I had the Center cut Filet Mignon with scalloped potatoes, Fried Steak Rolls, small round dinner rolls and Carrot Cake. Not being from the area I didn't realize the steak rolls were a meal in themselves. lol I'm so glad I didn't know because they were DELICIOUS! And the filet mignon was so tender. It practically melted in my mouth. There was so much food that I have leftovers for several days. I haven't even tried the cake yet. My friend knew I was craving an awesome steak so he brought me to Stoney River. We had drinks at the bar and then enjoyed one of the best steak dinners I've had since before the Pandemic! Service was totally on-point; our waiter was welcoming, efficient, and friendly :-) Both of us (following our waiter's advice) went with the Legendary Fillet entree. When they came our steaks were beautifully marbled, thick, juicy, and cooked to perfection exactly as requested (medium-rare). They were amazingly flavorful - apparently they're cured in (of all things) coffee!? Far be it from me to argue with success ;-) We both ordered different sides and shared. Literally everything at this place is delicious. I mean EVERYTHING! I haven't tried anything I did not like. The steaks are soooooo good! Affordable and full of flavor no matter how you order your steak. I usually get the ribeye. The Mac n cheese, sweet potato casserole and broccoli are my faves. The devil eggs, steak rolls and those little bread biscuits they bring out before your meal are amazing. The wine and bar selection is pretty good. I really like Stoney River one of my favorite steak restaurant. What I notice on my last visit the salad was definitely smaller and the price the bowl definitely need to be full and stacked. I did have a incident with part of basting bristles on my steak and they replaced it and when I ask for dressing for salad and cooking sauce to reheat my steak.. They are good with packing your food up and I trust salad dressing and steak butter was in bag and it not. What I do like is my carrot cake was extra big. read more

We are frequent regulars of Stoney River as it's our favorite steak place in Smyrna. We had the best service we've ever had here recently from Ariel B! I will be requesting her from now on. This location is attached to Cumberland Mall with a spacious parking lot. You can reserve beforehand online to make sure you have a spot on busy nights. They offer delicious rolls before dinner with sweet honey butter that is hard not to fill up on. The filet mignon cannot be beat in terms of flavor and tenderness. They offer giant loaded baked potatoes, potatoes au gratin, whipped potatoes, and whipped sweet potatoes. The few times I've tried items that were not steak on the menu (trout, burger, etc.) I have been slightly disappointed and wished I got steak. You just can't beat their steaks. It was a cold friday evening, the place was packed and all was well especially once my ribeye arrived perfectly cooked. The martini with the blackberry is delicious, a must try if your eating here. There was so much to love about this restaurant. I'm not sure if it's a five start restaurant or not but it definitely should be... I stumbled across this place by accident, was gonna eat at Buffalo Wild Wings but decided to leave and go somewhere else... When I walked in the ambiance was extremely chill. Made a reservation for 6 people for 7pm on a Saturday. Walked in and the place was extremely busy, but it worked out perfectly that our table was ready. The server came right away with waters and greeted us and gave us a chance to look at the menu for a drink order. I'm not much of a wine drinker, but this night, I wanted a glass of wine. I asked the server about some specific wines, but he wasn't super well versed so he called in the manager, Christian, to come over and answer my questions. He was great and suggested a red blend and I was absolutely happy with the recommendation. I had the French onion soup to start and it had a good flavor, but a tad bit salty for my liking. I ordered the salmon for my entree which came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. It was a great choice. The salmon was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. Potatoes were over cooked so we're just mush. My Strip was very tough even though cooked to medium, and also had absolutely no flavor. It was very disappointing. We had a feast in here! The ambience of this restaurant is what you would expect on a nice steakhouse; it is more upscale than traditional steakhouse chains like Longhorn but not as much as Marcel. Service was really good. They are not practicing social distancing seating but they did sit us on the last table per our request, more than 6 feet apart from anyone else. The server quickly came to us to ask what we would like to drink, and brought us some of the best pregame rolls I've