If you like- to wait 10 minutes to be seated, 45 minutes for your food to be served & then an additional 20 minutes for the milkshakes to come out- then this your place. Mind you we ordered the milkshakes with the food and only half of them came out before the food. 45 minutes waiting for the food, the server comes to tell us they are out of mini corndogs. So we had to get chicken for the kids meal. So we called the manager and asked her what's with all the problems? And Aisha the manager says "Oh he should of known we been out of corn dogs since last nite." And she stopped talking, so my husband said "Why did it take 45 minutes for him to tell us there were no corndogs? And why is the food taking so long to come out?" And she already had a pissed off face but now she looked angry and bothered. And she says "I'll take care of the check." And walked away. Literally we were all just sitting there, looking at each other with the same shocked face. She was not happy to be there and we were definitely bothering her. Then the food came and it was all prepared incorrectly. People who didn't want pickles got pickles, people who didn't want mustard got mustard, people who wanted plain fries got spicy fries, and etc. you get the picture. So everyone has their meal, yes we were unhappy but there was no way we were to send any of it back. For what? To wait another hour to get our right order? No way. My daughter had order macaroni and cheese, so I asked the server for a spoon and napkins because he never brought any utensils or napkins when he brought us our waters. Some time passes and still waiting. The servers comes to tell us there are no clean utensils, and we say fine can we have a plastic spoon and napkins. Again waiting and waiting. My husband finally gets up and goes to the register and asks for a spoon and napkins. Everyone is done eating and our server comes to tell us that the 3 remaining milkshakes will take another 15 minutes to come out. Well we were already just amazed at how crappy this place was, so we were not surprised. The first 4 milkshakes he brought to the table an hour ago were in to-go cups and we thought that was strange. Finally the 3 missing milkshakes come and their in 3 glass cups. So we asked for to-go cups and we poured our milkshakes into them and left. It was a table of 3 kids and 6 adults. The food was good. The service from the kitchen and the management was questionable. We waited at the door for 10 mins before we were even greeted. At last a server by the name of 'Amanda' helped and sat us. She wasn't even aware she was our server at first but saw no one came to our table. Amanda was very helpful even with everything she had already on her plate. You can tell she was new in the industry and I wish her lots of luck. Other than the fact the kids find the food delicious (and I don't necessarily disagree) I don't know how this place stays open. The service is always horribly sloooowwww and the staff always seems to be struggling with service and keeping the place clean. This place is just disgusting. the blinds on the windows are covered in specks of food, and the tables were too. I was sat at a table that was covered in the last customers food and there was even gum on the booth! Ive never ate somewhere that is allowed to remain open while being so very disgusting. the walls the floors the bathrooms the table...even my water had stuff in it...needless to say I didnt drink the water. My food was disgusting as well and came cold. my wife had green stuff in her food as well. I used to lovd coming to this resturant but the padt couple times have made me disgusted with how this company hold its standards. Let me preface this by saying I LOVE Steak 'n Shake. But today was an experience that will probably prevent me from going back to this location ever again. I'll keep it simple. I ordered a double steak burger with cheese. I got a single. I asked the waitress if she put it in correctly and she promptly showed me the receipt which showed a double. I was starving and I'm a bit of a fatty so I made the mistake of eating that single in about 3 bites instead of showing it to the waitress. When I went to the manager who happened to be the person cashing people out, I got a "look" followed by "I MADE THAT, you're wrong". Seriously? I don't need the 50 cent difference in cost but KIMBERLY basically called me a liar instead of just saying I'm sorry. The food is as good as any other Steak N Shake. The service is extremely poor. I mean it was horrible. We waited for a waitress to seat us, okay. There was a young lady mopping the floor in our section, who turned out to be our waitress. They driest personality ever. She put the mop down grabbed napkins and straws and plopped them on our table. Then she just stared at us, no smile nothing. We looked up at her then she mumbled 'You want something to drink.' So I came here because it's not ver often I can go to one with where I live. They where slow the waitress was unfriendly and gave the milkshakes in a to go cup instead of a glass. When the food came out the waitress had our order and another tables order. Now if your surviving food and you know you'll have food on a tray on your shoulder or close to your shoulder have your hair tied up. Where it's not in customers food when going it to them. With no onions or pickles &' a banana shake... my total time in the drive was about 20 minutes. I'm big on customer service. I come into the restaurant to a sign that reads "Please wait to be seated." I do so, patiently. I wasn't greeted or anything while staff continued to walk past me as if I was a ghost. After a failed attempt to notify one employee, I finally get someone's attention. I tell her how long I had been waiting and that no one has come to assist me. She finds me a booth and sits me there. A guy comes over to take my order shortly thereafter. My drink arrives. I really hate to only give this location 2 stars as the food was good, the service excellent! The issues is the place needs a major cleaning and perhaps a redo! It looks dirty and worn. Shame as the food and price is a good value. Shanice was our server for this visit and she did an awesome job of anticipating our needs. I could not ask for more! It seems most of the locations I have visited seem old and worn. Corporate needs to step up and spend some money on updating the decor and revising their restaurant cleaning policy. The people that work at S&S deserve it and so do their patrons. On this visit we had the prime steak burger it was a good value for the price paid and was cooked just right. It comes with shoestring fries (very small serving) $6.95. I washed that nice size burger with a cherry limeade ( a little too sweet and not enough lime) $1.95. 9 bucks for a burger, fries and drink, not bad! My niece also had the steak burger and, an Oreo cookie milkshake. She liked the shake and u cannot beat the price $2.50 as this was happy hour (3 to 5 pm) all drinks and shakes half price. While visiting Florida we always go to steak and shake because their food and shakes are amazing, especially for the prices. Usually the service is sub par or just bad all together but this time one of the servers (Sean) made sure our group enjoyed our time. We were a large group of over 20 and he made sure to serve us with a smile and was very efficient. We had a great time relaxing after a long time traveling because of him and we will definitely be back to this location! read more

