The lady(manager) at the register had an attitude rushing us to take the order. They made a wrong pizza and they threw some mushroom on the pizza uncooked without any apologizing for delayed serving. We asked for refund after they brought the pizza on the table. My wife took a piece and everything fell from it. The mashed potato was tasting different and my kid told me it's not what he ordered in previous dining. It was all mixed up with potato crust. I am disappointed if this restaurant. Tried this place for the first time yesterday and was very impressed! My sister and I ordered at the front an Asian salad and the 9" STONEFIRE favorite pizza. The Asian salad was delicious with its wontons and mandarins mixed with lettuce in a sesame dressing. However, a server brought out a veggie pizza which was the wrong pizza. We looked at our receipt and saw that the girl in the front had accidentally punched in the wrong pizza. After approaching a waitresss and explaining the situation, they quickly made the correct pizza for us and allowed us to keep the veggie pizza since it had touched our table. All of the employees who helped correct the situation sincerely apologized to us which was something very much appreciated. I like that this is a locally owned chain and I like the concept - but now that I have eaten here 3-4 times and picked up takeout twice...I am finding them frustrating due to an overall lack of consistency. The only thing that seems to be consistent is the carrot cake (which you should try...it is killer). Everything else is good one time and then less good another time. Tri-tip (tender and flavorful the first time, chewy and a bit tough the next two times). Ribs (tender and delicious the first time, chewy the next few times). I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I've driven by it a couple of times but I've never been. It's pretty much like a Panera bread, with better selection and lots of meats. You order at the counter when you walk in, get seated, they bring the food for you. Quality of the food is pretty good, but the portions are amazing. Price is good, and the selection is good. Me and one other person visited last evening, 8 January 2024. We had never been there before but heard from others what to expect the ambience was beautiful, warm and inviting and the smell of the wood burning was fantastic. I do feel there needs to be more fire pits around the restaurant to get more of the warm fireplace feeling. The food although it tasted fabulous, it was cold everything came out lukewarm except the mashed potatoes. In fact, the food was cool. I ordered cream corn and it was cool. The breadsticks got hard in an instant and cold the chicken was dry and cold And the tri-tip was barely warm. The mashed potatoes were the only thing that had steam coming off of them so if you're looking for a hot plate restaurant, this is not your place again the flavor is amazing but the service was less than desirable, and the food was way too cold. Unfortunately the salad was very under dressed. The breadsticks came out next and they were amazing really soft, soaked with garlic butter and parmesan cheese. We opted for the pepper garlic tri tip with Gorgonzola butter cooked to medium rare. The portion was a great size for two and the meat was very tender. Service: You order your food at the counter and then find a place to sit. Food came out fast and there is a self service beverage station at the location. The only thing that bothered me was that our tri tip was served on an uneven metal plate. I almost felt like I was being served dog food, and wished it came on an actual plate. Other than that, the food was good. The second time I got a tri tip meal for take out, and I really really appreciated the fact that everything came in separate containers. We did have one incident where part of our order wasn't brought out until the party was almost over: the breadsticks. My favorite is probably the Golden State Kale salad, the dressing compliments the flavors and textures nicely. One side that I really liked and you don't find on many menus is the roasted cauliflower, you get a whole head of cauliflower with seasoning and this delicious lemony dipping sauce. I was thrown off by the way StoneFire Grill runs their restaurant. Since I have never been to one, I assumed this was a "restaurant" where you have a waiter at your table. I wasn't the only one, my wife was confused too. If you have ever been to the Habit Grill this is pretty much the same scenario. You walk in and order from the menu. You are then given a pager and you walk over to any seating area you wish. The food is then brought out to your table. Silverware, napkins and drinks (Pepsi products) are off to a corner where you help yourself. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and cozy, with a spacious feeling. I ordered the Tri-Tip meal (10-12 oz.). They also have a 6 ounce, one pound and two pound servings. All of their individual meals include a salad (Garden, Caesar, Cartwheel or Greek) or small side item (mashed potatoes, nutty coleslaw, cowboy beans, or cauliflower salad). The meal also includes two freshly baked breadsticks. For my side I opted for the cowboy beans. They were scrumptious! I couldn't have been happier with my selection. Along with a handful of local food bloggers (from the Inland Empire), I was invited out to taste the menu at the newly opened Rancho Cucamonga location of Stonefire Grill. I'll admit that I'd never heard of the restaurant before but after my experience, I will definitely be back with family AND friends! The food and the service were just that good. The overall concept is fast-casual.... you have an option of dining in or ordering your food for take out (separate area for that). You order at the