I am SO UPSET with our experience and the money we wasted. Growing up this was my favorite restaurant so I decided to take my friend here last night just for old times sake clearly this restaurant or maybe it was the location in this specific franchise has changed a lot. Let's start with the waiter. She was completely unprofessional and knew nothing about the menu as someone who went to this restaurant grow up I knew way more about the menu and the restaurant than she did, when it was time for us to leave, we asked her if we can get it to go.She brought the box and then offered tobox of our food for us. I thought that was nice of her and so I allowed her to do so. unfortunately we didn't check our food before we left to make sure it was all there. My bad i guess... On another note, I began to feel a little nauseous during the meal. I didn't share this with our waiter because I shouldn't have to. because of this, I hardly got to eat any of my meal. To make matters worse when we got home, we actually noticed that parts of our food were missing. What's crazy is she didn't even box up half of our food. We didn't even get a discount and I'm not sure how we didn't notice before we got home. What a waste of money. We didn't even get get to enjoy our experience at home or at the restaurant. This was her mistake and this was really frustrating to me, so all in all this was a terrible experience and since there's many locations in our area, if I was to go back to any of the stoney rivers, I would not be going back to this location probably. Oh and she dropped and broke a ton of plates carrying the last of the au jus for the night so that made what was left of our leftovers when we got home a little less pallatable :/ read more

I came here for my girl's birthday dinner. Let me say, the customer service is excellent. The complimentary rolls were super tasty. We had he steak rolls for the appetizer and it was a lot of food for the money. I had the 16oz New York Strip and my date had the Stoney River Legendary Filet. I had the super loaded potato side and she had the mushrooms. My steak was so juicy and tasty. It was cooked perfectly. They even gave us a free cake and ice cream for the birthday celebration. Everything about this place was soooo good. I was able to make reservations on Open Table with no issues so that always makes things easier. We dined during the evening hours and the atmosphere was rather calm but the bar was pretty busy. The lights were very dim so I'd definitely say this could be a perfect spot for a date night. When we arrived the hostess was super sweet and we were promptly seated. Before I forget, Colin deserves a full on raise. He came to our table not too long after we were seated, introduced himself, and gave a quick overview of the menu and offered drink suggestions. He wasn't overbearing and allowed us time to enjoy our drinks and food and was just a really nice guy. The service he provided was awesome and he made our night at Stoney River even better as he made sure everyone in our party was taken care of. We started with several apps - the crab cakes, deviled eggs, and these egg rolls with steak inside. Delicious. The crab cakes and eggs rolls were so goooood. I also started with the matador (which Colin recommended and was similar to a margarita but considered a "skinny" margarita) to drink and and then opted for the Szechuan salmon and it came with two sides. I picked the sautéed spinach and au gratin potatoes. Then I had the one fine day to drink and it was another great drink choice. My food was amazing. The salmon was cooked perfectly, the sweet and sour sauce was a nice compliment to the fish and the sides were a good portion and tasted great. Since we were there for a birthday dinner, they brought out a huge piece of a chocolate brownie with ice cream. It looked goood but the person who's birthday it was it not a fan of chocolate and Colin offered him the option to pick another dessert and he was soon on his way back with s ridiculously sized piece of carrot cake. I didn't partake but we know it's basically awesome. The pricing is up there with most dishes being $25+ so just be sure before you come out. A most wonderful experience. Wow! Such a disappointment! We have been coming here off and on for years. We arrived at 5:20 in the almost empty parking lot and we walk in and let them know that we did not have a reservation and ask if they could have a table for two. We are looking at an empty restaurant and we are told that we would have to wait an hour!!!! They told us that we could sit at the bar. Now this is not the first time this has happened to us and the last time we took our chances and sat at the bar we ended up walking out because they didn't have the wait staff to even take care of us at the bar. We were not about to risk that again. We are business owners as well, and we understand being shorthanded, but we will never understand turning down good paying clients when you clearly have the capacity to serve them. It is hard for us to imagine that there was not one table for two that they could set us up at 5:30 in the evening before all the crowds come in. We are willing to be wrong, but this looks like just plain poor management. While we enjoy the food, Stoney River needs a serious lesson in moving customers through the restaurant instead of turning them away! We are giving a three star because when we do are lucky enough to get decent service, the food is always good. They have the best lobster bisque, great steaks and a fabulous selection of cocktails and wines. This is our go to local steak place when we don't want to spend too much or feel like we need to get all gussied up. The food is always good and service is pretty consistently good. On this last visit, one of the guest had his steak overly charred (but the meat was cooked correctly internally). The staff graciously had another filet brought over to replace it. As it turns out, this was not charred but undercooked internally (ughh) Our guest chose to keep the steak as is ( time constraints drove the choice. ). Well, in a wonderful example of great customer service, they removed the charge for the steak. Sometimes events like this happen, while frustrating at the time, this demonstrated how good management and customer service wins out. I will keep this on my list of "go to" places in tow read more

