I love this place. It's my absolute favorite on the hill. We have been up here for 12 years and seen places come and go but this place is here to stay. They are constantly adding new creations to their menu, they have an amazing wine selection and a great indoor space with a cute back patio. We have eaten here several times. Some of my favorites are the duck, steak frites, mussels, duck fat fries. We often get mushroom ravioli for the table to share. Save room for dessert! Stone Creek is a solid restaurant. The food is pretty good. Duck Fat fries are delicious, but there are better fries on the mountain imho (Cedar Glen malt shop and Spade + Spatula for instance). Steaks tend to be dry to my taste but prepared properly as to temperature. Skip the super over cooked Sunday Roast chicken - I could have used as a coffee filter. I needed lots of water to finish it. Average wine selection. I've been here a few times, always just ok. Get the Short Rib and duck fries and you will be good. read more

Steak Frites - Quality of steak is subpar. We received a whole piece of steak that was like a rock. Fork cannot penetrate the steak and the steak knife can not go through. We were unable to eat it. I wish a video can be posted on here to show our disappointment. Other than that, the Shishito pepper appetizer was good. We also had the Rigatoni and it was okay, the cream cheese bread that came with the dish was surprisingly good though. However, for pasta, I'd suggest Puglia in the same town. Their Italian dishes were better there. In addition, everyone in the restaurant wears mask properly except the owner (If we are not mistaken). He even coughed a little while having his mask hanging on one side of his ear. I brought a group through based upon my last visit. But was greatly disappointed upon my recent visit. Once sat we waited 10mins and no one brought us menus. So we sent out a person in our party to fetch the menus. Our waitress Jamie informed us that she was sick but wearing a mask, ok that's fine. Our pressed coffee was delivered AFTER appetizers were served and instead of an apology we got an excuse from the server. By the way the pressed coffee was lukewarm once it finally arrived. The chicken entree was over cooked / very dry. The short rib entree was over cooked and overly fatty (pieces were inedible) however the sauce and veggies were tasty. We asked if we could order appetizers first and wait to see how hungry we are to order the rest but we were told by jamie "that's not how the chef want it." I guess you order everything upfront and you receive appetizers, drinks, then entrees in that order because that's how they do it at this establishment. read more

Yep! Great place! Wine pours are generous and service excellent. My husband had the filet flat steak and he allowed me one bite. A bite enough to concur with his straight up comment (repeated 3 times, two during dinner and the last when back at the hotel hours later), "that steak just melted in my mouth". He said this in wonderment each time. I had the half chicken and told Marcie, our spot on attentive and peppy waitress, that I was sorry for ordering a boring chicken dish. 30 minutes later she placed a beautiful chicken dish before me with an appealing citrus glaze and perfect char plated to perfection. She didn't even come over to address us professionally or privately, she thought it was appropriate to raise her voice and explain this to us like we were kindergartners from across the big table we were seated at, so that everyone dining outdoors could overhear and started looking at us like we were causing some kind of scene when the fact is, she was the one getting loud and defensive. My partner and I were so turned off by how she handled this, we also had our child with us, that we just said, "Fine" and ended up just with a meal that wasn't what we specifically drove an hour out of town to celebrate with. As I'm vacationing in Arrowhead, I wanted to sample a few of the local restaurants in the area. My vacation agent recommended this spot so I checked it out last night. They have very limited parking. I had to park across the highway. When I arrived I was greeted right away. They were busy, not packed. They sat me at a 2 top. Nice decor of the place. It feeds off of an older style feel. The room I was in was small. So you could hear everyone else's conversation. The waitress greeted me and they brought out some warm bread. I ended up ordering a blue cheese wedge salad, steak with au gratin potatoes and asparagus. The salad came out with a good presentation. The portion size didnt really match the price. The steak I had was surprisingly tender for not being a filet. It was undercooked from what I wanted but was still good. The potatoes were good, but the asparagus was really dry and not that great. We are vacationing in lake arrow head this week so we came to Stone Creek Bistro for dinner since it had 4 star reviews. We waited for the food for 25 minutes before the salad came out. We were patient, thinking it's going to be worth the wait. I ordered the vegan curry with chicken and it was 6/10. My boyfriend asked the server what is the chefs best item and was told to order the Thai spaghetti . His plate was very salty to the point that it wasn't edible. My sister had ordered the chicken, it was very tasteless and the chicken tasted very old. My boyfriend had to order another food, we waited for 10 minutes and didn't receive his food so by then we all had finished our food. To top it off the waitress didn't even take that order off the tab even though we didn't have time to wait for it and told her we don't need it. She removed the chicken and spaghetti off but her attitude was just not right. Disrespectful, long wait time and terrible quality. read more

