    Flight of beers.

A party atmosphere for sure on the weekends. The flight of beer does the trick while allowing you to sample their wares. Get there early on a Saturday as the servers can get busy and a table may be hard to come by.

New Brewery on Atlanta Rd in Smyrna. Let's check it out

Went and experienced the newest brewery in Smyrna. I've watched the StillFire Brewery being built for months and I finally got to try it. It's a very nice establishment built in a great location. The aesthetics are great. The beer selection was pretty good except they were out of a few things. The food situation was just ok because their taco spot was not open. They did have a couple of food trucks so that was cool. The staff were friendly and it was a very inviting location. I'll have to check back when the taco spot is open.

Outside - GO went until midnight.

The beer, environment, and service is great! Beto's is really good, even though they only have the food truck currently.

The interior was fairly large, but a good half was separated by the large storage tankers and equipment. There were plenty of picnic style tables on either side of the bar though so seats were aplenty. There were also some high table top style seats and a few comfy seats near the goat paintings. Yes, there are goat paintings. Additionally there were two old school game consoles, but only was working. But it was a two for one game: Ms. Pac-Man and Galaga. This was free to play! And of course there were two T.V.'s with some sort of game playing in the background. Now for the alcohol itself... I tried a beer that had Naughty in its name which was fruity and had a low IBU (International Bitter Units). The strawberry margarita was super strong. But then again, I was sipping from the very bottom. I also sampled the hubs' stout and a watermelon lime beer to which both were pretty tasty. The vibe here was chill as it should be. One guy was super friendly throughout the whole evening engaging us in conversation and willing to help me find the perfect beer pairing according to my taste buds with a few sampling.

We arrived around 1 pm on a Saturday and had issue finding parking in their main lot. There is an overflow lot behind the building and there is signage to direct there if needed. When we arrived, we smelled something delicious coming from the on-site food truck, heard some great live music coming from inside and there were a ton of folks inside and outside just having a good ol time. Once we walked inside, there was plenty of beer on tap but I appreciated that there were frozen drinks available and with their partnership with Urban Tree, I was excited to see some of my old favorite ciders. The guy that helped me was super sweet and helpful. He made some great suggestions and I had a vodka blueberry lemonade, came back later for a water-marita which was my favorite. We order some loaded fries from their onsite food truck and the fries were amazinggggg! Huge portion, hot, and just the right amount of food. They have plenty of other stuff on the menu but the fries were good enough for the both of us. I totally forgot what drink my husband got but I do remember he enjoyed them. We had a great time just people watching, listening to music and chatting with folks. This is a good place to just come and hang for awhile for sure and we'll be back sooooooon.

I quickly reviewed the menu and ordered an American IPA that I had never tried before called Perfect Match. I really enjoyed it because it had great flavor, but was not too hoppy. Wifey ordered the Radler, which was there light Shandy. We sat down and chatted with our friend and enjoyed the layout and atmosphere. I noticed the place was very pet friendly and a couple dogs came over to visit with us. We did not stay long, but it was a very good experience and we will definitely have to come back to try some other offerings.

We had dinner at Bold Monk Brewing Company on Tuesday. The beer and food were good, and so were the…read moreservice and atmosphere. This is a Belgian-inspired brewery, restaurant, bookstore, and beer garden all under one roof. Bold Monk is located in the Upper Westside of Atlanta, near Chattahoochee Food Works and Topgolf Atlanta Midtown. There's plenty of free parking around the building and on the street (Ellsworth Industrial Blvd NW). I like the space here because there are various spaces inside and "outside" to spread out and hang out. I put "outside" in quotes because their patio is fully covered and enclosed -- good for bad weather. I had the Presence Pilsner (lager, 4.8%, 16 oz, $7). It was cold, crisp, and refreshing. I recommend it. The menu describes it as offering a "soft bready malt, delicate herbal and floral hop notes, and clean, dry finish." For dinner, I had the Salmon Dip ($16) to start and the Steak + Frites (market price) as my main. The Salmon Dip is made with house-cured salmon and tarragon aioli, and comes with thin toast triangles. The Steak + Frites is "chef's cut" (not sure which, didn't ask) and comes with Bearnaise, arugula, and Belgian frites (fries). The Bearnaise went great with both the steak and the fries. Bold Monk is known for their Belgian Frites, "The Original French Fry," which comes with a variety of sauces and in a few different styles. They also offer a variety of mussels and pizza. My buddy had one of the pizzas, "the 1838," I believe, which comes with different mushrooms, mozzarella, and house-made truffle ricotta. He seemed to enjoy it. The pizzas - the 1836, the 1899, the 1838, the 1850, and the 1862 - are all named after years that monasteries opened in Europe. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out just right. The quality of the cut was average/about what you'd expect for budget-friendly steak frites (it's no Bar Blanc in terms of cut quality). But still, that and the Salmon Dip were tasty and satisfying enough. Good service from both our server and the host/manager, who made sure my friend did not leave his jacket behind. Bold Monk opened in December 2019.

Then a chorizo pizza fresh and crispy along with the ham and cheese. All delicious with a good portion size. I walked around to see the bookstore and event areas. The space is a beautiful venue with a good amount of parking space. If you don't have a venue sized party you can still bring your friends they have room. Buy cocktails instead of beer or something bottled that you know. Then eat the delicious food and be catered to by a great waiter. You won't be disappointed.