I went to this location yesterday for lunch. I have been to the other location in Cumberland as well. I'm not sure if it was because they had just opened an hour before we arrived, but the service was fast and amazing. I had the cold water salmon meal and switched out the broccoli for asparagus (best idea ever ). The salmon was perfect medium (after a slight sear recook) the garlic mash potatoes were creamy and not bold filled with garlic, and the asparagus was perfect still crunchy and not chewy. It was highly undercooked an overreaction we sent it back and the third time it was over cooked for the first time. We had to eat it. The manager came by she was very grumpy and offered no consideration. This place is not going to do well, and it was sparsely attended. We started with a bottle of wine. My husband ordered the lobster bisque and I had the house salad. Both were great! The salad was huge! For our entrees, my husband ordered the coffee marinated filet and baked potato. I ordered the salmon with lemon, broccoli, and mashed potatoes. Everything was so good! Had a wonderful salad during lunch. The service was pretty slow and we were without water a few times despite the restaurant being nearly empty (4 tables) on Labor Day. The Cumberland salad minus the croutons is gluten free. I ordered it gluten free and it still arrived with croutons. I asked for it to be remade and it was, quite quickly. The manager even came over to make sure it was ok. The salad was wonderful! The herb vinaigrette was amazing. I really wish they would bottle it for home. I also order the lemon drop Mojito, it was decent in taste but small in amount. Service was great and fast. However the restaurant was not full. The place is beautiful! Free valet, but parking was available up front. The little small rolls are delicious with the cinnamon butter! I would recommend this place over Flemmings or Ruth Chris because the quality is there and the value is better! U get more bang for ur bucks u gonna shell out! We went last night and sat at the bar. The bartender was initially attentive but we had to flag her down and request refills or ask if we could order food. The steak and biscuits appetizer was more then enough to share for 4 people but the steak was cooked well done and dry dry dry. The Tuna Ahi was tasteless and the sides of rice and wilted spinach were severely under seasoned. The bartender took my plate off food away while I was still poking at it and didn't even ask me if I wanted to box it up and take it home. Very rude. What's even more upsetting was seeing one of the servers raising a broom to another server like she was going to strike her while she screamed obscenities in the kitchen area. Two petite fillets, cook perfectly, fillet medallions were excellent, the baked potato fully loaded was a real treat, the carrot cake was magnificent for a party of four, whiskey shrimp, really good, and to tell you the truth, we didn't finish all of it. Even before the Covid-19 pandemic, I tend to make most of my meals at home because I love to cook. But, with the pandemic, our rate of eating out has come to a complete stop. Recently, we were running errands and got the urge to get lunch somewhere instead of going home, and we thought it would be good opportunity to finally visit this restaurant. We were VERY pleased with how they handled safety (e.g., staff wearing masks, QR-code/downloadable menus, spacing customers throughout the dining room). The only thing that I would have liked to have would be for requirement all customers to wear masks when not at their table. It doesn't seem fair or right for them to walk by my table while unmasked, or for that matter, to have to be in the same restroom with them. Otherwise, the service was great, and the food quality, portions and prices were reasonable. We'll definitely have to try Stoney River again when we next get an urge to dine out! read more

For a restaurant to charge $50+ for an underwhelming cut of NY strip, you would think they could make sure it's hot or at least warm when the customer receives it. Was not impressed with the long blonde hair that was stuck on the steak either. Got a loaded baked potato with everything as my side, and somehow they managed to burn the baked potato to a point that it smelled like burnt coffee grounds. Would've appreciated at least some sour cream to come with it to mask the burnt taste, but that must not have crossed their mind when they read "with everything" on the order. read more

We had a party of 15 and usually you would have to make reservations way in advance for a big party but they were able to accommodate us that same night after calling ahead. I think we called like two hours before. Food was great, service was great. I can't remember what everyone ordered but it was pretty much either steak, seafood or sandwiches lol. We truly enjoyed our dining experience at Stoney River tonight. My husband ordered the Coffee-ground Filet (LOVED IT).. he was able to cut his steak with a FORK folks... it was fabulous. My daughter and I split the Salmon with Lemon Caper Butter, Augratin Potatoes and green beans. The poppyseed rolls with cinnamon butter are to die for- YUM. We also had the Crab Cake as an appetizer- this isn't a cheap breaded Crab Cake; this is pure LUMP CRAB meat with a fantastic cream sauce/capers. Absolutely fantastic. They do offer a kids menu, but my daughter was craving Salmon tonight. We ended our meal with one scoop of ice cream (with hot fudge) for our daughter and a cup of coffee. Total bill for all of this, plus two glasses of wine came to $89. For this type of meal, we felt the bill was reasonable. Stoney River is a consistent classic. I came here to celebrate my birthday. We had great service and great food. We had the shrimp toast to start. I highly recommend. French onion soup was next and that was equally as good. We both had steaks which were delicious. We ended with the key lime pie which was one of the best I've had. Went on a Wednesday evening. Greeted and was seated quickly. It was full, not crowded. Our waitress was very helpful and attentive since it was our first time.
