You know as much as I dislike Corporate restaurant food, this place just gets it right pretty much every time I walk thru the doors. The bartenders know how to make a drink, the apps are great, the salads are outstanding, the steaks hit the mark and the pricing is incredibly reasonable. I swear you can eat their enormous Steak salad along with a Diet Coke and get out the door for under $30. The only negative things I can say about this restaurant are their signature rolls that they are always trying to shove down my gullet are kind of disgusting. I love the concept but the rolls are kind of fried and sweet and I feel like I'm being fed a Dunkin Donut Munchkin hole. The 2nd item is that the lighting fixtures over the bar are dirty and several bulbs have been out FOR YEARS. Now you may say I'm splitting hairs here, but in my opinion, that is a big red flag that somebody in Management is not paying attention. We truly enjoyed our dining experience at Stoney River tonight. My husband ordered the Coffee-ground Filet (LOVED IT).. he was able to cut his steak with a FORK folks... it was fabulous. My daughter and I split the Salmon with Lemon Caper Butter, Augratin Potatoes and green beans. The poppyseed rolls with cinnamon butter are to die for- YUM. We also had the Crab Cake as an appetizer- this isn't a cheap breaded Crab Cake; this is pure LUMP CRAB meat with a fantastic cream sauce/capers. Absolutely fantastic. They do offer a kids menu, but my daughter was craving Salmon tonight. We ended our meal with one scoop of ice cream (with hot fudge) for our daughter and a cup of coffee. Total bill for all of this, plus two glasses of wine came to $89. For this type of meal, we felt the bill was reasonable. The first time I went here was the night I moved in to town. It was close, and they had open seating when I was starving from lugging in my belongings. I was sweaty and gross, but I was starving and really just wanted a great steak dinner. Well, kudos to the staff, they didn't even look at me twice! They seated us and served us like we were there for a special occasion, which, in hindsight, it really was. The steak and fries just melted in my mouth, although I substituted a loaded baked potato for the fries, and I have even had them both again since then. Also went for a birthday celebration. We called to make a reservation early in the day and begged to get the booth closest to the fireplace. They made no guarantees, but they really did deliver. Not only did we have that exact table, but many people on staff stopped by to wish a happy birthday, and we received a nice signed card from everyone there that day. It definitely made the birthday girl feel special. The calamari was a little over breaded, but their bread and flavored butter just melts in your mouth, and their SF spinach dip is near to perfection. one of the other steaks at our table was just okay, and the prime rib wasn't the best, but the atmosphere and the welcoming staff are really worth that extra start. We are regulars at Stoney. Usually 2-3 times a month. The service is always excellent. The food consistently delicious. Large selection to choose from, and reasonably priced. Salads are always fresh which I love! Fish and steaks are cooked to perfection with great presentation. The ambience is pleasant. Low lighting, not noisy. Easy to converse without having to shout. I always judge the cleanliness of where we eat. Stoney checks all the boxes on this too. Silverware, plates, glasses, seating and linens are alway clean. Restrooms are clean. I have been there a few times- They charge high end steakhouse prices for middle of the road steaks.

