We got the inspection scheduled just as fast. On the day of the inspection, Chris called me to keep me updated throughout the day. The only thing I would slightly ding them for is that they arrived pretty much at the end of the appointment window. However, Chris kept me updated on his status. I'm very disappointed with my experience with this company. I felt like the salesman who came out…read morerecommended a significant amount of work that was unnecessary, and the repair they ultimately offered was extremely overpriced in my opinion. The price they quoted me was around $3,000, and I've included some pictures below. What concerns me most is the lack of trust I now have in their recommendations. I previously hired this company to do tuckpointing work for me. About three years later, I contacted them about touching up a few areas, and I was told the work was already in bad shape. When I reminded them that they were the ones who had performed the original work, the response was essentially, "Oh, we can just repair these couple of bricks. It's not a big deal." After that experience, and now being presented with what I believe is an unnecessarily expensive repair, I simply don't feel comfortable doing business with this company anymore. When you hire a company and spend good money on their work, you expect fair pricing, honest recommendations, and quality workmanship. Unfortunately, that's not the experience I had.

After moving to our home (new to us but built in 1978) we learned from a chimney sweep that our…read morefireplace was not only incorrectly converted to gas but was constructed in such a way that it would have never worked correctly as a wood burning fireplace. Which is probably why the original owners attempted to convert it to gas. We wanted wood, not gas, and we wanted to get the 26% federal income tax credit. So we visited A Fireplace Store and More and spoke to the woman working there. She set up a date for Rony to come out and give us an estimate. Rony showed up on time and we settled on a modern high efficiency biomass fireplace insert that qualifies for the credit. Parts and labor was not cheap, but we wanted a quality appliance and this business has decades of experience, which we also wanted. We put down a deposit and set the installation day, which was today. Rony and his team showed up on time, worked quickly, did good quality work and cleaned up afterwards. Rony explained how to use the new fireplace and was all done in a matter of 3-4 hours. Very happy with our purchase and service and we can't wait until we can use it this winter.

I had them relocate it into my finished basement. Because it has a big pipe vent that went out through my cedar shake shingle siding, some residing needed to be done as well as patching the exit hole. Drywall work, residing and all the small details were completed with precision as well as repiping the gas line. I'm very happy that I chose NWMC to work with again this time.
