    Loco Moco
    Jessica P.

I cannot rave about this restaurant enough. I thoroughly enjoyed my food. The service was great and the ambiance is chill. My friend said his loco moco was bland though. I have the seafood Louie salad. Only thing I'll recommend for the salad is get the dressing on the side. It can be overpowering and I wanted to taste the seafood more. We also shared goat cheese wontons which came with a really yummy mango salsa.

Service- 5 Ambiance- 4 Food- 4 I visited Stonefish Grill yesterday. This restaurant is located in a very busy part of North Shore. This is another location I try to stay away from, but had to try this place! It's located in Haleiwa town near different shops and places to eat so navigating people on foot is the part of the headache of coming here. There were lots of space for parking right next to Stonefish grill when we were there. I was so happy to see they had many healthy choices on their menu. I decided to go with the Caesar's salad and my date chose the Prime Rib poke that was sooo good! What a great combo of protein, veggies and carbs. The Prime Rib Poke consisted of the house roasted prime, flash seared and cubed with sea asparagus, fresh tomatoes , white onions and soy based dressing topped with won-tons. Hey now!

    Macadamia Crusted Fresh Catch

Monday Night Football was in full effect this late afternoon. I walked into a full and friendly bar. Thirsty and hungry from my beach day Stonefish Grill satisfied my appetite. I highly recommend there Mojito and Macadamia Crusted Fresh Catch! Great vibe and you can eat inside or on there patio.

My family went here for dinner after my sister's rehearsal for her wedding. She's actually never been to this restaurant, but I think she was just going off the reviews. I have to say that my review of this place definitely doesn't match what others thought of it. The service was good, they were attentive. But the food wasn't good. I guess since there were so many of us, they had a special menu for us where we had a choice of three entrees. It was either the salmon, lamb, or chicken. And we had a few appetizers like the prime rib poke and the calamari. The appetizers weren't too bad. Our meal came with either a soup or a salad. Since I can't do milk I got the salad. Pretty much everyone else got the chowder. The salad was okay. The chowder was not eaten by most of the people on my table. My daughter said the chowder tasted funny and my dad said the same thing. Next came the entrees. I was really excited for my salmon. It looked good in the pictures with a big piece of salmon over white rice with bok choy. Well it came out but the salmon was really really dry. It was hard to eat because it was so dry tasting. I couldn't eat very much of it. And in the middle of dinner, a small brown roach crawled across the table. From that point, I was done eating. We didn't take home our leftover salmon.

I'm watching how much I eat and I decided to just stick with an appetizer. I ordered the calamari and it was completely scorched, dry and it felt like it's been frozen in a bag for a year. One comes to expect somewhat fresh seafood on an island and we've always had really great experience in this restaurant. So it's a shame that this wasn't freshly sliced and prepared but even frozen ones can be prepared correctly. These definitely tasted like they've been frozen for a long time and they definitely overcooked it whether it was frozen or not. Even after removing the batter, it still tasted awful. We love coming here, but I'm wondering if they've changed chefs. My dessert was amazing. It's pounded Taro with vanilla ice cream and coconut milk. Definitely share it if it's available because it's very sweet. My friend had no complaints about his salad. Service was great.

The food, atmosphere, and waiter are all top notch. The restroom however... When you go, ask for "Lance" to be your server. He is absolutely amazing and very attentive to food allergy challenges.if you have food allergies this is absolutely the place to eat. Everything is custom cooked.

Went for brunch with my husband today. Had the avocado croast. Only downside it could've been cut open and less lemon basil. Lemon basil was a bit over powered and due to the bread not being cut open it made it seem so dry. Minor fixes. Love the staff, super friendly. Breakfast days at stonefish are my favorite. Good food and get to listen to Jinna perform. She's one of my Ohana's favorites as she reminds of Amy winehouse. We will miss these places when we move to the mainland. Sunday mornings for breakfast is perfect as it's not too busy as everyone is out surfing.

Great drinks and awesome patio! We had apps and drinks, which were good. I really liked the tofu, but the oysters weren't special. Not a lot of flavor and pretty small. Every bite had hard pieces of shell. Our server was kind and attentive, though!

    Prime rib

Lovely outdoor seating. On main road but intimate and cozy. A live music guitar/singer came out and was just right. I had the prime rib which was wonderful. Very large - enough for 2. Well cooked and the veggies were great as well. I had some raspberry vodka drink which I would love to have again and again. Very refreshing and perfect. Nice service.

