I am currently sitting here awaiting for my waitress to take my check... This place would get 5 stars, however our waitress was non existent. She never came back after she dropped off our food. I had to get another staff member to get her back over to give us the check... I have now been waiting 10 minutes for her to come back to take my card. I would have loved to give a 5 star review but things just fell short tonight. I stopped in for dinner with my daughter. We were seated right away and had our choice of sitting inside or out. We chose inside. The waitress came to the table promptly bringing a bottle of water. Somehow the water splashed out and ended up all over the table. She left the table and never came back to wipe it up. Thankfully they have cloth napkins, I wiped it up myself. My daughter ordered the sweet potato chick pea burger and was very happy with her meal. I ordered the fish tacos and while they were very tasty, I was looking for more, two small tacos on a tray looked more like an app than a meal. A few corn chips and maybe some beans would have made it so much better. If it weren't for the French fries that my daughter shared, I would have left hungry. read more

My favorite place to eat, drink, and stay for a vacation in Maine! This place is a hidden treasure. It is right across from the beach, the rooms are big, clean, and comfy, and the restaurant downstairs is my favorite in York. Amazing cocktails and my favorite lobster roll in town. We visited Stone's Throw for lunch for the majority of our vacation. The setting couldn't be more picturesque- Long Sands beach providing an amazing view. The cocktails were well made and served by a very professional staff. Everything we tried for our luncheon repast was some of the best, if not THE best we had in York. Gorgeous location with great food and super friendly staff. We sat on their upper deck to the left of the main building and we able to enjoy the ocean view and people watch. I had the painkiller and my wife at the blue mule. So delicious and refreshing. We split a bunch of apps but our favorites were the buffalo shrimp and the bang bang broccoli. We will definitely be back soon. Our only downside was parking but don't mind enjoying a walk along the beach to get there. read more

Fantastic. We had dinner on their patio, overlooking York Beach. They handed us cozy blankets to keep the late fall chill away while we enjoyed a superb dinner of a lobster roll and fish tacos. Place sucks. Rude rude rude. Waited an hr and a half for a table which I have no problem with as its a tourist trap and should be expected in August. Once sat we were missing 2 chairs and a high chair for my 1 year old. Was told, sorry we dont have any free chairs so would need to stand till some came available? Wtf really. Let me have my family stand and eat while we wait for chairs to come available? Wasnt like oh we are gonna get them right now it was like might not have them for a while. On another note we never got to eat as the either the owner who sucks at life or the manager which the owner should fire made us leave cause I had a beer which came from our room which was attached to the restaurant and owned by the same ppl. I get it that cant happen so I gave him my beer as i just wasn't thinking as we litterally walked out of our room and into the restaurant. He threw a baby fit like a 2 year old girl which led into alot of vulgar comments as now its really late and I had to find another place with 3 children at night time. Save your time go somewhere else. Was able to have a couple drinks while waiting and those sucked too, clearly having alcohol in an alcoholic beverage doesn't happen here. Should have known better. We were "that couple" who brought the baby. Thank goodness, he was super well behaved. That said, we still needed a couple special items (wipes, napkins, spoon ) and Maddie, our server, was awesome. For apps we got the fried guacamole and chedd chips...both better than 5 stars. Super tasty and well spiced. We both got drinks, a blueberry vodka cosmo and a breakwater, both in excellent proportion. For dinner, my wife got the steamers, and I got the scallops over mashed and some sort of spiced decadent sauce and salad. the flavors...I truly hadn't tasted anything like it before. We got our seat right on the Street side, with a view of the beach... with the flavors alone this place is 4 stars, with the extra star for the excellent service. Was really excited to try this place. Had my service dog with us so we wanted to sit outside and the hostess was very rude and told us our dog had to sit on the sidewalk! That he wasn't allowed on the deck portion of the patio. Even the other guests were shocked. Definitely NOT dog friendly. read more

Fantastic view and food (and delicious Mojito's :) AMAZING MANAGEMENT : our parties bill encountered a credit card glitch - ending up triple charging. The place is cool looking, however, the food that we had was lackluster. The chips were crispy but the topping were sparse and not really flavorful. The Lobster Flatbread had a lot of lobster that I picked off and ate. Same as described above with the flavors. The scallops were perfectly cooked and so were the greens but it was soooooo salty. In town with wife, my son, and his friend. This place was such a nice location right on the beach -- actually, right across the street. We had eaten here before when it was under old ownership. Upon arrival the hostess looked at us like we were doing something wrong "4?" she finally said after just glaring at a few weird seconds. "Yes, 4" I replied. "Outside, or inside?" she dreamily asked; "Outside, please" I said. After being seated, we sat there for 20 minutes watching no less than 2, maybe even 3 hostesses and waitresses walking by us. Very friendly staff, great food and great atmosphere. My wife got a lobster roll and she was very happy, it had great presentation, I got Sriracha chicken tenders and they were above average(tender, good sauce). For drinks the sangria was great and they had a nice selection of local beers as well as some of the obvious national beers, my wife had some white wine(she's boring). Overall it was a great experience and we will be back! read more

Menu was appealing, though only two options for kids meal (chicken fingers and grilled cheese - which had way too much bread to cheese). I had the fish and chips which was a good portion and yummy. My husband and a friend got the tacos, which are very small portions and don't come with a side. My husband also got the arugula corn and bacon salad which was delicious. Another friend got the lobster roll, portion was decent. Food and drink menu have a nice variety, though overall I think you're paying for atmosphere. What a jewel of a find. we were told by a local about Stones Throw and decided to try it. when we arrived the staff was so nice and helpful and the food was amazing. from that special broccoli and asparagus to the lackadaisical lobster and the drinks- all were amazing. the location is literally right next to the beach and we sat there watching the fog roll in as people were playing on the beach. it was just beautiful. our waitress could not have been better. the whole experience was 5 stars so if you are visiting Ogunquit i highly recommend going 10 minutes south and you wont regret it. read more

The website states closes at 8:30. This is suppose to be the last seating time. As a local resident I was extremely disappointed to bring my guest from France there Tuesday August 24 at 8:10 pm. Although there was no wait and empty tables, the hostess very rudely told us, I'm going to seat anyone more tonight we are closed. I truly wished the owner and owners children had been present to see and hear the rudeness. if they are so understaffed in the kitchen (which is what I presume). why were the hostess snd 2 waitresses hanging at the hostess station chatting? My husband and were vacationing for our birthdays - 8/26 & 8/27 and staying on York's Long Sands Beach. The weather was perfect so we decided to walk to dinner on my birthday and Stones Throw was about .6 miles from our hotel. The front of the restaurant opens up so that you feel like you are outside no matter where you sit. Our server, Michele, helped me decide to have the Sangria which was delicious and refreshing, not too sweet. My husband ordered the Steakin' a sandwich and I ordered the Kale-ee-see salad with seared tuna. Both were delicious! My husband raved about the tender meat and great bread, plus the side of dilly beans. My tuna was tender and cooked perfectly and the salad was fresh and full of flavor. In fact, our meal was so great that we went back the next day for his birthday. This is a rare occurrence as we like to try as many different places as we can when we travel. The second night he had the rib-eye which was tender and flavorful, I had the Naked Nicoise, again with the seared tuna - fabulous does not do it justice. Michael, our server and the bartender, advised me to have some delicious cocktails. It was nice that Michele came over to our table to say hi as she recognized us from the night before. We will definitely return the next time we visit Maine and I hope that Michael and Michele will be there. read more
