We found this wonderful restaurant by happenstance! Thank goodness we did! We got there right as they opened and opted to sit on their patio. Lucky for us a lovely woman and her dog named Winny were there. She had returned to specifically order the Sunday Roast Chicken. Being the dog lover and nosy person I am, we had already chatted. So when I heard her order the chicken, I was intrigued. I opted for the chicken and my husband ordered the Scallops which was that night's special. OMG...both dishes were sublime. I only wish we had room for desserts. Maybe next time. The service was amazing in spite of several other large parties on the patio. I cannot wait to go back and in the meanwhile I am going to try and replicate that amazing pan sauce served with the roast chicken. We live Las Vegas and have dined in many amazing restaurants. I would choose Stone Creek Bistro over any of those places. The vibe is quaint & warm, the food & wine is superb. On a snowy night we braved the compacted snow on the road to venture to Stone Creek, we were so happy we did, we had early reservations, so it wasn't crowded and there was no wait. The soup of the day was amazing, it was a cauliflower cream, the bread and butter was a little too good! I ended up wiping the soup bowl clean with the bread! I asked the server what her favorite dish was, it was the seafood curry. I'm so glad I ordered it. On a cold snowy night, it had just the right amount of heat. The coconut curry broth the clams, mussels and white fish was savory and just slightly sweet. The good news, one has to work to get the meat out of the shellfish, so I wasn't inclined to eat too fast and get stuffed. I was well sated and mustered the willpower to pass on dessert. I've been coming to this restaurant every time I visit the area for years and they never disappoint! The staff is sooooo great and it's such a cozy, nice environment. The food is also excellent! This time around we started with the soup of the day which was a cauliflower chowder that was to die for!!!! I got the steak frites and my fiancé got the short rib. Both dishes were excellent! We were having a relaxing Memorial Day weekend with friends in Lake Arrowhead. Every interaction with the owner/manager was inexplicably hostile. He yelled at us while we made the reservation on the phone. He claimed it was a busy night, and he couldn't risk accommodating a party of eight in case we didn't show up. We promised that we would show up, and he begrudgingly accepted the reservation. The day of our reservation, we called in advance to confirm. We actually showed up a few minutes early. He then yelled at us as we were being seated. We left without eating, because we didn't want to reward such rude behavior with our business. I don't understand how anyone could think this is acceptable behavior. read more

Best restaurant around the lake and they take reservations! Restaurant is dark and cozy. Always have had good service here. Menu changes frequently depending on the season. On our latest visit, I had the filet mignon which came with asparagus and Lyonnaise potatoes. The meat was very tender and juicy. It came with a mustard sauce on the side that tasted great on the steak. Others in my group had the pork porterhouse and linguini with clams. We tried 3 of their homemade desserts which were all delicious; profiteroles (puff pastry), blackberry cabernet sorbet with fruit and the sticky toffee pudding. Four stars instead of five, from me, because while I am sympathetic about the impact of COVID, the menu feels like it hasn't changed in A YEAR. Please guys, can we have some new menu items! I would love to have some fish other than the same salmon dish I've been occasionally (admittedly quite enjoying) for the past six months. And you MUST start offering a real steak option on a regular basis! The steak frites is frankly a bit underwhelming, just OK. And it certainly does not showcase the chef's skills/creativity the way the other dishes do. As someone who loves a good steak, my heart drops just a little every time I load the menu webpage and see only "Steak frites" again. I am bored with the offerings, but again, the quality is superb. Came here with family and was happy to read other yelper's reviews stating vegan options. Yay!!! It was a place where both vegan and non-vegans could enjoy a stress-free dinner. This is a fancier restaurant than most you see in the village (and tastes better too)- perfect for a date night or when you are celebrating a special occasion. But you don't need a special someone or a special occasion to come here. We were greeted right away and seated promptly. Yay for us, because we were hungry! Jennifer was our sever and she was great... Fast, friendly and accommodating. FYI: They cater to people with allergies, as listed on the menu, so don't be afraid to let your server know! We let her know we were vegan and set us up right away. Hubby and I got the chef's special vegan dish which consisted of bucatini noodles, mushrooms, tomatoes, green onion, asparagus... Stir fried into yumminess (Is that even a word?!). The veggies tasted fresh and the dish was filling!!! This