My husband and I were looking to support a local business post Kona low flooding and wanted more of a sit down experience for lunch. This spot had a great vibe, excellent service, and good food. I had a crab cake salad, which was good--nice sized crab cakes, but a little too cakey if you know what I mean; I like mine mostly with crab and not too much filler. My lilikoi kamikaze drink was amazing though! My husband had the katsu-style fish sandwich and fried, which he enjoyed--the fries were yummy too. My daughter had the seafood chowder which was tasty, but I think could have used something to brighten it. All in all it was a great lunch spot!

Bottom picture is the prime rib we had in February which was delicious! Top picture is what we had yesterday and it was not good.
    Megan M.

In February we came here and had prime rib for the first time and it was delicious and cooked so well. We decided it was our new place for prime rib. It was tasty and the price was reasonable. I was craving steak so we decided to head to Stonefish for dinner yesterday. We've eaten here since February but hadn't had the prime rib since. We arrived and it was a tad early for dinner so the place wasn't crowded. We sat outside which was nice because the weather was great. Lance was our server and he told us the specials but we told him we were there for the prime rib. He told us the minimum temperature yesterday was Medium. We prefer medium rare, and thats what we had in February, but we thought Medium would be fine so we ordered it. My boyfriend joked that someone must have left it in the oven too long which is why Medium was the only option. We also ordered onion rings and while they were good, they were overdone. It took 15-20 minutes to get our meal so not a long wait. The meat definitely didn't look appealing but we dug in. I really tried to like it and even told my boyfriend it wasn't bad but the more I ate it the more I disliked it. It was more done than medium and I'm not used to prime rib being put on the grill before serving. It really was a stark contrast between the one we had in February and the one we had yesterday. We even discussed if we even wanted to try it again in the future since it was so bad this time. Just not sure if it was an off night or if we just got lucky in February. Since all our food was overdone maybe it was a fluke. We'll likely try another location in Haleiwa that offers prime rib. On a positive note the weather was great and Lance was a really good server.

The food here is enough to satisfy you! The portions are pretty large. The Miso Salmon was pretty good, but basic. Nothing crazy, i would probably try another dish when i'm back. The Seafood Chowder was pretty good! The service was amazing! Everyone was so sweet and attentive! Please make sure to tip them well :) The place was very beautiful. There's outdoor seating and indoor seating! such a beautiful place.

I would like to watch the Super Bowl, is TV available and are there enough screens so everyone is not seated on top of each other?

The only tv's are at the bar (3 I think).and not a ton of seats. If you click on the interior pictures you can see the space and tv's.

We ate breakfast here 5 years ago and LOVED the crab cake Benedict. We loved it so much, we came back a few days later and were told it's only a weekend dish. We're flying back out next month and want to come by - is this still a weekend only dish?

The crab cake Benedict is served Friday-Mondays! (: 8am-11am.

Aloha! My family are planning to have a get together at your restaurant.…

For breakfast: Avocado Toast, Pancakes, Malasada Pancakes, Acai Bowl, Yogurt Bowl, Fruit Bowl, Vegetarian Burrito (ask to omit the cheese and egg on the burrito- maybe sub in avocado smash and salsa)…

    Is the restaurant dog friendly?

Dogs are allowed on the outside area (patio). Service dogs for sure, but for regular dogs as long as they don't bark or cause a disturbance it should be fine! I would ask for an outside table when going!

Is there a happy hour and if so what are the days and times?

    Weekdays 4 p.m.-6 p.m. and 8 p.m.-10 p.m.bar only

What time is breakfast served till?

    11am

What does the happy hour include? Is it just drinks or are appetizers included in that as well?

4-6 pm and 8-10 pm on weekdays. $5 off cocktails and 2$ off of draft beer and wine.

Does this allow small well behave dogs like 5 lbs out in lanai area?

What's on the menu? Are the pics of the menu the whole menu? I saw a pic of kids spaghetti but didn't see it on th pic of the menus posted Also the websight listed goes…

They have a couple of items off the menu for kids.

It was the perfect creamy addition to the fresh shrimp and fish ceviche. Service was fast and the workers were kind. There is plenty of parking in the back and a restroom for customers, you just have to ask them to unlock it for you. Not much room for dining in if you're in a big group but it's a super laid back spot close to the food trucks. Another plus is that it's located right next to Jenny's Shrimp Truck, which in my opinion beat out all the other shrimp trucks in the area.

