We went here to celebrate my birthday this year. When we walked in we were greeted by a friendly hostess and before long the waiter came by to take drink orders. We had a few questions and he answered all questions in a friendly and knowledgeable way so we all felt confident in our choices. We started with the artichoke dip which quite frankly noobe likes. It had chunks of garlic in it that just didn't taste nice, yet without them the dip would have had no taste. Two people in my party ordered French onion soup (I was one) and the soup was hit bad but very winey tasting. If you like the one flavor you will love this soup but for me it was not a hit. The steaks were absolutely the best though. I ordered the coffee cured filet and it was delicious. As my side I chose au gratin potatoes which also were delicious. My daughter got the filet Oscar and the first time it came out it wasn't cooked though. It was quickly taken back and replacedbhy a steak at the two she had ordered. This literally was the only service relates problem we had. Another person had the bone in ribeye which he loves and both kids got a kids steak which was a generous portion for the kids. My daughters parmesan fries were really good and the carrots in brown butter hit the mark with some of my party while others didn't care for them, but this was not an issue due to the number of people and the various sides we all got, everyone was happy to switch or share. Our waiter acknowledged my birthday right away as when making a reservation it does ask if we are celebrating an occasion. I was also given a piece if chocolate cake, this was unexpected and as we had brought cupcakes I think my whole party ended up nibbling on the cake lol. When we lit by candles I was wishes a happy birthday by there nearby waiters who were also very attentive to their tables I have to add this simply because I noticed and it was great to see such good service. Overall, I enjoyed this meal and restaurant and would recommend it to others. I would go back for a special occasion but given that it is pricey it will not be a place I go frequently. In todays world of prefab,no prep,nuked food restaurants, more often than not, one is underwhelmed (and even left fuming that you spent the amount you did for what was effectively a frozen dinner!) That is NOT Stoney River who served one the most spectacular meals I've had in recent memory! (As with any restaurant experiences may vary depending on various factors including what one orders) Tonight It just all came together in a good way! First the dilemma...... salad or appetizer (sometimes both but didn't want to overshadow the main course) Appetizer It was, and wow were we glad we chose that route! The Tuna Stack = Ahi, avocado, mango, Sriracha aïoli, and sesame wontons (Think tasty house made chips to scoop up the flavorful magic!) A word about Ahi: It's no secret that scoring some REALLY fresh Ahi can be a challenging (especially in the midwest!) This is without a doubt the freshest Ahi I have had, bar none! (See Pic) Zero "fishy flavor" and the avocado mango aïoli complemented it perfectly! Bread: (my weakness) Little Puffy Yeast Rolls with honey butter=tasty! She decided on the 14oz Ribeye Nice char topped with herb butter For me the "The Legendary" The Signature Cut=a 12oz Center Cut Filet (*Add a side of the Au Poivre sauce) Her ribeye was good topped with herb butter But we both agree that Legendary is truly a legend! Why you ask? A Top Quality Filet with a nicely seasoned/flavorful crust on the outside, a little pink on the inside cooked perfectly as to not dry it out! It was also topped with the herb butter (which it really didn't need) We both loved dipping in the House made Au Poivre sauce which is a fantastic blend of (according to our server) a panned cream sauce with peppercorn and brandy What a Nice addition! (I would add a side of that again!) Side: Au Gratin Potatoes Very thin slices of potato layered with cheese/cream goodness=some of the best around! Dessert..... So let's start by saying I booked a reservation a week in advance for a group of 10 for a birthday celebration. They answered very kindly and even sent reminders as too when to arrive. Now it was booked at 8 pm for a party of ten. My ten arrived around 8:15 pm and we were seated right away! We had the pleasure of having Madeline and Donnika as our servers. And they were good. I would say they took our order around 8:30 pm and we got our food no later than 9 pm! Everything was amazing! I got the New York steak, Mac and cheese and caramelized mashed potatoes. Once again