollars! They place was very clean and the few staff were interacted with were very friendly. read more

So let me start with the positives: the service was fast, the staff is nice and the food is delicious. The restaurant itself was not very clean, especially the bathroom. There was no soap, tissue and 2/3 bathroom stalls were clogged up. The tables were dirty, even though the place was almost empty. It's been a long time since I've come to this location & I was glad to see not much has changed as far as the food goes. They still offer some really good meal deals, with a double cheeseburger, fries & drink being around $7. You get a very good portion size as well. The burgers have that classic smash-burger style to them while maintaining their juiciness. Their shoe string fries are some of the all-time best fast food fries in my opinion. One of my favorite things about coming here is getting the cheese sauce on the side & smothering them with it. The sauce goes great on the burger also. There's no such thing as too much cheese! Instead of talking to a person, you now order your food at a kiosk. You're given a receipt & QR code to scan (if you order a fountain drink). When your food is ready they'll call your name/number & you pick up your food by the kitchen. No more servers, but there were a couple employees floating around cleaning up tables. I don't mind this as long as the dining room is kept clean, which it was. My visit here was good which I was happy about because I used to love this place. I have been here several times over the years, but only now I am appreciative of the quality burgers they serve. The prices & quality are good, especially if you are a fan of 5 guys burgers. Some notable difference are that 5 guys have some of the of the best French fries skin on & meaty cut, and cooked in peanut oil. While S&S has potato stick style FF cooked in Beef Tallow. Service is the biggest difference S&S seems always understaffed thus service is very slow, while 5G service is decent. Both locations have a pleasant diner ambiance. Ordering is from kiosks only and some things are not very self-explanatory and somewhat disorganized. Another patron was there at the same time as me and he was also confused about his order or ordering. I ordered chili three ways and it wasn't the way I remembered it being at Steak 'n Shake years ago. This seemed to be kind of like Chef Boyardee quality out of a can, and it was in a little plastic container. Maybe a burger would've been better. My husband and I were excited to get Steak n Shake since it's been YEARS since we've both have had it. Man, has this company changed. The burgers just aren't as good anymore. Where are the grilled onions or the dripping cheese? It's just a quick and expensive chain, it doesn't stand apart from the others now. There's no customization like it used to be. I ordered two cheeseburgers and one shake for us. The cashier thought "just the sandwiches (no combo)" meant plain burgers which resulted in a lackluster dinner and a waste of money. The Nutella shake was good but I was super disappointed in this experience overall. Not to mention, the cashier asked if I wanted ketchup in the bag and said I yes. To my surprise, there were no napkins in the bag or ketchup packets. My husband couldn't even finish his garlic cheeseburger because the bun was doused in salt. Haven't been to Steak 'n Shake in years stopped by as I was craving a milkshake. The drive thru did not provide receipt, I had to run inside to get a copy. After driving off and excited for my shake, it caught me off guard how Disgusting it was. The milk or another ingredient was definitely expired - all three milkshakes tasted horrible I had to trash them. One of the milkshakes were incorrect as they provided strawberry instead of vanilla which I ordered for my sister who is allergic to strawberries! The m&m milkshake literally had about five m&m on top of a vanilla shake. Inside has no cashiers only computers to place your orders. Will never go back again and do not recommend it. read more

I feel that the worker felt confident bullying me into leaving because I probably wouldn't cause a scene or put up a fight. I guess she was right because I left hungry. She didn't ask the other patrons at the other kiosks to leave, and I saw them through the window, still ordering as I drove away. I feel quite disappointed and disgusted by this treatment. Maybe the employee is tired of her fast food job, but she bullied a hungry customer away who was already at a kiosk about to finish ordering. read more

