The restaurant is always a mess , what does that tell you about the kitchen ? . The staff is lazy and slow. The food is disgusting , and my chilli cheese fries were heated on what appears to be the stove because the plastic was melted and fries coming through , yeah thanks for that. I've been coming to Steak 'n Shake since I was a teen. Never dawned on me to review it. I mean...it's Steak n Shake...what else can I say. In terms of taste/quality, It's a small step above McDonalds and lower...much lower...than say a Habit Burger Grill. Burgers are ok for the price. They say they use steak meat (hence the name) but I'm not convinced. Fries are terrible. Lines are always long (con) bc they cook the burgers to order (pro). Milkshakes are really good. My favorite flavors are turtle caramel and their seasonal Peppermint Chocolate Chip, which rivals Chick Fil A's infamous peppermint chocolate chip shake. Is Steak n Shake worth going out of the way for? Absolutely not. BUT they're open 24 hours so its the kind of place you go to at 3am or if you need some super cheap decently-tasting food in a (somewhat) hurry. read more

Not a clean table in the entire store. I asked a very unhappy looking employee if she could wipe off a table and she said she was taking out the trash. Finally she showed up about 10 minutes later and wiped off the table and flung food all over the seats. I asked if she would wipe the seats off (since they were now covered in food) and she said you want me to wipe the seats off? I said yes please they are covered in food. She turned around and walked away and refused to wipe the seats off. So then I asked another employee who was cooking on the grill and he agreed to come and finish the job but we had gotten our food by this point. Used to be an enjoyable place, but now no waitresses and lousy food it's pretty pathetic