had (they're more like tender donuts than bread) with some butter (honey butter I believe). My wife had some of the lobster bisque soup and she liked it. If you like sweet stouts and haven't tried the Crumbling beer from Orpheus Brewing (local Atlanta brewery) you definitely must. Its made of Imperial Stout with Graham Crackers, Vanilla, and Cinnamon flavors! Super delicious! I ordered the Ribeye Steak (14 oz?) because I like the more flavorful fatty steak and it was very good. It comes with some garlic butter on top and I got the parmesan fries the side option. My wife got the Trio Medallion which is 3 medallions with different toppings (encrusted blue cheese, asparagus and mushrooms). My wife loved the blue cheese one but said it was all good. She also had the potatoes au gratin which were nice. For dessert we got (and we should not have... portions are very generous and we were full by then) the Blondie Chocolate Chip Cookie. The cookie was HUGE on an iron cast skillet (remember when that used to be fancy?). The cookie was delicious, has pecans, chips and vanilla ice cream, but were too full and left some. Just got finished dining here! Our server was Dean. He took excellent care of my husband and I! We went during off hours (4:00 pm on a Thursday), and there was only 3 tables full and a couple at the bar. We ordered the spinach dip, the cowboy ribeye, and the New York strip. The soft pillowy poppyseed bread came with our meal and honestly, it is amazing. All of the steaks were medium rare. And it had a nice crust to it. I really do recommend their bread because it really is *chef's kiss* good. And per Dean's suggestion, trying it with the chocolate really made it into a donut. I'm new in town so my home girl suggested this spot. Me and two of my homegirls dined in. As soon as we walked in we were greeted quickly. I host was very friendly and welcoming. As we sat down the waitress came to the table less than 30secs which i noticed and liked. She then suggested her favorites. For starters we started off with alcoholic drinks. Hosted a business dinner for my customers and was embarrassed at how bad the service was! We waited for 20 minutes just to get water and drinks! The appetizers were good but no salt in the spinach dip! Bread rolls and butter were excellent! Guests barely ate their ribeye, which was a surprise! Asparagus was uncooked, smoked Gouda Mac and cheese had eggs and I was served despite telling that I was allergic to eggs. I could barely eat the mashed potatoes. There's plenty of free parking and the mall has valet for a fee. I made reservations through Opentable and we were seated immediately. The restaurant is very dim and has a cozy feel. Our waiter greeted us promptly and acknowledged my bf's birthday which was a nice touch. My bf was indecisive about a beer on the menu and the waiter graciously brought him a sample. We decided to start off with an order of their steak rolls. The rolls were filled with generous amounts of Philly cheesesteak style meat, onions and cheese and served with a ranch dipping sauce and chimichurri sauce. These were a hit! For entrees, I got the ribeye steak with a loaded baked potato and he got the New York strip with fries. My steak was cooked medium as I requested and was very flavorful. The baked potato was huge and topped with sour cream, cheese, bacon and green onions. I also ordered the "El Matador" cocktail from their seasonal menu that was refreshing and delicious. I really appreciate that their entrees come with a side. Most steakhouse's sides are a la carte and can be pretty pricey. We both enjoyed our time here and look forward to returning. read more

Jada was my server and she was excellent. She portrayed a very welcoming and courteous demeanor. She was sure to obtain the details of my order and ensured that it was correct before bringing it to me for dining. She, also, kept me updated on the progress of my order while I waited and ensured I had plenty of rolls with butter. When my steak arrived, I started smashing the Gouda mac n cheese (which was delicious). Jada politely asked me to check the temp of my steak to ensure it was to my liking. The bartender didn't ask why didn't I eat the food , did I want it recooked or something new from the menu . She took it away and just gave me the bill. Food took a while, but since it was our anniversary, I used the time to converse. I ordered two appetizers - deviled eggs spinach dip. Neither was remarkable. In fact the eggs tasted as if they'd been in the fridge for awhile. I found the food mediocre at best. There concept of a loaded baked potato was a lot of butter. Cheese, chives, bacon bits? My steak was cooked to order. My wife had a salad. My Long Island Icetea was presented as "top shelf" - it wasn't! I've ordered the same drink at other restaurants, so I know the difference.