I enjoyed my lunch so much. The Steakhouse burger was so juicy and the carmelized onions was a bonus flavor I also had the salad with the fried chicken on it (sorry, I can't remember the name). But, if you are a bread lover, you will love those little bread holes similar to donut holes with honey butter- they melt in your mouth. I can't wait to come back for the steak! This is one of my favorite spots to frequent in Roswell, particularly for brunch. I gave them 4 stars because service and food can be a bit spotty when they're really busy. If you're a true foodie, you'll find their cocktail offering limited and rather basic. For instance, the bar doesn't carry Campari or a decent sweet vermouth like Carpano (despite multiple requests to add it to their line up). I love this place. But I was very dissatisfied with my recent visit. It was my 27th birthday; My boyfriend and I both ordered the Ribeye and sides. I had the Gouda Mac &Cheese. The Ribeye was awful. We didn't finish either steak, it wasn't juicy and it was not easy to eat. And we both got MR. I mainly ate the Mac and cheese. Very nice! Great atmosphere. I like that you can be more casual at the bar or sit at a booth. I love the beams and brick. Our waitress was very pleasant and helpful. I couldn't decide between two types of wine so she brought me both to try in a "blind" taste test. (the Australian Shiraz won! Greg Norman?) We started with the artichoke spinach dip. I love artichoke spinach dip! It came out with chips and the cheese on top was a little congealed, like it has been sitting around for a bit, even though it came out really fast. We stirred it up and it wasn't very cheesy so I was nervous. The chips were actually really good, well salted and the dip was very creamy. It didn't really need any extra cheese. I was pleasantly surprised. The steak was amazing, cooked to order and they had me cut into it to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. The blue cheese topping was plentiful and wonderful. My dinner companion ordered the shrimp and mussels, which is his favorite entree there. He said it was as good as ever. We ended with a humongous slice of chocolate cake served with four shots of milk. (super funny) Apparently people like to dip the cake...I just drank them milk. The Stoney River at Cumberland Mall used to be more convenient, but now this one is. As always, I try to have at least 2 experiences before giving the coveted 5-star rating. I've dined here 3 times and have never had a bad experience. This place gets the elusive 5 stars. Atmosphere Service (Shouts out to Katie at the bar who took excellent care of us) Food Cocktails We went for dinner tonight and had the following: Stoney River's famous bread (if they don't offer it, ask for it - and don't be afraid to ask for more) Lump crab cake (Special - no filler, not the one on the regular menu) Lobster bisque House salad with house made vinaigrette Cowboy ribeye Garlic mashed potatoes So this was a lot of food for 2 people but we tried our best. Needless to say, the food won. The crab cakes were everything that Katie promised: jumbo lump, full of flavor and zero filler. I've had the bisque a number of times and it was amazing as usual. The chunks of lobster were amazing and more plentiful than I remember last time. My dining companion said his salad was fresh and the house made dressing was great. The cowboy ribeye was cooked to a PERFECT medium. We tried, but the ribeye won, so we had to take it home. It will be demolished in the morning. The garlic mashed were perfect! They were served hot and whipped to perfection. If you're a drinker, I highly suggest the grapefruit shandy. It's the drink that keeps refilling itself. It's made with Ketel One, blood orange and a grapefruit beer. It was really good and a great suggestion by Katie. I really wanted to have room for dessert but just couldn't do it. My husband and I arrived for lunch not expecting our socks to be blown off! Wow, that was one incredibly good meal. My prime rib sandwich and Parmesan fries were spot on. The meat tasted as smooth as butter and the fries were just like I like them, crispy and light! If I could have switched out the accompanying bread for something a little easier to chew, I would have. My husband's steak biscuits were plentiful and delicious according to him! I've eaten here a couple of times, and it's gotten progressively worse. I ordered the filet mignon medium. It came out with the hardest sear I've ever seen on a steak. When I cut into it, the inside was very rare. Obviously the pan was way too hot. So all I could taste was a burned flavor. Like biting into a charcoal briquette. I told the server to please have the kitchen take the sear down about 10 notches. She did bring me a replacement. The sear was much better, but again it was rare. Apparently who is ever cooking the steak is new or never trained properly. You can feel with your fingers how done a steak is. Or use a thermometer if you're not sure. A manager never came out to apologize or see if this one was better. On a separate note, I ordered a glass of red. I'm not kidding, she brought me out a regular sized glass only about 1/4 full. The servers they have in ther do not know how to do a dinner service, pour wine, etc. for those that Expect to be served at a steak house... this is like a cabin just like chili's or Applebees, the servers just keep bring your food , it's not course, and you have to participate in the cleaning of your own tables. It's just gross. So , I guess if you like that and ar okay with that then the food is good enough. For those that Expect something other than days food , this is kit it's. It been a while since I have eaten at the Roswell location but it has changed a lot. The food was just ok and the service was lacking. Our waitress seemed very distracted and rather distant. Any conversation when she decided to make a quick stop was rushed or brushed off. She seemed more interested in standing in the back of the restaurant. In the past our waiter had an assistant but I guess that has changed which would be fine if the server was more attentive. That being said I will stick with the Cumberland location which is a shame since Roswell is within 2 miles of my house. read more

I very much appreciated that what appeared to be the manager came to take our order as I assume our server was busy. This doesn't seem to be the norm anymore so it was a pleasant surprise. We recently visited Stoney River Steakhouse with friends for dinner. The first thing I greatly appreciated was the ample parking. It is really difficult to find anywhere these days where parking isn't an issue, so this was the first plus. Upon walking inside, the restaurant is beautiful. The fireplace was lit and it was so very warm and inviting. The bar was large with lots of seating to accommodate guests, and there were both tables and booths available. We were seated right in front of the fireplace...the perfect spot! We began with fantastic craft cocktails and appetizers and then moved on to dinner and wine. The whiskey shrimp was out of this world and we highly recommend that if you have a chance to try it. Our friends enjoyed a fresh salad option and we chose the lobster bisque, coffee rubbed filet and the sea bass. All were delicious. For dessert we decided to split a slice of carrot cake. Fair warning, this cake is large enough for four and comes with a steak knife in the center! It was a very enjoyable meal and we will be back! read more

My first and last time dining at the steakhouse, can't believe it has four stars. Perhaps my expectations were too high. I sent my ribeye back twice. The first time although It looked as though it was cooked to my requested temperature (medium), it was sooo tough. No tenderness or flavor!. When the manager came To check on our satisfaction with the food, without me saying anything she sensed my dissatisfaction then insisted that I sent it back. When the steak was delivered to me the second time, it was under cooked, medium rare at best. a disappointment. I sent it back for the second time. The manager, who was as sweet as can be, ended up comping our steaks without us having to ask. Our server did a decent job. Though she needs to work on her steps of service and enthusiasm.