I love steak n shake but I went here twice asking for the 4 meals under 4 dollars and they refuse to give it to me. I have been to other locations recently such as the one in Sawgrass area and Delray Beach and I had received the special. What make it so bad is that I see the special on the menu but they keep telling me it's discontinued but its still being advertise. I left highly disappointed and upset with this location. I wanted to speak with an manager about this but my server said the manager had left for tonight. The food quality here is good I usually like my food from all steak n shakes. This one usually stay busy and what I do like is that steak n shake is 24hrs so you can stop in anytime for a bite. There is one in Orlando off Apopka Vineland that is dubbed the worst Steak n Shake in the United States however, I believe this location would give them a run for their money. I sat at the counter in order to keep the table available because nobody seem to care about clearing them much less seating people. I had to finally ask if somebody would mind taking my order after a young man kept trying to give me different milkshakes that I never ordered. I ordered my food and waited a half an hour, watching the overworked cook banning both the buns and the meat side by himself. When I half an hour had passed and I needed to go, they finally brought my food I'll be cold and sweaty. I had the prime burger; don't bother - it's nothing but welfare burger with stringing meat smashed in to it. Maybe it would've tasted better if I had received it while it was still warm and the bun with caramelized - not wet from meat sweat. I do not blame the cook however because he had no support and no help. Managers walked by and asked him if he was alone and he said yes I need help more than once. He also told them he was getting off the clock at four and they seemed like they couldn't care any less. When asking them to pack up my food to go because it took so long to get it, you would've thought I asked the girl to recite the Magna Carta from memory. She rolled her eyes and went and did it. I ask her for salt and ketchup; please see the attached picture of all the salt she gave me. I only needed two. This is wasteful and why food prices go up at restaurants. First off, the food isn't bad, most days it could be better but its not bad. The service though is atrocious. Every single time I've eaten here the service is terrible. They always take forever, they barely check on you, they almost never get the order right, and it seems like they only hire incompetent losers who don't know how to do their job. Back when I was a young lad this place used to be the place to go for lunch or a typical outing, now its a place to go if you want to eat garbage and have your blood pressure skyrocket because of how enraged they'll make you. And the sad thing is, no one seems to do anything about it or even care. Every single time there are younger people who are working that are complete morons and always joking around instead of doing their job. The tables are always either messy or crawling with ants and roaches on the floor. The floors look terrible and the food is poorly put together. At one point I'm pretty sure I saw a waiter near the kitchen sexually assaulting what appeared to be a red velvet milkshake. Some of the other steak n' shake locations aren't too bad and the service at those locations are at least decent, but this one is filled with pathetic excuses of human trash. They need Gordon Ramsey there to instill some fear into those incompetent scums, and then maybe, and only maybe, it will become a half decent restaurant. You're better off going across the street to Denny's where at the least the food is good and the service is better. I'm convinced this steak n shake location is a giant trash dump, because that's all I see when I drive by it. I'd recommend to just dine and dash, honestly they'll never notice since barely anyone is ever there to assist on the register and everyone else is too busy being awful. All in all, the food is alright when it finally does arrive at your table but the service sucks big time and seems like it always will. Don't even get me started about the drive thru. Although nothing can beat being open late night when you just binged your favorite movie series (Harry Potter, cough, cough) and your starving than biting into some warm shoes string fries and for my husband a satisfying flat top cooked burger. The Cajun is his favorite and I take their fries plain. Disgusting.... YES; but also intrinsically satisfying at midnight. From this following perspective we're fans of this late night food establishment compared to pizza (BORING) and a change up from Taco Bell. The service is good the food is eeh, very sloppy when given to you, but my concern is with paying cash here, when I come and pay with a card they give me the correct receipt, however when I hand them cash they take the correct amount and give me the correct change like today my total was 6.43 and thats what I paid. However the receipt they printed and gave me was for 2.64...... so is the register off at the end of the night??? We come here for breakfast ONLY. It normally is ok, but only with Cindy as our server. She is an outstanding server and runs circles around all of the others. On my last visit, Cindy was not there. They were OUT OF BISCUITS, which includes most of their breakfast items. The floor was extremely slippery including the areas UNDER the tables. We place a mobile order that was supposed to be ready in 15 minutes, we showed up 20 minutes after placing the order because we know they are always slow here. So my daughter was celebrating her art competition and felt for milkshakes so we dined in at Steak'nShake they also have a drive thru option. This restaurant has a 50's red, white and black pop shop theme with black and white checkered tiles, leather booths and neon lights. The waiters are wearing white button ups and black aprons and black bow ties. We're greeted at the door and seated with menus. We asked to move to another seat because were we sat and a stain on the table and the booth seat was greasy and needed to whip down. My daughter was indecisive on which burger to get the truffle mushroom or swiss cheddar burger so we got both and shared it half and half with fries and she ordered the very berry strawberry banana milkshake and I got chocolate. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and the burgers were good cooked medium well. The fries are thin cut and crispy. And when it's time to pay you have to pay at the register. read more

I've grown accustomed to receiving horrible service at Steak n' Shakes many establishments, but damn, will they ever run a decent location? I don't choose to come to Steak n' Shakes unless it's where others want to go. Today we had a $10 gift card so we didn't want to waste it. Upon entering we see that the place has a decent amount of people, this is usual day or night unless it's very late night since they're open 24 hours. They take a while most times to sit you down full or not. When we were seated the server was "non existent." Everyone seemed like zombies except maybe one or two team members. We ordered a shake, side of fries, triple steak burger with fries, and a salad. The food is actually not bad because your paying so little for it. But there are times that the orders just don't come out right. I pay attention to what's happening around me wherever I go to eat and it's a recurring theme at Steak n' Shake. I don't know who to blame, the servers or the ones cooking. I asked for no cheese but got cheese, and of course was charged for it at the end. The food like everyone states usually takes forever to come. The shakes more than anything take forever to come. Expect to wait for whatever is ordered. The server does not return after taking your order only to drop off the food. And after that you have to flag them down. If you are looking for low priced decent burgers and shakes you can visit Steak n' Shake. If not then stay far away from this place. All of them. read more