Visiting Lake Arrowhead for the weekend, we had an epically solid meal at Stone Creek Bistro, totally randomly and unexpected, 5 stars in all the right ways. First, they brought our 1 year old a plate of sliced up fruit just cuz. And they plated it, even though he didn't care and we instantly removed the fruit from the plate for the plates sake. We couldn't pick from the so many delicious options on the menu - all crosses between comfort food and fine dining. We chose 3 apps and 3 entrees and split them between 4 adults. Apps - tomato soup with grilled cheese in a French onion crock - I mean, a classic pairing but elevated with extra cheese! Yes please! - mac n cheese fritters - perfectly fried, bacon in the middle, and a grilled green onion and a delicious buttermilk sauce - and toast topped with a fried egg, roasted tomatoes, and wild mushrooms, a little hard to share, but worth the extra effort. Entrees - braised lamb shank w/ mashed potatoes and veggies - tender meat falling off the bone - shrimp and grits - cheesy and hearty, you know your dish is rich when the shrimp is the fresh element - and my entree, the delicious SEAFOOD POT - mussels, shrimp, and clams drenched in the most delicious red curry broth with chunks of ginger and lemongrass - it' should come with a lifeguard because it is so big and I could drown in it and die happy! My family sometimes relies on me to find restaurants via Yelp when we're on the road, and Stone Creek Bistro made me look really good. Cheers! read more

Staying in Lake Arrowhead for one evening we wanted to have a special dinner experience at a fine restaurant. This highly rated restaurant did not disappoint either in service or food. Our family was warmly greeted as we entered this nicely decorated restaurant and promptly seated at our reservation time. We started off with the full size mussels (full size comes with the fries), a grilled caesar salad and fried Brussels sprouts. We enjoyed all of these, especially the mussels. For our entrees we selected the pork porterhouse, handmade ravioli, short rib pappardelle and the shrimp and grits. Each entree was rated top notch by the lucky person eating it (I had the pork which I liked a lot but found it to me a bit too much "briny"). We all were glad we went to Stone Creek and will be looking forward to coming back the next time we are in Lake Arrowhead read more

We've had dinner at Stone Creek Bistro many times. Every meal has been excellent. The owner was kind enough to share some Post & Beam wine that he was drinking one evening and since then it has become one of our favorites. Several friends have also enjoyed that wine too. The service is quite nice as well. The servers are very friendly and take pride in the customer service they provide. I would highly recommend Stone Creek Bistro. Another amazing meal at Stone Creek Bistro tonight. My husband and I were craving comfort food and the cheeseburger with duck fat fries hit the spot. Juicy patties with lettuce, tomato, pickles, grilled onions, special sauce and cheese. This hamburger is life changing!! It literally melts in your mouth. I made a reservation for my husbands birthday. I called the day of to see if we could bring a cake in and the fee. It was free to bring our own cake in which is rare to see these days. Our waitress was incredibly nice. She was super sweet to our 3 year old and even helped her post her crayon drawing on their cork board. The food was amazing. I had the salmon which the waitress recommended and it was so good I forgot to take a pic. My daughter got the buttered noodles and the waitress even brought over a small side of the red sauce for her to try. It was a tad spicy for a 3 year old but the effort was much appreciated.