I get that restaurants can be relatively busy, being that I've worked in a kitchen myself, I understand the stress of making sure every customer gets the experience they want and the attention we deserve. I'm normally not the biggest fan of shrimp, so I don't usually gravitate towards it. But I wish I wasn't so stubborn because the few bites I had of both the Butter Garlic Shrimp and Spicy Garlic Shrimp completely changed my mind. Since I'm not the biggest spice person, I preferred the butter garlic option. The shrimps aren't peeled, but they're butterflied, which makes them much easier to peel. The shell itself is packed with flavor, though, so I recommend sucking it before removing. The rice was flavorful, and the salad on the side was refreshing. I simply regret not ordering a plate of shrimp for myself. I'm a lazy person and don't like peeling shrimp, but this was worth peeling for.

BACKGROUND ON JENNY'S SHRIMP:…read more Jenny's Shrimp Truck began as a small, family-run business with a simple mission: to serve the freshest, most flavorful shrimp on the North Shore. Jenny, the founder, was inspired by the rich seafood culture of Hawaii and wanted to share her love for local flavors with the community. Armed with a secret garlic butter recipe passed down through generations, she set out to create something truly special. In the early days, Jenny's food truck was nothing more than a converted van with a makeshift kitchen, parked along the scenic roads of Haleiwa. She focused on using locally sourced shrimp, ensuring that every plate was as fresh as possible. Word quickly spread about the delicious shrimp dishes, and soon, both locals and tourists were lining up to get a taste. JENNY'S SHRIMP TRUCK MISSION STATEMENT: A Taste of Hawaiian Paradise Nestled in the heart of Haleiwa, Hawaii, Jenny's Shrimp Truck is a must-visit destination for seafood lovers looking for a true taste. BACKGROUND ON VISIT: This was part of our Dole Plantation/Haleiwa tour that we signed up for. Lunch wasn't provided so this was on our own dime. CREDIT CARDS: They're accepted, but they tack on a transaction fee. RESTROOM: There's a restroom next door. AMBIANCE/DECOR: Not much ambiance, but they do have tables and chairs setup in their covered patio. SERVICE: Service was alright. Didn't take long for our food to come out. FOOD OF CHOICE: Garlic shrimp plate which came with rice and a slice of pineapple. Enjoyed the shrimp. It was quite tasty and easy to peel. I had a nice time eating the rice with their signature garlic sauce. SHRIMP TRUCK FOR THOUGHT: I would love to come back to have it again.

And it's not to say that I didn't like the poke bowl I had at Beach House. (I mean, what's not to love about about digging into some fresh ahi when you're literally feet away from the beach?) It's just that I had the otherworldly experience of eating from Foodland's poke bar the night prior to my lunch here and I couldn't help comparing it to the legendary Foodland. That said, the poke was still delicious and its runner-up status didn't distract from the rest of my meal. The spicy ahi wonton was a standout starter -- the shallot, scallion, tobiko, and chili aioli approach they have for the ahi here works better for the fish than their "beach house special poke sauce" in my opinion. Top it all off with a plantation iced tea: an island version of the Arnold Palmer that replaces the customary lemonade with tropical pineapple juice. We came in around 2:30 pm so we essentially had the dining room to ourselves after the lunch rush, if you don't count the cute zebra dove bird that walked around below the table halfway into our meal, trying to see if there were any stray crumbs it could peck at. Alas, we had deemed the food too good.

It was our third day in Hawaii, and I still hadn't eaten poke by then. At that point, I just wanted…read morepoke. I wanted scoops of fresh fish + rice + a couple Hawaiian classics like macaroni salad or whatever. After driving around for most of the morning, I was hungry, and Poke For The People was less than a three-minute walk from where we parked. I immediately walked in to place in order. The line was pretty short, and my poke bowl was assembled in less than a couple minutes. 2 CHOICE POKE SUSHI RICE - 20.95 + shoyu ahi and shoyu furikake salmon poke (+0.75) + two sides: edamame, seaweed salad + two toppings: fried garlic, furikake I felt like this was more of a Chipotle-style, fast-casual poke bowl than the kind of poke I had been hoping for. The fish itself was very fresh, but there just wasn't much of it, and the rice, sides, and sauces ended up overpowering it. It was a bit pricy, and I didn't eat more than half of the rice because there was just too much of it. If you're looking for more of a fast-casual poke spot with more room for customization, Poke For The People is a decent option. I was just hoping for something more fish-forward and closer to the simple poke + rice meal that I had in mind.
