Danni behind the bar was great, perfect temperament and quite helpful. Caught the pre-5-o'clock specials and grabbed a steak nacho. The star was for sure the steak and very well cooked and seasoned. I'd say they'd help themselves a ton by using real cheese instead of "queso", but I knew it going into it so I'm not going to hold it against them. We purposely waited a couple of months after they opened before trying Strap Tank, thinking they will have worked out any kinks. If so, there's little reason to return. The biggest problem is that although they advertise themselves as a brewery, their beer is unimpressive and not even highlighted on the menu or in the restaurant. Upon being seated, we were handed their menu, which includes food, wine, cocktails, sodas, but no beer! We had to ask for a beer menu, which is printed in what looks like 8 point font. I finally found a beer menu on a chalkboard by the bar, and it listed different ones than on the menu. I ordered a flight, which is not part of the menu but has to be requested, and of the 5 beers I ended up having, 2 were pretty good, one was average, and 2 were like Bud Light. My wife got a hefeweizen, which would cause any German to wonder whether Americans know how to make beer. The food was ok, but nothing special. I enjoyed my French dip sandwich, but not the sweet potato fries. My wife got a margherita flatbread, which seemed to be the restaurant's way of saying they don't know how to make pizza, as the crust was soggy and it was piled with sun-dried tomatoes, making it impossible to eat without a knife and fork. We have read several reviews about the service. We found it very good, and our waiter was attentive and friendly throughout the evening. He even helped me out with the beer menu when he saw I was confused. It seems that they are counting on business from the nearby hotels and convention center. I would advise these guests to take a short drive to other options in St. George, or just have dinner in their hotels. read more

Every year my husband and I try to find some distraction on our son's angel day. We were thrilled to find this brewery for a meal and some hoppy tasting. From our hostess' pleasant greeting through our leisurely dining experience, with our very attentive and knowledgeable server, we were not disappointed. I Know that this is a new restaurant, however, there is room for improvement. The lettuce for our salad was going bad, the seasoning for the fries had no flavor, the burgers had no seasoning, the 5 cheese Mac n cheese was mushy, the waitress was very nice but forgot basic things like water refills. Cons: Our server was nice in the beginning, brought our drinks promptly but told us when we ordered that she had to "check" if they had the Ahi tuna stack was available. She didn't come back for another 45 minutes, never checked on us. I flagged her down to ask if our tuna stack was available and if our food was coming out shortly and was kind of brushed off. When she walked by our table again I asked her again to which she acted like she forgot and quickly ran off. When she came back she brought out the nachos we ordered which are the worst nachos I've ever seen in my life. Another review mentioned they looked like Elmer's glue and I could not agree more. *See video below* This is what you're offering your guests for 17 DOLLARS?!?! You have got to be joking. My father went to get the manager who came over to listen to us but didn't offer to fix it at all. Service was great! I sat at the bar where I was greeted right away and offered a drink from an extensive list of beers and cocktails. Even though the server was very busy, she was very friendly and entertaining. The atmosphere is very cozy with lots of fun retro decor. Several customers were talking advantage of the outdoor seating which is very well done. Been looking forward to this restaurant opening. Didn't want to post this on yelp...had lunch twice at Strap Tank. Both times were not worth the food, price and somewhat service. The nauchos, calimari, ahi salad and chop salad were not desirable (salad was nothing special), the naucho looked like they were made with Elmer's glue (a rubbery film covering a single layer of chips) and the calimari had good flavor but was overcooked, tough and chewy. The second time we had to go look for a waitress after waiting for 20 minutes. So disappointing! We don't have many breweries in St. George and the exterior/interior look so amazing! A very cool looking place but very disappointing. I ordered the fish and chips and a side salad, and my wife ordered a steak well done, baked potato, and a side salad. It was a very long wait for our meal! When it finally came, my wife didn't get her baked potato and I didn't get my side salad. Meanwhile, while we were waiting for those, my wife cut into her "well done" steak and it was completely red inside. Not even pink, RED! So, we had to send it back. We again waited a long time for the steak and had already finished what we had been served, and still no steak. While all of this was going on I had asked for a refill of my ice tea 3 times. The waiter said sure, but do you think I ever got it? Nope! I would have given a one star review but after talking to the manager, he was nice enough to take the steak off the bill (which we never received anyway.) read more