was my first time ever having bucatini noodles and they were good. The sauce used had a nice flavor, a tiny bit on the saltier side as I continued to eat the noodles covered with more sauce, but not bad at all. Overall, very good and one of the better meals I've had requesting vegan food in a non-vegan establishment. Wish more restaurants accommodated people with allergies and dietary restrictions. This dish should be added to the menu (hint, hint). They also had a nice selection of desserts, most included dairy items, but our server told us that they had a raspberry sorbet, which wasn't listed on the menu, but was a dairy-free, vegan alternative. I was way too full for dessert but it's great to have the option! The ambience was nice and the service was good. Drinks came up right away, food tasted fresh, bread was warm, and it wasn't noisy despite the restaurant being nearly full. If you're in the area, it's worth a stop!!! Just so-so. Went here for my husbands birthday - not thrilled. Place was seriously crowded- had to squeeze through the exit between people just to leave. Went there for the highly touted "shrimp and grits"- yuk! Zero flavor and grits were lumpy. Husband had the "seafood pot"- nothing special and he didn't like the sauce. Always loved going here and having Jenn serve us. She is very hospitable, friendly and knowledgeable. Haven't been for awhile, maybe once or twice during Covid. We tired them again tonight and can say we won't be back. Food okay, not very warm, staff not welcoming or friendly (didn't see Jenn) hostess sat at the bar with her feet up on the bar stools while on her personal cell phone the entire time we dined. Then they charge us $4 to help cover the costs of food and employees!? Our bill was $140 for two people, plus tip, and the hostess sat at the bar with her FEET up on the barstools; only got up to seat 2 other tables and to go outside and smoke? This new restaurant in Blue Jay is just what the area needs. The food is great and it is family run. They are going thru a few growing pains but I am sure that this will clear up in short time. We enjoyed the Heirloom Tomatoes with Mozzarella Cheese along with the Duck Fat Fries for an appetizer. For a main entree my Wife enjoyed the Herb Chicken and I really liked the Pork Chop with Grits. Recommended to us by one of my wife's co-workers who lives in the area. Very small location, very friendly and attentive staff. Wife and I both had the Flat Iron Steak, and we shared the Soup of the Day, English Ale and Cheese Bisque. Soup came first and it was a small cup but due to the richness, the cup was more than enough for the two of us. Tasted great as a Soup, Fondue Sauce for the crust bread, Fondue Sauce for our Steaks, Extra Cheese Sauce for the au gratin potatoes and asparagus that came with our steaks. Would have also been great for Nachos, rarely do you find something so good that it could fill so many culinary roles, especially when it "only soup" Great way to start the meal. Then came the flat iron steaks, perfectly cooked with a beautiful sear and perfect medium rare on the inside. Thursday evening at 7:30, no wait. We were seated immediately. At busier times, you might want a reservation, this place is tiny. The look and feel of the place is..... funky in a cool way. The menu is limited, but the food was excellent. It is a bit pricier than I'm used to, but it's on a mountain, so... Cheeseburger with fries- this thing was excellent. It was huge and it was tasty. The duck fat fries? Meh.... I prefer something more traditional. My wife thought they were magical. The mushroom ravioli- you gotta love mushrooms or pass on this. We do love them and it was fantastic. The pasta was perfectly cooked, the mushrooms were as well and seasoned nicely. The cream sauce was very tasty, but very rich. Get yourself a nice wine to go with this and a beer with the burger. They have both. As it happens, the soup was cauliflower bisque. We must all die some day. Sad as it is true, the day would not be a total loss if I drowned in a gallon of this soup. Seriously, skip the entrees, get a salad and a bowl of this soup with bread. We made a last minute reservation and were able to get in on a busy Friday night. I was excited to try this restaurant because there really aren't too many spots to eat in Blue Jay or the surrounding area. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and promptly taken to our table. The restaurant itself is cute. Definite cabin vibe but also nicely modern. Our waitress was a bit slow with the service, I think we sat there for nearly 30 minutes before she was able to grab our appetizer order. It was a busy Friday, but service was a bit lacking. Food wise, they were on point. Our friends had the brussel sprouts and beef carpaccio, claiming both were tasty. I was able to switch up the sides on the Jidori chicken due to a food allergy and was pleasantly surprised at how flavorful such a simple dish had. The chicken skin was crisp and the au jus was perfect with the sauteed spinach. All in all a tasty meal and definitely looking forward to coming back on our next trip up the mountain. read more