THIS IS THE WORST STAKE N SHAKE!!!!! I decided to try this place out since it's near the target. My friends and I walked in standing there for ten minutes. A young African American lady with braces said, "Come on." walked us to the table as we sit down she walked away. Another ten minutes go the same girl comes to us and said our waiter is busy so she will take our order. (Only two people ordered) after taken the order she walked away. (Mind you I don't see a name tag) she didn't introduce herself. 40 minutes later there's still no food, no shakes, and empty glasses of water just waiting to get refilled. (I'm not sure if they even refill water) it would've been nice since the workers just walking around looking at our table. There was a homeless man walking back and fourth. (He hug one of the older woman who works there) That same older woman had a back and fourth with a customer she didn't want that young boy in the restaurant she wasn't going to serve him. Loud and rude to the point the room got silent. I was over it! Ready to walk out! I notice this short white guy with black hair that was going around making sure everyone was okay so I got his attention. I told him we are waiting for two orders past an hour now so he took the order and went to see what was the hold up and told us that the food wasn't ready yet. Another 30 minutes past. The food came but guess what the shakes wasn't even on the first list of order form. One of my friend had the sandwich and what she got was the meat, onion, bun, and cheese. Her order wasn't complete and she told the lady who took the first order and the guy no onions. They order the shakes and the older lady came back with the wrong shakes. We all decided that this place isn't going to work out ever. Now that the young short white guy with black hair. HE WAS THE ONLY CUSTOMER FRIENDLY PERSON. HE MADE SURE WE WERE OK GOING FORWARD, AND HE APOLOGIZED. Now to check out. Checking out (once I walked in there's this African American boy that works in the area where the cookers at. HE WAS ON HIS CELLPHONE!) now that I'm checking out I see him still on his cell phone. I'm just looking at him. He was putting the buns away sorting out the buns maybe that's his job description however the manager standing right there a tall white guy in a blue shirt see that his co worker is on the phone and walk right pass him. HORRIBLE experience! Went to the drive through for some food on a Saturday night. On top of the fact that the drive through takes FOR EVER (15 plus minutes) they managed to give me a completely different order! EVERYTHING WAS WRONG. I had to park get out the car (keep in mind this is after waiting 15 min in the drive through) and tell them to correct the order. (Another 15 min later) The manager who was there looked at me like if I was crazy when I told her what was wrong once again!!! If I could give this place 10 stars I would!!! Not necessarily for the food or the ambience, but for my server Santiago or Sergio (unsure) but the service was impeccable. I traveled to a lot of places in the world and this guy by far had the best skills I've seen in years. I would have to spend a LOT of money at a high end hotel or restaurant somewhere to make his great attention to detail. (maybe all-inclusive Sandals resort). He made me feel like the only person in the restaurant and he got it right and was cordial. Had a great experience if you visit this location do yourself a favor and demand Santiago, you wont regret it. I had the Royale Steak-burger that came out SUPER quick almost wasn't ready for it. This is a terrible Steak 'n Shake. It does not feel clean when you walk in or sit down, the bathrooms are borderline horror film material and the smell of them is near indescribable. I have been there three times and all three times the service has been terrible from missing food items and sauces to completely forgetting two milkshakes. Not only is forgotten items an issue but every time I have been there the server lays down the food and left, never to be seen until the check. Non no less this is still stake n shake so if you are in the mood for their food go because the food taste fine just like any other. The prices are cheap and the food is fast. We waited 15 minutes after being seated hoping to be acknowledged by anyone from the wait staff. We received not so much as an "I'll be right with you". As we waited we watched individuals who came in after us served including someone who decided to seat himself. Since we were invisible to the wait staff we felt we wouldn't be missed and walked out. If you want greasy fast food served at a snail's pace then Steak n Wait is your place..... that is if you're lucky to be noticed. For starters; I never write reviews, but this is visit was so terrible it compelled me to download the Yelp app to let me express my experience and maybe provide this store with better perspective of its terrible customer service today. Probably the worst service I've ever received. Not only was the store hardly busy (only drive thru), but the miscommunication/bickering between the workers was just completely unprofessional. I witnessed multiple people just walk out because no one was tending to them. Not even a "Hi, we'll be with you in a few!" The workers have no concept of team work. They blamed each other for being behind on tickets. Not only that but I witnessed a manager AND a crew worker just wipe their sweaty foreheads with their hands. The manager didn't put gloves on continued to fry and touch food. The crew worker just put on gloves and went back to making burgers. There is no sense of urgency, no sense of customer service, no hospitality, not a clue on what it means to keep a clean area or clean as you go. No direction. No empowering leadership. Just bickering, not even the manager (tall and bald, large man wearing a tan shirt) provided proper instruction to a worker who fell behind. The hand washing part just gave me so much anxiety, this place has no food safety/health/sick policies and if they do they should have their license revoked. As a service manager at my own job, this visit just tore me apart and gave me so much anxiety. I've never had a problem like this before at this location but I'm definitely never coming back.
