Awesome. Took my friend here with his family(4+me) for the first time. I've visited other locations before. They got the stimulus deal. 1/2 tri tip, pizza and small salad (big enough for all of them). I got a 1/2 tri tip and large pasta with meat sauce (which is HUGE) We family styled everything and had left overs. We may have ordered a little to much but it was great. The manager said they messed up on the pizza so they made another and brought that out. This was added to the already huge amount of left overs we had as no one ate the extra pizza at the table. It was boxed and taken home. We spent about $68 in total making it about $13.60 a person. For the person that had mentioned it being expensive. We didn't think so. Especially considering sushi before we settle on trying this "new" place. My advice to any family going here order a la carte, you may find a better deal then what you bargain for. read more

I Have to say Stonefire Grill is DEFIANTLY a place I will be returning to!!! Despite the long line that goes by quickly. They are well organized, the employees are very attentive, management is on point, and don't get me started on the food #WOW the food is absolutely delicious!!!! On Saturday June 23rd 7 of is went to the Family and Friends Private event . First of all the interior looks amazing and beautiful, the food was off the charts since there was 7 of us we were able to try ALOT of different dishes everything we ate was so delicious and the Stonefire team were busy as bees and on point with everthing , We REALLY TRUELY love this place and the prices are reasonable. I would have left a five star because their food is really good for the price, however when I placed an order over the phone for the smallest salad they have they instead gave me the shareable one. The price is near double the price. After I took a bite I noticed that I accidentally ordered the wrong one so I ordered the correct one also told them the smallest size and they charged me for the shareable one again. Ugh so annoying. To order it was slow, not worth waiting in line. I ordered the all works 9" pizza. Not bad! Chicken tortilla soup, never came, asked for it 3 times and they finally brought it as we were done with our food. I told them to put it in a container to go. For a appetizer we ordered the carmelized onion dip. If you need a bowel cleaning this is what you order. My son in law ordered the steak sandwich and he liked it. Of course he likes any kind of food. From what I can see they specialize in salads because that's mainly what I can see everybody having. Mostly a senior crowd. Ok so stonefire grill used to be our GO TO spot to order food from. Not anymore! The last two times we have ordered from them: 1.) They "forgot" to put the breadsticks in 2.) Their portions have gotten Miniscule while prices have remained the same or increased 3.) Food quality has gotten poorer! We ordered sandwiches and the 3 people that ate them agreed they were so bland they tasted like a vending machine sandwich We also ordered Mac n cheese -also extremely bland Ordered the Cole slaw - not even edible so gross Potato salad tasted like something off the Jordanos truck The only thing we ordered that the quality (not quantity) stayed the same was the bbq chicken. We had a light lunch here, and won't be back. The breadsticks, which looked and sounded good, were so devoid of flavor that it was practically like pouring raw flour into my mouth. The Caesar salad was old, haggard romaine with barely any dressing and a total of three croutons. The barbecue chopped salad was only a little better. I had high hopes for the BBQ chicken, given that they supposedly specialize in BBQ here, but it was extremely bland and I'm pretty sure it wasn't even barbecued. Everything we had was very bland. We came in to eat at Firestone, Ventura. Jesus was our server. He was so AWESOME!!! He was a hard worker, polite, sweet, attentive, and a GREAT server. He was the BEST server ever. Jesus didn't deliver the food and then disappeared into oblivion like so many other servers do. He came back and made sure we had everything we needed. So my boyfriend and I tried to order online and it didn't work so kinda bummed that didn't work. Ordered our food over the phone. Got our order and then got home to find they forgot my au jus sauce for the French dip. I've been wanting a good French dip for a while and looking forward to some juicy delicious succulent meat but it was dry and no sauce to be found. Called to let them know my order was not correct and I was very upset. I wasn't about to drive back across town to get some sauce. Just not sure I'll be back to this location. Stonefire Grill in Ventura is so great! We've been coming here every Wednesday for the last few months and the food is so wonderful!!! We get the ribs and they are so juicy and tender. In my first visit to this place, where the beautiful decoration from the previous owners (Romano's Macaroni Grill) was destroyed, this place decor seems prepared for a all you can eat buffet. My wife and I live nearby and decided to try out this new resturaunt after receiving a coupon in the mail. We got a half tri-tip, small pizza, salad and garlic breadsticks. The breadsticks were quite good, I'm no expert in breadsticks but I do love me some garlic and when fresh these were very tasty. For the salad, we tried the Greek salad. I have to say this was the