Steak 'n Shake is a rare treat for me. On one of my after work food adventures I decided to head to Steak 'n Shake because I was near that area and my craving for the was at an all time high. I was determined to go since I was thinking about it the entire time I was working. And I got to the establishment I went straight into the drive and placed my order for the Original Double Steak burger with cheese. Instead of the raw onions that came on the burger I asked them to grill them for me (I don't do raw onions). I got the combo with their fresh crispy shoe string fries which were pretty tasty. I asked for the seasoning packs so that I could give my fries extra flavor but they forgot it all together, tragic! I'll check my bag before leaving next time. Anyhoooooo, the food is always a hit every single time that I go, it's not often that I go since the locations are far from me but nonetheless the food is A1. My burger was delicious, the grilled onions were just the added touch to make it own. I have no clue when I'll be back but I will be back! From the looks of the establishment I'll assume that the restaurant is well kept, I have never been inside any Steak 'n Shake build but next time I'll head inside and experience what it's like. Steak n Shake is hit or miss. This visit was not too bad. I decided to order food to go because almost every table was taken in the restaurant and the drive thru was starting to line up. The manager was at the register taking my order and was very patient and friendly. I was waiting for my husband and brother to give me their new order via phone because a they no longer had an item on the menu. The manager was very patient and told me not to worry. He actually stated "well it's better to get the right thing instead of him being upset". I laughed and said I'm the more fussy one. We were just finishing the order and my guys walk in. The manager joked and said is this the guy giving you a hard time? It was probably the nicest interaction I ever had at a Steak n Shake. We waited about 20-25 minutes for our order to be complete. They forgot a couple things and the manager saved the day again. There have been less times than more good experiences. It was a holiday and it seems those are the busiest days and nights to go. read more

Drive thru is terrible. They rush you through and dont give you all the food items in your order. I make sure to be clear when i order and repeat it to the cashier at the window so i get what I asked for. On multiple occasions Ive had to pull into a parking spot and go inside to ask for my missing items or I find out once im far from there and home, that the items are not there. Skip the drive thru. You have to order inside and make sure you get what you ordered and paid for. The employees are not thorough, even if they assure you that you will get what you ordered. I was assured by Veshay that my order would be correct. She was in such a rush that she spilled one of the drinks on me and told me to pull up to wait for my order. I did so hesitantly feeling my order would be incomplete. It was, once again. I really enjoy steak n shake and i thought this location was pretty good but if its such a hassle to get my order correct and get what I paid for then I can probably go somewhere else where the food is ok but the service is better. read more

These guys definitely moved from 2 stars to 3 with the elimination of table service and a do it yourself ordering and bussing system. I was able to place my order at a self serve kiosk immediately without the normally excruciating wait for a server to take my order and then longer for her to bring it. The kitchen was fast and accurate. I got a double steak burger and bacon. As compared to the same from Freddy's Frozen Custard in Orlando, the meat was absolutely flavorless. Such a shame as both meals were about the same price. However the shoe string fries were perfect and probably the best fries in the fast food space. Oh and if I'm going to serve myself, please eliminate the prominent request for a tip (excluding management.). A tip is not an entitlement. The S n S model is identical to McDonald's and who tips at McDonalds? Unfortunately, my experience on a Saturday night just speaks to the further desperate attempts to save this brand. read more

First steak and shake review so let's begin pulling in the lights on the logos board some are out there's only 2 people in the drive through so not too bad we arrived at 7:39 PM just got back from church I got the number 1 the original double steak burger with cheese and a coke the meal it looks pretty good there's a lot of burgers on there so hard to choose the person who came with me got the same thing totals 16.66 placed our order at 7:40 still waiting as of 7:45 got our food at 7:46 yay got our drinks first just got the food at 7:51 smells great everything in the bag coke is good just regular taste nothing different just got home time to eat the fries they are abit cold but warm at the same time not too salty or oily flavor just in the middle almost but TOO SMALL and not enough the roof of the burger box is covered in grease which cost me 2 paper towels the burger looks good time to try pickles onions cheese 2 patty's biting in you immediately get the mustard then onion taste then cheese melted feeling then the patty it's all a sequence of tastes it's not bad maybe a little dry when it comes to the patty but overall a good enjoyable moist bite there's mustard and ketchup on it as well the meat itself almost taste like smoked style but greasy it's a unique taste that reminds me of ground beef as a kid it goes really well with the pickles provides moisture in every bite I love this burger so much I'd eat it which a bowl of ketchup (or chick fil a sauce) maybe could use more mustard but on the bottom patty but overall a well balanced burger with a soothing gracious bite also it's wrapped in paper wrapping which is weird cause the amount of grease but whatever the burger does appear to be a little small so I'm still hungry after eating it but now I'm finishing off the poor fries I googled it and it says steak and shake fries there food in soy bean oil which is different and the fries have that unique taste too it I just realized that I would definitely try Steak n Shake again imma end this review right here hope you all have a great day (I'm still hungry!!) My daughter and I went to Steak 'n Shake to get a burger, I walked in and was the only one one in the store as there was no one in the store or in the drive thru I was waiting and no one came to the take out counter and had to call to the back for the workers to acknowledge my order and me. When we got home and my daughter opened her burger it was completely burnt as you can see in the photo, the patty itself was burnt as well.