This place has an awesome atmosphere and is super chill! It has a bunch of cool motorcycles and an airplane hanging from the ceiling. Our service was great too. We had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, the farm house burger and one other burger. All of it was really good. I definitely recommend the Nashville chicken! The Chips and queso were excellent! Our kids got their craft sodas and really liked them. We came with 2 kids and felt like it was very family friendly. Went there with a group of adults and kids. I read the reviews prior to going and they weren't too great. It's a cool place with all the old decor. I usually don't pay attention to that type of stuff but you can't help but notice. They seated us quickly and got drinks and appetizers. The nachos and fried pickles were good. No complaints. I ordered the Nashville, hot chicken sandwich and garlic. French fries. The sandwich was real tasty. My only complaint and why I minus one star is because the chicken patty only covered a little over half of a bun. For what it was missing in size it made up in taste. And I think I probably should've just got the regular fries because they were cooked nice and crispy on the outside warm and fluffy on the inside, but where the garlic comes in as they use garlic powder like seasoned salt. We had a great experience at Strap Tank last week. It was day four of operations. The service was good, the food was very tasty and the atmosphere/vibe was outstanding and long overdue for the area. I've heard some negativity from other patrons who have recently visited which sparked my need to write a review. As with any new establishment, it takes time to work out the kinks. And it should not be expected on day one, week one, or month one. I am sure they will continue to improve. Haters please do NOT hate on this place. Cut them some slack and give them time. Sat at the bar, which is ok, bar stools are small, round pieces of wood. They don't move, so you immediately feel too close to the person next to you. Picked my seat and got my own menu. Waitress was fast to get the drink order and I made sure to order food at the same time. I watched Libby (not my waitress) run back and forth with orders, drinks, food, etc. She single handily saved them from a 2 star. 35 minutes to get food at 2:30 in the afternoon on a Thursday. I had to ask for silverware, water and ketchup from a front desk lady (she got it all for me)! Fish and chips were ok, but I ordered the garlic fries thinking they would have a garlic taste... not so much (but I could have gotten regular... who knows). The Strap Tank in St. George, Utah is definitely a place to try. We just returned from a fun lunch with six friends. From the minute we arrived we were treated with care. Our waitress, Lilly, was courteous and knowledgeable. We choose a flight of 4 different beers, fried pickles ( very good and arrived steaming hot), and their specialty burger on a pretzel bun and fries ( excellent). (I had to get up twice... once to get more salad dressing, the second time to get the PRINTED version of our bill.... after I had requested BOTH earlier.) Fish tacos had GREAT FISH PORTIONS ($20) ... but very dry. Husbands Caesar salad ($17) was nothing special. Chicken on it left a lot to be desired. We would NOT order either again. Honestly, a letdown. I was really excited to see a Strap Tank open in St. George. The first time I went, the service was rough (not trying to be rude). Our server, who worked behind the bar, didn't know anything about the beer--I asked simple questions like the size and ABV, and they said they weren't sure. It then took about 30 minutes to get our drinks because they were the only one running them. I get it, but that shouldn't happen. The second time, I went on a Saturday night at 10:30 PM, and the place was already closed with chairs up--even though the hours say midnight. I'll give it one more try eventually, but so far it's not looking great. The one at Thanksgiving Point is 10x better. read more

My husband and I intentionally waited before trying Strap Tank Brewery so that they had time to get the kinks worked out, etc. When we finally tried it, we ended up going three times in one week! In other words, we were not disappointed. Our intentions were to try something different from the menu each visit, but we so loved the meatballs, wedge salad, and fish tacos that we haven't tried anything else. We promise to expand our culinary adventures next time and report back. The sodas are delicious (think flavors like grape, orange cream, ginger, black cherry, and sarsaparilla) and taste like how a soda SHOULD taste. Presentation of food was attractive. For those concerned that beer is on the menu, the restaurant is located within walking distance of several hotels, which helps ensure that drinkers aren't driving after imbibing. Another consideration is that as St. George strives to build tourism, the restaurant and its proximity to hotels and the convention center is an attractive feature. Also love the memorabilia scattered throughout the restaurant and that they bring a good-sized bottle of water to the table so that you don't have to keep flagging down the wait staff for refills. Tiffany--our waitress on our last visit--kindly saw that the music's volume was turned down so that we could have a conversation. The music is great; it was initially just a bit too loud. St. George has lots of good restaurants, but Strap Tank Brewery is unique and a great addition to our community. read more

However, my sister ordered the baseball steak dinner medium rare and it came out soooo overcooked that the inside was the same color as the outside! No pinkness in sight! We enjoyed the ambiance of Strap Tank, however that is quickly lost in a dining experience with slow indifferent service and mediocre food, which took way too long and arrived cold. One of the members of our group got very wet, when the bottom of a glass water glass fell out spilling water across the table. She had great recommendations, pub burger for me, fish/chips for better half; we both ordered St George Light, delicious lager served in a very chilled glass!! Service was amazing, Camille was so sweet. Unfortunately we didnt have a great time. They told us the wait was 30 min and we waited an hour. Simply beers took 30 minutes to come out. The chips and queso were tasty. Cocktails were awful and too pricey. Beer was fine. The food was also fine. Dont come on a weekend. Granted, they are a newer spot so maybe theyre warming up. The wait of excitement for Strap Tank Brewery to open was crushed with tremendous disappointment! I understand this was their first week of opening but this is not their only location so it shouldn't have been this bad. The food was either cold or overcooked, the alcoholic drinks were half full and sub par. It took 15 minutes just to get water (served w/o ice), the service was extremely slow, and the music was way too loud (difficult to visit w/friends). It's hard to tell what kind of restaurant they are going for. It's a brewery and has cool decor but there are young children and families there and a DJ with lights blasting music. We couldn't tell if they are trying to be a cool brewery (which is what we were hoping for) or a family restaurant or a dance club !