another great experience at Stoney River. They do a great job with food quality and service. We haven't had a bad meal or service yet. Sami (SP?) did an outstanding job. Friendly and gave great recommendations. I went with the Draper (a unique take on an old fashioned) or two. First time there. There is plenty of parking and right off the highway. The place is pretty dark, music is pretty loud. Was seated on the side not by the bar. There was a strong semi-cleaning fluid type smell, something I'm more used to smelling at casual restaurants. It wasn't bleach or Lysol but had notes of that smell, mixed with something else. Was there for brunch and leaning towards the coffee steak but didn't pull the trigger. Complimentary biscuits. Good but she didn't indicate what the jam was so didn't try it for fear of allergies. Found out at the end it was strawberry. The buttery was good. Caesar salad. Fresh. Tasty. Nice croutons. The cheese had a few larger chunks but other than that it was good. The steak and biscuits were ok. Steak thinly sliced with some pink. Had 5 mini sliders. The first one was good. The second one the meat was a bit tough. It was seared tenderloin. It came with a ton of fries which were crispy and tasty. A tad heavy on salt but overall good. The place was pretty empty, perhaps not known for a brunch place yet. We dined at the Stoney River Steak House in Chesterfield late evening on September 17, 2024. The overall experience was excellent. The food was good, the service was excellent, and the ambiance very inviting, comfortable and relaxing. The entire restaurant was clean and very well maintained. Prices were inline with what you might expect for an upper-end steakhouse. I was personally impressed with the work ethic and level of efficiency amongst the entire staff. Every single person in the restaurant was working hard and moving quickly to serve the patrons. From the hostess to the servers and kitchen staff, everyone we saw was friendly and attentive. As a bonus, the beignet/little donuts are OUTSTANDING! NOTE: The one thing that could be improved on; the steak on the Famous Steak & Biscuits was a little too well done for my taste. Recommenation: Prepare the steak medium as a default and ask the patron if medium meets their preference. Our family enjoyed a delicious meal on New Year's Eve at Stoney River. Some ordered the coffee steak, some the strip steak, one had chicken, one had the steak salad, and one had a salad and shrimp appetizer as their meal...a variety of choices and everyone liked their meal. I had the strip steak, loaded baked potato, and wedge salad! WOW! Doesn't get any better! Our server was attentive without being overbearing and we appreciated his service. The restaurant was full and somewhat noisy, but all seemed to be enjoying their meals and time together. My cousin recommended this restaurant years ago. She went on and on about how good the food was and how nice of a place it was, so I made us a reservation. Valentine's Day is on a weird day this year, so we decided to celebrate it on the weekend prior. We had a reservation for 8:30, which was pretty late, but it was all that was available. The hostess was very friendly and she greeted us when we walked in. We were then lead to our seats, I suppose by the manager, she was friendly as well. A few minutes later, our server came to introduce herself and she was very nice and knowledgeable of the menu. I was very shocked when she told us she was new! Now to the good stuff... I was craving a white fish, but they only had pecan crusted so I went with the lobster tail instead. It came with one side so I chose a baked potato with sour cream and butter. For starters, I ordered the house salad. The salad was yummy! Best ranch I've ever tasted! The croutons were a bit too hard, but the ranch and other ingredients saved the salad. My husband had the Caesar salad and he said it was good too. She brought out some fresh bread and let me tell you, those rolls were PHENOMENAL! My husband and I truly enjoyed them. After a short wait, the main course came. The lobster was delicious and the baked potato was huge and very tasty. My husband got a NY strip steak with parmesan fries and he said they were awesome. He was right, I tasted them. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of the food. We were so hungry that we just dug right in. No time for a photo shoot. Halfway through our meal, the manager stopped by to check on us. He too was very courteous and made us feel very welcomed. Amazing customer service Stoney River!!! Dinner was a solid 10 out of 10. It was excellent! As we were on our way out, we noticed a functional fire place with some nice chairs in front, so we decided to sit for a few minutes. The ambiance was beautiful and very relaxing and romantic. We actually took a picture in front of the fire place (see below). We had a family dinner at Stoney River Steakhouse on a weeknight to celebrate my Grandmother's 94th birthday. There were nine of us. We had a reservation and were seated promptly and drink orders were taken as our party trickled in. We ordered fairly quickly and while the food didn't come out quickly it came out in a timely manner. The entire experience ended up being two hours and forty five minutes. Somewhere in the middle of the whole thing the pacing just went out the window and it was like we were forgotten about. It was a very long night. I ordered the Steak Au Poivre (filet medallions finished in a peppercorn and brandy cream demi-glace.) It came with whipped potatoes and broccoli and I asked for just whipped potatoes. I ordered this medium rare and it was closer to medium well but it was still tasty. Everyone else ordered various steaks and I think there was one person who ordered the grouper. Everyone seemed reasonably happy. I know staffing is tough right now but when you are paying a steakhouse price you expect a certain level of service. I hadn't been here in years and I'd certainly give it another chance but wouldn't go near it on a weekend or holiday. read more

This is a beautiful and pretty elegant venue. The fireplace was nice to sit next too and the bar was nice to sit at! Six of us had a 7:45 reservation for Saturday evening but my date and I got there at 7 and we checked-in at the desk and the lady acknowledged the reservation as we wanted a cocktail before the others arrived. One couple does not drink and the other gave up cocktails for Lent. The other couples rolled in and each of them checked in upon arrival. We then sat at the fireplace and waited and waited until one in our group asked how our table was coming. They were told, "we didn't know you were all here!" Mind you, we ALL CHECKED IN UPON ARRIVAL ? Went to the table and gave our beverage order which took a loooong time. Our server took a loooooong time to get our dinner order. But then he came back as he forgot what one person ordered. Oh, "sorry but we're out of baker potatoes" when the food was BROUGHT to the table. Geez, send someone to Schnucks when you see you're about out of inventory. Not to hard to do... Food came and my asparagus got dumped promptly into my lap. Ordered SR food from Door Dash. (second time in a cpl months!). We shared everything. Ordered Coffee Fillet, Baked Potato, House Salad with BC on side, and 4-Layer Choc Cake (piece). My wife and I went in for my birthday/15yr wedding anniversary and as we were seated the hostess gave me a bday card and us a card for our anniversary. I've been to several restaurants and have spent about the same to $20-$30 less and it's not even close to the value you receive here. Came here in December for a family dinner. It's not very appealing being attached to a hotel. They told us they couldn't make any of their specialty whiskey drinks on their menu. The hostess was warm and welcoming, seating us in a timely manner even though we were early for our reservation. Our server was Hannah, who was knowledgable and experienced. She recommended the Bella Glos Las Alturas Pinot and the H3 Merlot, which I sampled. I ended up deciding on the Las Alturas Pinot and ordered a bottle for the table. This was a wonderful recommendation and paired very well with our steaks. We ordered the steak rolls as our appetizer, which was a 10/10; the spicy ranch sauce was to die for. I wanted to give a 5, but the sides just wouldn't let me. 1st visit here after years on my Bookmarks list. Starters.. the whiskey shrimp followed by lobster Bisque. Both of these were amazing!!! The whiskey shrimp have a cream sauce atop a flavorful slice of garlic bread. Oh my! These were wonderful, but beware not to get full off this dish. It'll be hard. The Lobster Bisque was chocked full of lobster, very creamy with a depth of flavor. The soup came out at just the right temperature. For the main dish, salmon oscar. Now, this isn't on the menu directly. You must order the naked salmon and add the oscar option. It's well worth upcharge. The salmon was perfectly cooked with an ample amount of crab meat. Those sides...well.. the spinach had a lemony flavor that just didn't work for me and the augratin could have been cooked just a bit longer for my taste.