low point for us. To be fair, stonefire did serve a large fresh salad and my wife and I were both trying out a different flavor that we usually don't order. It wasn't to our palate but this could just be this particular salad, we will try something next time. Tri-tip, I was very pleasantly surprised by this. My wife ordered it well done because she likes her meats cooked waaaaaay too much, so I wasn't particularly looking forward to this. But I was surprised to find out that even cooked too much, the food was very tender and tasty. This was a well done tri-tip. Big props. The pizza, I believe we got a sausage and pepperoni. And I have to say, this was the best surprise of the meal. Living in California, I've come to expect that we don't have great pizza all over. Good places are few and far between. But if every pizza stonefire serves is as good as what we got, then we may have a go to pizza place within walking distance of home (for all those reading, pizza chief and tonys slice are the only other pizzas in ventura I can praise.) This thing crust pizza had a very good flavor to it, and really shocked me as I was honestly expecting a mediocre "Oh we also serve pizza" dish. All in all stonefire surprised me for what it is. If my score was completely honost, I would give it a 4/5, because I can't say it's a culinary masterpiece or anything. But I know for a new resturaunt, the review score on yelp is very important and I WOULD recommend people to try stonefire so I will give it a 5 for now. For complaints, when looking through the menu, most items did seem pricey to me. As I said we ate on a coupon and prices on the menu seemed a tad high. Honestly more of a psychological issue than anything else is $2 more per entree going to break my bank? No, but I and probably most people see price as the owners claim of the quality of the meal. Arrived Friday night to find out they were already sold out of the half chicken that was part of a special. So I substituted the half chicken for chicken breast. We also ordered a salad but they didn't have anymore Romain lettuce so we had to substitute for ice burg instead. Once I received my order I noticed I only got 1 chicken breast. One chicken breast to feed 4 adults. I ask the waitress if something was wrong with the order because i though I would get more than this. The manager came and told us that a half chicken only comes with one breast but I told him "it also comes with one leg one thigh and one wing" he didn't see it that way and even went to a register to look at the price difference. He cane back with a difference of .50 cents. I told him it was my first time going to that chain of restaurants and I was not impressed. I told him it was okay and we will finish out food we paid and tipped for but we would not be going back. He answered back with "I think we will get u to come back" I said nope. He returned later to check up on us and asked if everything was ok. I told him the food taste good but I was still upset. He then said how about I get u a gift card and I told him he could give the gift card to my brother that was eating with me. Because I already made up my mind I would not come back. He laughed a bit and said "oh I feel bad, I feel like we missed the mark" I told him "look u already got me for 75.00 for food I had to substitute, I really didn't get what I wanted, it's a Friday night and you guys ran out of food. The person that handles your food inventory should be fired. I'm okay thanks but no thanks." He understood than he offered me dessert. But i declined because I over heard another waitress mention they ran out of brownies. I didn't want to get into another fiasco. Bottom line: customer is always right. Don't try and make him look like an idiot by showing him a cost difference of 50 cents. U already offered him a gift card, just give him the other breast he wanted instead. How much was the gift card going to be for anyway .25 cents? I will just remember not to come back and tell everyone about my experience. I've been in several times as this location is very close to my office and my home. I can say that, so far, everything has been delicious. I'm a big fan of their cheesecake, probably more than my waistline would prefer. That said, there's only one drawback I've found. No matter when I go in, it's always very loud. The mostly open plan and acoustics pretty much guarantee that you're not going to find that "quiet corner". Not entirely their fault - it's hard to be THAT busy and not generate noise - but for someone who already has difficulty hearing, it sure makes it difficult to interact. read more

We went about 2pm on Saturday and walked in to a fairly short line... we were greeted by a cashier once it was our turn. She was very nice, patient and helpful with our million and 1 questions about the food and desserts! We ordered very similar as our first visit and then some... TriTip, Salmon, mashed potatoes, garden salad, some of their amazing bread sticks and a kids pepperoni pizza! Also grabbed a brownie and a carrot cake! ALL of the food was excellent!! TriTip was warm and tasty! Salmon was a generous portion! The kids pizza was delicious! And the dessert are worth grabbing everytime we are near by!! The tri tip was almost raw, the mashed potatoes were NOT mashed and were cold and my toddlers pasta was completely undercooked with oil and about a handful of cheese that was chunky.