front (hence the fast part), take a buzzer with you (similar to Cheesecake Factory), your food is brought out to you family-style, you pick out your own plates, napkins, silverware, beverages, etc. and you seat yourself (hence the casual part). But there is nothing casual about the quality of the food. There is an extensive menu of pizza, pasta, salads, sides and items from the grill (steak, salmon, chicken) as well as vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options. There's literally something for everyone. Now on to the good part! Let's talk about food. The food is made to order and when I tell you FRESH is the best word to describe everything- I kid you not. Quite a few of the items are from family recipes handed down from generation to generation- like the "JENNY'S MEDITERRANEAN SALAD" with chicken patties. Legit- I tried to find the recipe on Pinterest and failed! It comes with kale, cucumber, mint, red peppers,red onion, tomato, creamy avocado and is topped with a lemon Tahini sauce. The patties were so delicious- crispy exterior with a soft, flavorful bite. Next up were the complimentary garlic bread sticks... I will admit I started to compare them with the likes of Enzo's garlic sticks (which come drenched in butter and garlic) but Enzo's are thicker and doughier in consistency. Stonefire's bread is thinner in size, baked to a nice golden brown and has a crunch at first bite... (I like crunch). I would've have enjoyed dipping it a marinara sauce or even a side of melted butter (judge me) so be sure to ask for a side of something to dip it into. Other items we were able to try- the "TOMESTO" pasta combo (1/2 tomato based pasta & 1/2 pesto)... I'm not a huge fan of pasta BUT my guest loved it so I took some home for my husband to enjoy and he raved about it. Another "winner, winner chicken dinner" item was the "STONEFIRE'S PIZZA" which comes with homemade pesto sauce, red onion, mozzarella, feta, avocado and fresh basil. I literally ate 3/4ths of it and felt no shame. We were offered the "TRI-TIP PIZZA" (which I noticed was not on the menu so it may have been made special for us but try asking if they could make it for you)- by this time I was so stuffed I couldn't eat another bite so I took it home and again the hubby loved it. However, I did try the sliced "TRI-TIP" from the grill....let's say it's safe to say I'm not a fan of red meat BUT this steak changed my mind. Tender with the right amount of barbecue sauce and coupled with the right bite of a side of the "GARLIC MASHED POTATOES"- We have a winner! Other standouts for the night were the "WHOLE ROASTED CAULIFLOWER" topped w/lemon Tahini & parsley- and the dessert options- homemade "CARROT CAKE" (the best I've ever had) and the "HEAVENLY CHEESECAKE" topped w/fresh blueberry sauce. Let's just say I had dessert for breakfast today and leave it at that. There were a couple of items we tried that were just "meh" (like the "COWBOY BEANS" and "BBQ CHOPPED SALAD") but nothing that couldn't be fixed with a little seasoning. The beans were more on the savory side cooked with the tri-tip....I prefer mine on the sweet side so that's just a preference issue but they did lack some salt or seasoning. Quick fix! The salad just seemed average, however, you can sub the lettuce for quinoa and you have a choice of protein that comes on the side so I'd try it again with different options. MY OVERALL RATING! A+- Customer Service: 10 Food: 10 Ambiance & Decor: 10 Ease of ordering: 10 Price Point: 10 Considering I just spent $92 on wings for Father's Day, I'd happily bring my clan here for 1/2 the cost and 10 times the service and quality of food. First thing: the line out the door was ridiculous, but what do you expect for a brand new restaurant in Rancho! The line actually went quickly, roughly a 15 minute wait. They didn't let you order until you had a table, causing a lot of people to wait outside in the heat. While I absolutely think this is a flaw in their system, they brought people out waters and menus to already look ahead. Great customer service! When we finally got inside, the restaurant had a great ambience and was very beautiful inside! Ordering: the cashier was extremely friendly and accommodating. We ordered our food, which was easy and the only issue was when ordering a brownie. The system said there were none left but we could clearly see 3 left, she contacted a manager for help. The manager said he would add the three to the system so she could place the order and then left her hanging. Staff seemed to be extremely out of sorts and trying to figure out what to do or there were 6 people behind the counter just chatting, lol. Food: we ordered a combination plate: tri tip and baby back ribs with garlic mashed potatoes, a half rib rack meal with Caesar salad, a petite pesto pasta, a carrot cake and brownie. The half rib rack was my dad's and he said it was good. My husband and I shared the combo and pasta. The pesto pasta was delicious, especially with the breadsticks. The mashed potatoes were on point however the tri tip and ribs were a little lack luster. While they were cooked to perfection they lacked flavor! I would not order those again. Very disappointed. Went to have dinner with friends and had a wonderful time. Then I ordered a salad to go. I got the BBQ chopped salad. I even asked when I got my order "are you sure that's how much tri tip that comes with the salad?" They said yea and told me I would have to purchase more. Well I get home and actually separate the meat from salad. This is completely wrong of them. This is such a small amount for a personal salad. Like they just put what was left. I understand they were busy but this is not worth the salad I paid for and not indicative of their quality that I'm used to read more
